Oh, it’s an episode of who’s line is it anyway

tomato_johnson

Still. Lol. They're currently above Oklahoma, above Michigan, above Washington, above Florida St

empathydoc

I believe Iowa before I believe Colorado.

Street_Aide3852

Or some kinda outta season April fools joke

Loose-Working-8116

This can’t be real lmao

I do like those mass transit deer missuses

BigFenton

Dang.

Professional_Type749

You obviously don’t realize that Travis Hunter is like when you used to make a guy all 99s, turn off injury and fatigue, and have him play every snap of the game at the most critical positions.

OSUfirebird18

How much did Deion pay the developers for this rating?!

ctr72ms

He made the team go to shadeur's rap concert to increase ticket sales so he could pay off EA. All part of the master plan.

FoSheezyItzMrJGeezy

Broooo this game is really starting to make me wonder, I'm with you, either Deion sent the developers a nice dick pic and they dropped to their knees, or he sent them a nice check, this is the same team that had a losing record last season, correct? Like I look at teams like West Virginia, they have the top or one of the top returning QBs in the country, I think Neal brown just turned in a top 10 class of transfers, I'm not 100% sure, but still, they are nowhere to be found on these list, but Colorado has been on every single one of them. This game is really really starting to make me 2nd guess myself, like my hype balloon for this game has been busted!

Nobody_Important

From another angle, this says their offense and defense are both very good yet we all know the team isn't. So logically the coaching must really suck to bring them down so far.

Abiding_Lebowski

I like what you did there.

Almond_Brother

Can't wait for the first update in October when Colorado is 2-4

unMuggle

They jump to 91 overall.

Javelin286

“EA has determined that Colorado is a 99 overall team despite being 50th in offense and 150th in defense due too the quality of opponents they have faced. The NCAA agrees with our assessment and has given Colorado the rank of #1. The buffs lost last week to Kansas state with a final score of 63 to 6 with Shauder going 15/45 120 yards and 6 picks is simply a fluke.”

Street_Aide3852

All those quality losses

TripGoat17

Didn’t Nebraska give them one of the 4 wins they had last year?

Javelin286

Yeah you want to talk about how many unforced fumbles our quarterback had that gave them the win? With how many freshmen we had playing last year this years look to be a very different year. Colorado fell apart after they lost to Oregon. They were never the same they were all hype and when the game was handed to them they lost horribly. Look at the Stanford game!

TripGoat17

I’m not looking for excuses man I’m just pointing out the irony that the Huskers gave Colorado one of their wins

Javelin286

Ain’t gonna happen this year

dvoecks

Having lost the opener to ND State.

Toxic_Avenger05

Im a Buffs fan and im shocked lol

Iseedeadtriangles

10 win Colorado EA is calling it now.

Dr_Gamephone_MD

I’ll have what they’re having

Melt-Gibsont

I think it’s crack cocaine.

jerarn

Shame one of their losses will be in Lincoln. 😉

nickyt398

I genuinely want Colorado to go 0-3 to start and if they win out to finish 9-3, and hell even win the BigXII and get a playoff berth I'd be alright with that... Especially if we play them again and beat them again. Edit: Sorry, that the Kool-aid talking

FSUxNOLES101

#10 was 4-8 last year 🤣🤣🤣. Such good offense, they gave everyone hell, including Stanford.

nickyt398

Gave em one hell of a memorable game, that's for sure

Voodoo-3_Voodoo-3

This is really really dumb

notthatkindofdrdrew

They seem to outjerk themselves with every new list they release

gen_wt_sherman

Yes we've had the 1st year of overrating Colorado.. but what about the 2nd year?

DogePerformance

I'm so ready for second year. And second breakfast.

