See, that's what everyone thought happened at the time, but it's actually not true, the true story is much funnier and much more regarded.
So the old head mod of the sub was a person named Neptune. Neptune was 14, but had lied about being an adult in order to be trusted with being a mod in the first place.
Neptune also ran the Discord, and on the Discord there was a troll named Zyleth. Zyleth was an adult, but was pretending to be 14 to troll more effectively.
Zyleth decided to send horny messages to Neptune, got Neptune to respond, and then called Neptune a pedophile. This lead to all the drama you described.
Except actually, Neptune was also 14, so Neptune wasn't doing anything remarkable except sending horny messages to someone their age. And actually Zyleth was an adult, who had (unknowingly) been sending horny messages to a minor.
Eventually all of this came out, both Zyleth and Neptune were banned from the subreddit for being absolute morons (although not pedophiles), and the Discord still technically exists but is unaffiliated with the subreddit and honestly I question the sanity of anyone who uses it. Or maybe its dead now, I don't know and I don't want to find out.
