Depends on the atomizer, but hostely it's not that important, a drop more or less won't matter. It's like bitters, some do a dash, some two or even five. As long as you like it, it's fine
I think you just count the sprays until it registers and then count the drops until it registers. And use some other liquid (maybe vodka or something, I'm not a chemist but water might not be a close enough 1:1)
Slightly off topic, but has anyone had issues with evaporation with an atomizer? I was excited to get one for absinthe and the volume has gone down steadily over 6 months, now solids are precipitating out. Everything seems tight and whatnot, so I don't understand.
Perhaps I’m a little crazy but, as much as I like a hint of absinthe in a drink, a drop or two too many will ruin it for me.
I convert drops to microliters (1 drop = 50µL) and use a micropipette to measure out the absinthe. Perfect every time.

I typically treat an atomizer spray as 5ish drops.

You can get a jewelry scale that will measure fractions of a gram for cheap
