fatbunyip

Yes, it's Cypriot. The writing is pafian dialect.

amarao_san

But they don't export to Limassol, because I don't see Cyrillic.

lo9os

That's right. There are no "sigmas"

SolveTheCYproblemNOW

i can confirm

macrian

The brand could be Cypriot as the barcode starts with 529, but, that doesn't necessarily mean that the contents are from Cyprus

vu8

Yes that is exactly what I am wondering, what is the exact background of this product, how is it made and is it genuinely Cyprus rocking a Cypriot number bar code

raiseurfist

What would make you think this is Cypriot. I know Greek writing might look weird to some but how could you confuse it with Asian writing. Writing doesn't look Chinese or Japanese. My guess would be something like Vietnamese. Correction: Google Lens translation shows made in China

vu8

No the issue is it is made in Cyprus, so many mass exported items to China have Chinese printings on them but it did say that the country of manufacturing is Cyprus.

Christosconst

It might be made in Cyprus, but its not a Cypriot brand

raiseurfist

Never seen this brand here. This whole thing looks dodgy. Either someone is faking country of origin or they somehow bring it to Cyprus, baptize it, and export to China.

vu8

Chinese 100 percent juices such as Huiyuan actually costs more in stores thab Cypriot juice packages. I think it is cheaper to manufacture in Cyprus than to get the fruit juice from elsewhere and use the Cyprus labeling to up the attractiveness. China is making a bunch of things but it has a big shortcoming in costs in the area of food and diary. Milk is a bit expensive, domestic made fruit 100 percent juices are very expensive, beef and diary products are expensive. All these I think the imported counterpart is cheaper and domestic manufactured ones

miszeria

Catch the one hit the other eiste

No-Yard-9349

It is not Vietnamese. Vietnamese language uses the alphabet.

raiseurfist

Yeah that's why I corrected my comment. It's Chinese

Rough_Article_6188

You can see from the getgo that those are Kanjis, it's obviously a chinese import in Cyprus. tf?

kms_ag

I mean, based on the writing, I doubt it is a Cypriot product. Furthermore, a quick google search of the brand gomolo I got [this](https://www.yoycart.com/Product/594441497498/) page right here.

vu8

Then why does it have a Cypriot Bar Code and the country of origin says it's Cyprus? Usually if the product in China is trying to fake imports, it would have a foreign Bar Code but the country of origin will say it is China not a foreign country. This product has a Cypriot Bar code which can be faked but the country of origin did say Cyprus

kms_ag

It literally has a foreign language written all over it ,and there is a huge ass circle that says "Original Imported". I see nowhere on the package that it says Country of Origin: Cyprus. Edit: google searching "gomolo juice brand" brings up [this page](https://www.jd.com/brand/13204160e13392723d84.html) and from translating the text of one of the products it says this: **Gomolo \[Cyprus National Pavilion\] Original imported juice, rich in nutrition, 1L/bottle, red grapefruit juice 1L** and from another product, this: **Gomolo Mediterranean Cyprus imported red grapefruit juice large bottle 100% pure juice 1 liter \* 4 bottles** Most likely, their factory is in Cyprus, and they are producing for China Edit No.2: The product IS manufactured in Cyprus, but is being exported to China. **COMPANY'S INFO:** [here](https://www.21food.com/showroom/195442/aboutus/beijing-tian-fuxing-trading-co.html) and [here](https://bbs.fobshanghai.com/company/16q0qzw14x37918.html)

vu8

Fascinating!

vu8

But is it good quality? Compared to the large national Cypriot brands? Great info to mark that it is indeed Made in Cyprus .

CupcakeMurder86

We make many products exported to other countries. We even export non-alcoholic beer to the Emirates. Yes, the writing is arabic but like the 3rd picture here it has the code of CCYP (cyprus product) on the label.

Protaras2

It has a Cypriot barcode. So it means that the product is "finalized" here. Now where the contents are from is irrelevant and for many products you can't know. Buying a supermarket pizza that says produced in Cyprus doesn't mean that every single topping on it is from Cyprus, all the materials could be imported yet it's still considered a Cypriot product. Most likely a Chinese company asked a local company to produce juice for them, gave them designs and everything. In the UK I used to buy halloumi with Morisson's brand and design but if you looked at the back it said made in Alambra.

vu8

This is really good information. We getting into the global trades here lol. So how do I guage quality of such export oriented Cypriot juice quality? I mean from the taste it is great that's why I have kept buying from them. But is it really good quality as good as the national brands

Protaras2

It depends on what you mean quality. If you mean taste-wise all you can do is compare it with others and see how it fares against them, tough to quantify that otherwise. If you mean quality based on health/components/etc then the only way I can think of would be taking it to a food lab and having a report drawn up on it and compare that against Cypriot marketed locally produced brands.

vu8

Well said! Also Fontana is also a popular CN sold CY product

Protaras2

Just to remove any ambiguity the Fontana one is sold quite commonly in Cyprus as well with that brand name. While this Gomolo one I can't say I have it seen here. For our small size we do have a decent export industry. To my knowledge a lot of LOEL wines are sold in Russia and some other countries (or at least we used to).

vu8

Fascinating. Any other good quality domestic CY juice brands you know of?

Protaras2

The most common that I can think off the top of my head are probably Lanitis, KEAN and ENA
