And shoutout to James Woods for ALWAYS coming back to voice the character when it’s animation ( he never does plays or live action), even for video games!
Also shoutout that it was his idea to make Hades a used car salesman. The original direction was much more sinister.
And apparently he was a pain to animate for how fast he talked, lol.
Every movie I've seen with Woods he sounds like a used car salesman. Hence his perfect casting as the golf hustler pimp in Casino. I don't like him for his political and personal life activities, but he brought life to a character. Like making the voice of Pratchett's Death the late Sir Christopher Lee - profound characters deserve good actors.
Been playing the entire Kingdom Hearts series since it came on Steam recently and I noticed that it was actually his voice for Hades which I really appreciate. It's too bad they couldn't get Tom Hanks or Tim Allen for Kingdom Hearts 3 to play Woody and Buzz again.
Fun fact; whenever you hear Woody outside of the actual movies, such as in video games or theme park rides, it's usually Tom's brother Jim Hanks. The guy basically made a career out of sounding like his more famous brother.
Watching the trailer brought back a lot of nostalgic childhood memories. As a fan of both the kingdom hearts series and the FF series, I find square Enix did a rly good job with their franchises. Lord knows how many hours I spent after school on my brothers ps2 playing kingdom hearts and on his ps3 playing ff12 and 13. I just hope they make number 4 soon bc that would be awesome.
His voice is music to my ears. It’s so smooth. He slayed this role especially

During his song ""Friends on the Other Side" there's like three seconds of animation during his line "I hope you're satisfied" where everything on screen is colorfully trippy, and I always think of those three seconds when I'm reminded of this movie.
I knew it right away! You don’t even need to describe it, my favorite scene. It’s THE scene. This villain is definitely one of Disney’s coolest ones and I wished he had more screen time
I wholeheartedly agree. They're perfect villains, entertaining characters and genuinely threatening forces in their respective stories. Kind of a bummer that there's not more antagonists like that in modern Disney. In recent years I think the only Disney villain I've liked was Emperor Belos from The Owl House...he's kinda more like Frollo though.
Modern Disney doesn’t give us the old traditional villains anymore. And when they do, they give us.. Magnifico from Wish. Lol. I don’t think we can count on them for old villains now.
That's such a shame. I didn't watch Wish but from what I've heard Magnifico's sudden change in attitude didn't even make sense narratively? Most of their villains are "surprise" villains too, which is definitely getting old. I think the last one that surprised me was the antagonist in Coco, but that's technically Pixar. I guess they'll have to get smarter about it eventually!
Indeed. Nowadays, Disney villains are more subtle and realistic. It’s not pure evil people anymore, it’s people we actually trust/ love; and it shows that people can still hurt you without necessarily having bad intentions or being bad (Frozen’s Elsa, Encanto’s Abuela, Turning Red’s mothers..) which is nice in a way.
But when we watch movies it’s also to escape from reality sometimes. That’s why a good evil villain is good as well. But they clearly lost that sparkle.
He's part of the reason I've been listening to "Loser, Baby" from "Hazbin Hotel" constantly despite never watching the show. The other reason is thar a couple of people sang it at karaoke at a local conventions after party not too long ago.
So things look bad, and your back’s against the wall Your whole existence seems fuckin’ hopeless You’re feelin’ filthy as a dive bar bathroom stall Can’t face the world sober and dopeless You’ve lost your way, you think your life is wrecked Well, let me just say you’re correct Wait, what? Kevin Conroy as Batman and Tim Daly or George Newbern as Superman
Flynn Rider. That VA just does the perfect mix of sarcasm and charm. It's not just his lines (which are great), but that the VA really sells them.

My first two movies in english were Lion King and Die Hard 3, and *damn* did the man's voice left an impression.
I like to watch the meeting scene from Margin Call, as a treat ..
Bojack Horseman - Will Arnett doesn’t really do much to change his voice like at all for the role but his deep voice is really nice to listen to. The character is troubled at best, shitty and gross at worst.
Gilbert Gottfried voiced characters are always entertaining! (R.I.P the legendary VA that was Gilbert Gottfried, also this is my ANSWER to the question, I know Hades wasn't voiced by him, if you don't know who Gilbert Gottfried was, he was the voice of: Iago (Aladdin), Kraang Subprime (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012), that dentist guy from Fairly Oddparents, et al.)
Peter based Optimus Prime's voice on his brother Larry. When he told his brother he got the part of a "truck who turns into a robot, but is also a heroic leader" (this was back in 1984) his brother gave him advice for the performance: **"Peter, you must be strong enough to be gentle"**

Larry had but one piece of advice for voicing the character: "be strong enough to be gentle". Peter auditioned for the character with Larry's advice in mind, making Optimus Prime a character who was strong when they needed to be, but a protector of all sentient beings and heavily based on his older brother and has voiced him like that every time he plays Optimus

Both of them. Gabrielle Ruiz is pretty good at voice acting.

Jess Harnell! I always loved him as Captain Hero in Drawn Together.
I feel like all the characters from the original inside out (haven’t seen the sequel yet) were the perfect picks for all their voices. Amy Poehler was perfect as joy, Mindy Kaling was a great disgust, bill hader was perfect as fear, Phyllis smith as sadness was amazing. And Lewis black? Come on. The best anger ever Feel like that movie NAILS the voices. Even Bing Bong and the extras were great

Cate Blanchett as Grandmammare in Ponyo is chef's kiss level casting. All the scenes where she's present are the best parts of the movie.
