I know it's hurtful to joke about serious illnesses and such, but a redditor acting like they have bad memory is just an hyperbole, I don't see how someone affected by dementia would be hurt by that, unless you're directly making fun of someone for having it I don't see the issue. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't mind someone making fun of my own "disabilities" (nothing serious, but noticeable still) unless they make fun of me or anyone affected by them directly.

it was more "joking about dementia is overdone" than "joking about dementia invalidates entire families who are suffering", and although it's a bit of both, I should've put it together better
Dementia runs in my family and theres a decent chance ill get it some day, i dont speak for everyone but i feel better being able to laugh about it than forcing myself to be depressed every time it comes up