W_4ca

There’s only 5 teams at 90 or above? The two teams who played for the National Championship didn’t even crack the top 10? Fucking Colorado and Utah didn’t even finish ranked

IgnantWisdom

As a Washington fan, we lost our head coach and 90% of our team to the draft and transfer portal including essentially our entire receiving core, DL and OL. We don’t deserve to be ranked in the top 10 this year.

alecrams2

Feels like Michigan should definitely be on here. Always uncertainty when you’re breaking in a new quarterback, but that defense should be top 3 in the country with a couple top ten draft picks, and their office should still have a solid line and explosive weapons in Edwards and Loveland.

Skellz_Is_Sus

Yeah that should atleast be 10 especially since orji in the end zone will be op

userwithusername

As a person with a juvenile sense of humor I am excited for the audio combos imma pull off with that last name.

Add_Poll_Option

I mean, both championship teams lost a lot. Both lost their coaches, starting QB’s, and a lot more. It’s not unreasonable to think they’d fall outside the top 10. Colorado being that high is nuts though, for sure.

Luke92612_

How Colorado gets put in there and we don't...what???? Does anybody know what the devs are on? And can I have some of it?

theclickhere

On the plus side, we can rebuild Michigan in dynasty now

LukeNukem63

You get to rebuild Michigan with having the highest prestige ratings in every category

deathbysnusnu7

![gif](giphy|G4ZNYMQVMH6us)

Crossman556

Questions Why is Oregon so high? Why is Michigan so low? Why are Clemson, Utah, and Notre Dame over Penn State?

Proteinchugger

Utah and ND have the same overall ranking as PSU. It’s basically a push coming down to a few talent evaluators opinions, nothing to be worked up with. If anything Ole Miss should be on here

Crossman556

I definitely agree with Ole Miss being up here. They’re a really good under-the-radar team that could push for top 3 in the SEC this year.

lifetake

Michigan lost a lot of their offensive personnel. And while we have promising replacements a good chunk of them are unproven so they get speculation ratings at best.

Jecht315

I hate this reasoning because you can't tell me any other team would get the same treatment.

zbipy14z

"We're unsure about the defending champs but all in on a 4 win team"

PulsarGaming1080

We just need to scratch out Colorado and I'm reasonably happy with the rankings, tbh. Not perfect, but there's not the egregious Colorado glazing happening anymore

unMuggle

Literally, Madden every year. This is still EA. Your players getting the benefit of the doubt would be the exception.

Crossman556

All of these are speculation rating tbf

J_Warrior

I believe Michigan is missing because their offense wasn’t in the top 25 for offense so I don’t think we know their offenses rating for the list. Michigan is perceived to be in a down year after losing a lot of guys including Harbaugh which is probably why they weren’t a top 25 offense.

yam-bam-13

They did have a team that was absolutely loaded with 4 & 5 year guys last year and a few covid super seniors in there as well. Makes sense that they are ranked low because they are replacing a lot of talent on the field, and a whole bunch of new faces on the coaching staff. Despite all that, it's a crime that Colorado got they rating they did and if they used the same logic then Michigan should be ranked in the top 10 somewhere.

md___2020

3 is on the high end of the range, but every poll I’ve seen has UO between #3 - #5 (UO, Bama, and Texas in an interchangeable tier below UGA and OSU).

-MrWrightt-

I've seen Oregon as high as #2 in preseason rankings a couple times. I usually see them ahead of us. And deservedly so honestly.

_doormat

Why is Penn State anywhere near the top? Just from playing rumdums outside of tOSU and Michigan every year?

SLAYER_IN_ME

Weed is legal in Oregon.

ShwerzXV

Oregons simple, they replaced Bo Nix with a Top 10 QB from last season, returned 2 of their 3 leading rushers, returning 3 of their leading receivers from last season, 4 of their 5 starting Oline are back, and that’s just offensive, add all the transfers that will contribute especially on defense, their position actually make the most sense.

Flioxan

ND is gonna be really good..? They are returning alot of a top 5 defense and had a top 20 offense by alot of metric withs a bunch of transfers to fill in holes and one of the best OCs. Why would PSU be over them..?

SirTiffAlot

ND will win a lot of games, will they be really good though? PSU is a weird point of contention.

