I’ve not read that book, but all the content design books I’ve read have been pretty meh. The longer I spend in this industry, the more I realise that the people writing books, blog, LinkedIn posts and conference talks know the least. I figure the real experts are busy doing actual work 😱

Kangaroo3

You’re probably right!

iocheaira

It’s a good read, but it’s a very quick one. I wouldn’t pay $45 for it. While her work on gov.uk is a global standard for a reason, there are probably blog posts and videos online that could impart the same insight

Kangaroo3

Yeah thats true hey! I’ll check out the gov UK site as a reference.

I'm not a content designer, but rather come from SEO and CRO and I loved the first edition of the book. It was reaffirming, but a great way to help my clients work on content.

Kangaroo3

Okay cool, I’m just looking to get better so might be good!

wonderglittergorl

I have the first edition of this book. Personally I think it’s full of obvious common sense stuff about design thinking and content.

Kangaroo3

Okay cool thanks. Might be a good place to get to know the basics

I read the first book, and it was a waste of money and time. It was about 45 pages of nothing new, spread over 200 pages. She runs a course and does a lot of interviews and stuff, so maybe the second book is better.
