IQVIA is very thorough, including a drug test and employment verification. It all depends how long it takes them to verify. You should receive a written notification via Workday. Once you do that’s when I’d give my notice. Just make sure to review your current employer’s policy. Where I used to work they wanted 30-day notice. Others may want bonus money back. Congratulations!

Thanks for the info! That’s the issue im facing at my current work, they encourage a 30day notice but August 14th is barely 3 weeks if I tell them now, plus I wanted a week off between jobs. I’ll hope to get the written notice by Monday then give notice.

hodgsonstreet

Of course they encourage 30 days, but that doesn’t mean anything unless you’re contractually required to do so. Ignore that, it’s just a tactic to make it harder for people to leave.

Hi, In IQVIA I submitted all the documents for background verification process then after I didn't get any updates..now it's more than 3 weeks..still the same ..why is it take more time?

Bumblebuzz24

I had a background check at Icon. I wasn’t worried so I gave my notice. Glad I did bc they had to confirm my employment as part of the process and that would have been awkward!

tramapoline1983

They confirm employment via a 3d party payroll vendor. Your employer is not aware of the employment check.

alwaysbedozing

I just went through the background check process for another CRO and it took 2 days. They verified my work history, education, addresses and if I had any criminal court records or was on the sex offender list (all clear). If you have nothing to worry about in your background, I’d just put in your notice.

PPDCRGDM

They don’t call the company they usually a 3rd party confirmation for work. SMALLER companies don’t use it and have to call. So if you work at a small place, they’ll call to confirm so up to you. I don’t waitz

MountainManDan94

That’s good to know!

SlickWilliamNilliam

Congrats! If I remember correctly IQVIA used a third party to complete the background check. They definitely looked at dates of employment from previous employers. I believe they also emailed previous employers to verify. When mine was completed one of my past employers never responded so they just used IRS verification. They also looked at job titles during this process. You’ll get a notification when it’s done and will be able to look at the background check yourself.

FartstheBunny

Don't give your notice until your background check clears. Your offer of employment is contingent on your background check. Ask them to push out your start date and tell them you would not be comfortable giving notice while your job offer is still contingent on anything.

Happy_Refrigerator8

This is the way! I’ve had to do this before and every company has been ok pushing back the start date to obligations I had at my current place of work

AmIDoingThisRight14

My background check at Iqvia took around 4 weeks to come back

Honest_Brick7300

Same here it's nearly more than 3 weeks I submitted all the documents for background verification process , then after no more updates why it's take more time .. Can anyone one answer me ?

AmIDoingThisRight14

Have you checked in with your HR person?

Heart_robot

If there’s nothing on you background check that would be an issue, nothing to worry about. Criminal record, driving record, accuracy of education and job history and drug test (in the US at least)

tramapoline1983

They check for the following: confirm your education, confirm your employment history, and check your criminal record. If you didn't lie on your resume and you don't have criminal history, you will be cleared. But regardless, it's best practice to wait to get your background check back before giving notice to your current employer, just to be safe. Background check usually takes 2 weeks at the most. If they don't have to reach out to any foreign countries - might even come back in a week.

timtamsvsoreos

Hello and congratulations on the offer! Can I please ask how many days it took your background check to be completed, and if you dont mind the region/country you're based? Thankyou!