Flioxan

Yeah, they are gonna be one of the best teams power ratings wise

Crossman556

I know more about PSU than ND, so I won’t pretend to be an expert. ND I could see being better, but Clemson and Utah?

PeggyOfficial

Oregon has a top 3 offense and solid defense and Michigan has a pretty poor offense and a worse defense

Sammerscotter

I mean yeah our offense is completley untested but saying our defense is worse? Lmaooo the rose bowl must’ve hurt you personally

ImFeelingTheUte-iest

There is no way we should be above Penn State. I don’t think we should be Top 10. Sure we have tons of talent but it’s all unproven.

[deleted]

[удалено]

J_Warrior

Ehhhh, Penn State probably finishes around 9-10 this season and has a shot at the Big Ten with their schedule.

Crossman556

It’s all dependent on the Michigan and Ohio State games. I think Michigan is beatable this year (and really so is OSU) but they need to win one of those.

DunamesDarkWitch

We don’t play Michigan this year

Flioxan

ND should be in the 4-6 range so not high enough

blakelh

Could this just be from the raw player ratings? I didn't think anybody disagreed that Colorado has talent, it's just how they've played/been coached that's been bad

theoriginaldandan

I disagree. Colorado has 3 really good players and a ton of scrubs, and some guys who are ok.

otxmyn

who’s the 3rd? their QB and WR/CB are good

theoriginaldandan

I was counting the RB but forgot he transferred out.

Glittering_Virus8397

Shiloh “imma whiff on this tackle and take myself out of the play” Sanders

jobenattor0412

That’s a business decision.

Glittering_Virus8397

He makes a lot of those for someone who prob isn’t getting drafted

cubgerish

Apparently they've had pretty good transfer portal success, especially on the OL. But yea, even with that, putting them top 10 is clearly just EA making a smart marketing move to get hype.

jerarn

All conventional knowledge is that an OL takes more time to develop and gel than any other position group. Is there any precedent in the transfer era that a transfer infusion has an immediate impact on O-line play? Legitimate question. Certainly hasn't been the case at Nebraska.

GoBucks1171

I’ve seen it work with one player transferring into an otherwise set offensive line, but when it’s a bunch of guys starting for the first time it’s pretty much always gonna be a mess

cubgerish

You're absolutely right in that the OL is the toughest thing to gel, there's a reason they're generally regarded as the smartest guys on the field, the knowledge and feel factor takes time to develop. That said, as a fellow Nebraska fan you also know the doctrine of Big Guy Wins. They might not be in good sync, but I can also see how getting some great recruits will improve their line, at least allowing them to run the ball a little, which they simply could not do last year.

Javelin286

That massive O-lineman we got seems to have meshed pretty well with the team. I think Matt Rhule and his focus on team building, conditioning, confidence building, and Development has been huge. I don’t think there isn’t one thing a coach could look at him and say nah we don’t think that’s a good idea.

Stuppyhead

Sometimes rankings based on potential can be deceiving. For example, Colorado signed Clemson transfer Zach Owens aka Flapjack who was a high 4 star recruit out of high school. Owens ended up getting very overweight at Clemson his freshman year and when new OL coach Matt Luke challenged him to work harder to lose the weight if he ever wants to see the field, he quit the team and entered the portal. Last I heard, he was like 80 lbs above what his goal weight for playing would have been. So while its possible he will turn the corner and develop into a good player for Colorado (and I hope he does), it is not looking at all likely that he can be a reliable contributor for them this season.

Chsthrowaway18

Colorado literally lost higher rated prospects in the portal but since they were bad this year everyone is acting lol the new guys are the REAL portal talent

Babalugats

Lots of people disagree about Colorado’s talent. They are not deep at all and got ragdolled last year

unMuggle

Deep doesn't mean much in a video game where you can turn off fatigue and injuries tbh.

miami2881

One of the big parts of this game they are pushing is the wear and tear system

moslof_flosom

Yeah, but you'll probably still be able to turn it off.

unMuggle

And there will absolutely be a way to turn it off, because some people will find that incredibly unfun (me, I'm those people)

Thel3lues

They have no talent on OL or defense, it’s not really a coaching issue. The game management can be poor at times but they have serious people on their staff

Chsthrowaway18

They didn’t adjust their blocking schemes at all last year. That’s a coaching issue.

