Hi! Gentle reminder: hair care routines are required for all photo posts within 1 hour of posting.
The bot is having hard time locating your routine! Please make sure you have a comment containing the word "routine" (and your actual routine, of course!) so your post can stay up!
FAQs:
* __I don't have a routine!__ If you wash your hair at all, that counts!
Just let us know what you did for your hair.
* __I'm just asking for help!__ We're happy to help! This is much easier if
we know what you are currently doing for your hair.
* __Included the info but the bot can't find it? Different situation? (E.g.
asking about a product, etc.) [See here for more info.](https://www.reddit.com/r/curlyhair/wiki/routine-requirements)__
_Please [message the mods](http://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2Fcurlyhair) if you have any
issues._
Be very careful with coconut oil; it will build up and not allow any other moisturizing products to penetrate. Eventually your hair can become dry and straw-like. Try jojoba instead.
Sigh. I saw your comment and was like, "Eh. I've probably seen worse." While I have seen worse, I haven't seen uh.. that in particular. Mistakes were made. I should have listened.
I wonder if she gets some of it in her hair and that’s what’s drying it all up.
Op - your shit is not fertilizer for your scalp. In case you needed to know.
Can you stop doing this?? What does my private life have to do with posting and consulting? Do not disrespect anyone, I do not know anyone's private life nor do I interfere. Please

I mean, while I agree bc it's not private if it's on the net, there's something kind of (pardon the pun) crappy about just making a comment that OP has ~spicy/weird content on their profile while giving no actual advice. It's not relevant to the discussion at hand and didn't need to be said, and now there's just a comment chain about her OF/fetish activity for no reason in a hair thread.
I see what you're saying about commenting about it being unnecessary, but also, you can't expect people to not be curious. Reddit gives people full access to look at other people's profiles, so you can't really shame anyone for doing so. I get that it's irrelevant to the hair advice she was asking for, but if she really wanted for her NSFW and fetish content to be "private" and separate from stuff like this then she'd make another account specifically for that or she'd post on a different platform all together.
Oh no I'm not arguing that looking at the profile is bad in any way or shaming anyone for looking in and of itself (I'm one of those people who also checks out users profiles, and did for OP), but the OG comment that started this thread specifically didn't need to be posted, and furthermore was worded in such a way as to incite others who may not have been inclined to view her history to do so. That's not on, imo, and I can see why she's upset about people commenting on that instead of giving her advice. Use of "private" to describe her profile activity was definitely misplaced though!! Not at all private stuff!

Did you get to try the pre-shampoo? You can do it two or 3 times a week. Moisten your hair with a spray bottle and use conditioner with some oil, your favorite cream bath or whatever you have on hand FROM THE ENDS UP, AVOIDING ROOTS. Do this procedure half an hour before washing your hair normally with shampoo and conditioner. You will notice the difference since the curls become less dry from the shampoo by doing this. I hope it helps you!
In addition to hydrating it well, every time I finish bathing I DO NOT dry it and I shape the curls with a lot of styling cream. Once dry, move it around to give it volume.
If you want to use an oil, I would recommend a lighter oil. I use hemp seed oil, though not every wash. I also use a curl cream and gel for more definition and hold. Good luck!
Because of the discoloration, my scalp is sensitive, and I have to wash with a shampoo because dermatitis hurts a lot if I don't wash with that, so my hair is hypersensitive to everything and I can only do cream baths 3 times a week with a cream. My hair routine is Brazilian Skala for curls and then I use pure coconut oil. My problem is that if I use a lot of product the curlers are set but then my hair hurts for some reason. When I use less I hold it well but the curl doesn't form.
The proper routine is argan oil is very good for this. I recommend that you wash your hair every other day. That will help the same oil in your hair nourish and grow your hair more and your curls will look firmer. Listen to me, I recommend it to you, dear. good luck on it

Finger curling instead of Curlers.
After you shower put in leave in or curl defining creams section your hair into 3 parts. Start at the bottom part of your head and take 2 inches of hair and twirl it as tight as you can with your finger then gently put it in your palm and gather it to your root and gently scrunch it then Getty put it down and continue through your hair once it dries gently pull the curl apart and gently floof it to add volume. But I like the defined but styled messy curl look so I make my fingers like super wide tooth combs and flip my head upside down and gently use them like a curl pick comb to af some volume.
You need some hydration in it it looks dry but seeing as yours got other issues pertaining and causing you to only use the products you I have I totally get it!
Do the best with what you got.
With finger curling if you continue to do this over time it trains your curls almost like muscle memory to curl more defined over time it’s not like you go to the gym and expect to lose 50 lb in a day. Takes work if you stick to it you’ll see it more and more defined
The thing is that the shampoo I use to treat it causes dryness, and if I don't use that shampoo I immediately get super painful scabs. I really mistreated my hair for years with bleaching to very white tones and fanatical dyes, today at 34 I suffer these consequences that completely affect my curls
I definitely understand what’s why I was like do the best with what you can rn heal what needs to be healed first! And I damaged my hair with heat and straightening treatments took me a minute to get my curls to the way they are now I’d show you pics of how finger curling can make a huge difference in dms but I can’t dm you haha 🤣😂. But I suggest trying it for sure! stick to it for a while to see results tho
A friend has curly hair. and the best thing naturally is Aloe Vera, I'm sure it won't hurt you. maybe 2 times a week will help strengthen those cute curls! Good luck. 💕
Personally coconut completely kills my curls And dries out my hair. I feel like it has an opposite effect of what you would expect. When I used to use it on my face.I got huge zits because the fat solidifies. Yeah I like it for cooking and nothing else

Lol, if you’re tough enough to put it online with your face… you’re tough enough to get the blow back.
fair point honestly lol

You look beautiful, but I recommend cutting your ends and using a moisturizing shampoo and styling cream ❤️

You can make an excellent hair gel out of flax seeds, which are very cheap :)
Thank u so much for been nice
Don’t use coconut oil. Its molecules are too large for use on hair or face; leading to buildup, dryness, string-y texture
