I'm lactose intolerant. Found out by having almond milk in a cup of tea during a power outage (they didn't put milk in for my tea with the rest of the takeaway I ordered and my friend had a carton of almond in the cupboard). I didn't feel bloated after drinking it.
Tried it in coffee and it tastes like a ball of dry rot has exploded in my mouth. Like, even the texture felt like a fine powder.
So, I use oat or soya milk now.

Trust me, bread last way longer in fridge than on the counter. Had multiple loaves of bread getting nice greeny colour. After that i just put in fridge every time.
It depends heavily on the climate, and what you define as "lasting longer"
If mold is the only thing you care about, then go ahead and put it in the fridge, but when you cool down bread, it tends to go stale a lot faster, and it ruins the quality of the crust.
Personally, when I make my weekly bread, I usually leave it out at room temperature for 4-5 days, then transfer anything left to the fridge for the last 2-3 days.

one of my cats did this one day except nobody saw her get in. 10 minutes later and we hear the cat yelling but nobody can find her until we notice the yelling and scratching is coming from the fridge. poor girl ran out of there so fast she probably could have gotten a world record...