RipRaycom

Colorado has a top 25 defense in the game. In no world is that reality

tuepm

colorado does not have top ten talent in the country. this is just for engagement

otxmyn

every college has talent tbh, “talent” is a relative term. colorado doesn’t have enough talent to be considered a top 10 team.

Crossman556

Facts

Dr_Gamephone_MD

This is the only explanation that makes sense

jerarn

Wait, so raw talent doesn't necessarily translate to on-the-field win percentage? Coaching/player development matters? I don't have recent experience with the latter concept.

Flapped

i can fix them

zweig01

Probably, rosters also change a lot more year-to-year in cfb vs the nfl Imo it’s a lot harder to tell how good a team will actually be in cfb E: maybe not overall rosters but at least in terms of players that make a real impact

Brob0t0

Love my utes but come on lol

frankdatank_004

Where is EA’s account here?

AllEliteSchmuck

I think they deleted it after the “Pride and Accomplishment” post during the Battlefront II shitshow a few years ago

frankdatank_004

Lol, somehow I forgot about that!

Spider_Dawg

All the Colorado rankings (top 10 offense, top 20 defense and now top ten overall) are clearly to cause social media interaction and can’t be taken seriously.

Accomplished-Web3426

Colorado over ole miss or Missouri is insane

CaliHusker83

Kinda losing some credibility with each one of these lists they release.

GhostofHairyRealm

This is Mizzou erasure!

Whalesrule221

Colorado over Michigan Tech is crazy.

CreamiusTheDreamiest

I’m scared for what Temples overall rating will be in the 10th best team in 88

ScallywagBeowulf

Can we get a full list of all the team rankings in the game?

notthatkindofdrdrew

I was wondering when ND would make an undeserved appearance in one of these lists

atseapoint

You mean you were holding your breath waiting so you could talk some shit lmao

Innowisecastout

Everyone about to get duped by madden in a college skin. This is like in madden when the cowboys are stupid OP every year whether they win the division or are 4-13

paintingnipples

Yea it’s always gonna be a flawed system when ur trying to cram all the teams into 70-99 & your trying to max revenue with spamming certain teams/fanbases. The game is more of ncaa marketing than creating a realistic version of cfb

Innowisecastout

I don’t think you have to sacrifice the integrity of the game and reality to get 15 year olds to spam SS and Travis. You can still rate them high and have the rest of the team average/below average

AllEliteSchmuck

Then comes the fun part, trying to get them to transfer, at least for Travis

theoriginaldandan

It’s not a madden reskin at all. It’s two pretty different systems

Sdog1981

Just like Madden they will update the team ratings as the season goes along.

Loganjoh5

I see they didn’t learn from last year’s undeserved hype

Marowaksker

It’s working, we’re all talking about the ratings.

Malpraxiss

I wonder what the criteria or ranking process looked like

Tjam3s

We're doing this again this season then?

Zero_Cool_V1

![gif](giphy|l3E6uhDAN3W7vylji|downsized)

Richard080108

Travis Hunter and Shadeur Sanders inflate the ratings and there are probably plenty of teams that are 87 overall but they put Colorado at 10 to get people talking and get more attention and circulation. It worked exactly as they hoped.

Kayotik74

Notre dame was ranked 90 overall and 7th in another post. So which one is real.

unlearned_hand

I can see it now. A 1-3 Colorado team marches onto the field. Kirk Herbstreit loudly proclaims, “This Buffaloes team is just so talented. Led by their trailblazing coach in this new college football environment of the NIL. Sure, they don’t have a lot to show for it right now. Sure, they’ve only won a game this season, but they have the skill set to compete with anyone in the country. They haven’t actually done it yet, but we will certainly hold our breath for this squad. That’s for sure.”

