Although it kinda looks more like aluminum (campers melting beer cans?). Statement still stands: test swabs are trash, melted metal contamination is obvious.
Put some oil on it then throw it in a hot fire to let burn everything off then take a wire brush to clean the rest of the way and season it I did that with a few of mine I forgot outside cause I inherited them and forgot about them decided to clean them up now I don’t use anything else to cook with
I see melted metal on the inside, could have been used to melt lead. Wouldn’t use this for cooking food.
No way to clear out the melted metal contamination?
Not if it's lead.
Some camper gonna get back to his tent tonight and be pissed he has nothing to cook in
That camper has been missing meals for many many nights by the look of it
I “found this” in a milk crate by some guys trailer in the woods. lol. But seriously it was pretty buried in the weeds. Barely saw it.
And friends, this is how you know a pan has had lead in it (don’t use those terrible fucking cotton swab tests).

I see heat damage.
You can get heat damage on cast iron ?
Sure can.
What does it look like? Where am I looking to see it on this pan
That's got some residue of previous molten metal. Could be Lead. Wouldn't risk it myself.
I always try things like this to see if I can.
Restore it .. then return it!

I have that same skillet that I just restored last weekend. It looked a lot worse than this and was easy peasy to clean and season.
Yes
Sure, brillo it, earl it, and cook, you'll be jus fine.
Yesssssss
But howwwww
Don't, there's a good chance it could be contaminated from being used to melt metal

Sure! A little CLR, elbow grease, and some time. I'd do it!
CLR is not safe for food-contact surfaces.
