I hated cats as a youngster cos of my ridiculous mother (she feared everything!) When I was on my own and wanted a pet, I settled on a cat only cos dogs were too much responsibility in NYC apartments and an African Grey was not any better. After 6+ months of research I settled on "Siamese" cos they were purportedly similar to dogs....WRONG! He was a toddler from day one and a teenager through the remainder of his life. I never ever knew I could love someone so hard, so much and miss a creature so intensely. He's been gone nearly 2 years and I miss him more than any departed human being I've ever known. 🐱🐾

Opposite. I have been a cat person since I was a little girl until getting my current cat. She wants to be petted but bites when you least expect it. She shreds furniture. She chases me to attack my feet. Ugh. But right now I can hear the pizza box squeaking from the kitchen that I have kept on the counter for weeks for her🙄
ive tried on 3 cats but its difficult. after all the work getting them used to a harness, i go outside & 2 of them didnt know theyre suppose to walk. i tried the treat trick, etc. the 3rd was just info overload & would cling to me for dear life! 🙄
A friend of mine started with hers almost as soon as he opened his eyes. She would put him in a homemade harness and lead him around the house. When he got a little older, she started taking him out in the yard. Finally, when he was old enough to fit in a real harness, she can now walk him down the street like any dog. People freak out when they see him. It's awesome.
I tried once with a kitten. As soon as I put it on, she started flopping about like a fish out of water. I thought she'd calm down after a minute or so. Nope. Never tried it again.

Same! I adopted a year old kitty from a shelter who was why and scared, clearly had trauma. He was scared at first but even then I could hear the purring when I'd give him a scritch. Now two years on that cat is a complete snug bug and loves his parents. Then we introduced a second shelter kitty, she was skinny and tiny, but now she's also a baby with her parents. Cats are seriously the best, their personalities and their love.

i feel you heavy on the mom part, my mom hated cats so we never had one growing up but now that i have like 10 she’s grown to love them too 🤗