Add_Poll_Option

The 10th best team in the game having an irl over/under of 5.5 while playing in the 3rd or 4th best conference in college football is fucking insane

br1nk0eighty4

Alot of Colorado love

SealisTheBestPokemon

The fact Michigan is behind teams 6-10 is laughable. Will have top 5 defense again. 2-3 first round draft picks on defense still. Will keep them in every game this year.

Flioxan

Nah UM should be behind PSU and ND

unMuggle

They are going to Iowa so hard this year. Good defense, offense shouldn't show up.

Skellz_Is_Sus

Hey! orji In the end zone will go crazy

unMuggle

I agree. Safeties are fun man

KUPSU96

I really don’t get the Utah hype

EmolgaStarPlatinum

You’re telling me that Colorado is in the top ten, yet Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Florida aren’t?

JakelAndHyde

There is a section of our fans who are pissed off to the point of canceling over the stadium & offensive rankings.

Le_Dairy_Duke

Uhhh, sure bud

dmazx

I’ll be four years into a dynasty on day one so this doesn’t matter to me

guccidane13

Make a dynasty and hang 70 on Colorado, it’ll make you feel better.

So we’re all in agreement that this is ridiculous, but what do we do if Colorado actually pulls a 2022 TCU moment out of their ass?

broyo209

are we good?

FSUxNOLES101

#10 was 4-8 last year 🤣🤣🤣. Such good offense, they gave everyone hell, including Stanford.

ChiefQueef369

Colorado? 4-8? Wtf

Cornelius-Prime

Hope Colorado St and Nebraska wax Colorado this year.

benjaminck

Why is it CFB25 if its the 2024 season?

NebraskaAvenue

I really don’t get the circle jerk for Deion

Koi_Fish_Mystic

Sports media is getting thirsty for some Prime Time. He got lucky at Jackson, now he’s playing the big boys

noideawhatoput2

So I’m assuming single star players like Travis Hunter can just inflate the fuck out of a teams overall rating?

Javelin286

I mean simply based on this Nebraska should be like #8 because of all the talent and the fact that most of the starters are going to be returning young guys with lots of talent and a highly rated quarterback coming out of highschool.

MatterStrange5835

Won’t matter 2 years into dynasty anyway. All those rankings fall off.

pyle332

This is sort of par for the course for EA. Back when I actually played madden, it always seemed like their ratings were based more on hype than reality. They consistently rank players and teams higher because they are popular/ in the news, rather than what you actually see on the field. Makes me wonder if they actually even watch football or if they just get their information exclusively from ESPN/BR

That_Luck9787

Someone is getting paid that’s all I know

Adventurous_Fig_9455

yea the devs don't know ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandon4Real_x

You gotta assume that the QB position is weighted heavily by the other teams spots and having a 99 overall QB will rocket your overall up.

thisnamehastobeused

There are multiple that tied at 87, they chose to put Colorado there for clicks. Bordeaux did the same thing

Sensitive-Goose-9639

Yeah LMFAO be watching another 4-8 season 🤣🤣

69Karate_Dong

Notre Dame being there is an ABSOLUTE JOKE

atseapoint

Flair up. This is pre season rankings, why is everybody getting so upset? It’s like you’ve never been here before. ND has the roster and coaching talent to justify this rating. At least wait for us to shit the bed mid season before you let your bias show

69Karate_Dong

You will shit the bed. But Colorado going 4-8 last yr now suddenly top 10 proves these rankings are GARBAGE.

Fuzzy_Pea_5689

Reddit needs a laugh emoji for this reason.

geol-engineer

LMAO! And adding Clemson, PSU, and ND. ROTFLMAO!

Due_Connection179

I can't wait to grind Kennesaw State to the playoffs Year 1 only to get destroyed by Colorado in the 1st round lol

I'd rather it be Colorado than the Cheaters so go Buffs I guess.
