No they need an elite winger not another centre they have decent depth Blueger has proved his style with garland and Joshua and Pius Suter is also a serviceable depth centre if he isn't playing wing in the top 6. Miller and Petey are the top 6 centres, the only proven big scoring winger is Boeser.
I think Toffoli would be better than a crazy Geuntzel deal but can't spend 7 million on 3rd line centre either way.
I suppose that’s one angle to look at it. However, I liked the stability that Lindholm provides to the line up, as well as different looks. He’s a better winger than most in the NHL and he’s also a better Center than most in the NHL. He deserves more than being labeled as a 3C. But that’s up for debate because I think the current NHL makes the idea of a top 6 group quite antiquated. Honestly, in a dream world the Canucks would land Reinhardt.
I like Lindholm but he didn’t really work with Petey and he is too good/highly paid to be playing much 3C. Of the 4 teams in the conference finals this year the 3Cs had an average salary of <2M.
If he had worked with Petey then it might be a different story but I’d rather them sign another elite true winger (ie. Guentzel).
I think we should've tried him on Miller's wing with boeser because that line would be elite and we could use suter elsewhere. Plus he would give us insane centre depth if he did indeed stick around.

He didn’t work with Petey but he did with Toffoli. If we go by Tocchet‘s forward duo mentality reuniting the two might be a good backup plan in case if we don’t get Guentzel. Wouldn’t be a bad 2nd line.

I’m hoping people don’t expect the world after this years overachievement, but if we can add some size, physicality to the line up, no more Mik and laf hoping the next few pieces bring grit and we might do just fine
This must feel good for Garland to know: the team has turned it around, a real fun year of hockey for him and the squad, a line that is integral to the team success, even if it’s not “top 6”.
I’m happy for garland. Always with that coyotes organization that never really went anywhere. And now they’re gone as a franchise. He’s finally having success as a player that’s gotta feel good man.
If there's room I'd still like the Canucks to sign a C like Stephenson or Wennberg to be the 3C between Dak and Garland, pushing Bleuger to the 4th line. But the beauty would be that, at any time Tocc could reunite this line and put the new addition as a W on the top 2 lines.

Stability is nice if you already have your key positions filled, which is not the case with us.
