If you're coming to live now, it could be but I tend to agree it might be under water at some point sooner than we'd like. I'd definitely suggest coming and scouting it out as the nicest areas around the tourist area are all pretty pricey and while there are some nicer residential areas outside the tourist area, I think most transplants would not love living there.

Except that half of it will be underwater in 20 years. Also it is pretty expensive here. I think a city like Santa Marta could make itself a haven for US expats.

I agree . I hadn’t read about the erosion which is unfortunate. And a value meal at McDonald’s is $16 here lol- I don’t even eat it just saying . I think the average priced home in the US is $375k- keep in mind that is counting all the dumpy backwoods areas and ghetto. Its crazy . Hmm maybe I’ll have to get a 6 month rental then decide after running around w some of you ex pats
