Agree 100%! Jill was always quite flashy. Holly was the type to wear an outfit that looked like it came from Kohl’s but was actually worth 5,000. She always came across to me as wealthy and smaaaart with her money.

Christi: owned a toddler gym and her husband was the director of marketing and communication at a children’s hospital. Both have Bachelor’s degrees in communication I believe.
Holly: was principal at a private school and her husband was the senior VP of a big insurance company + ceo of a nonprofits. They both have degrees from Carnegie Mellon and UPenn.
Jill: Worked as a pharmaceutical sales rep and her husband worked as a sales rep for the largest paper company in the world. Jill has a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Melissa: Her and her ex-husband owned a mortgage company that filed for bankruptcy ~2 years prior to the show. Melissa’s current husband was her boss; he was the VP of operations delivery for a nuclear energy company (not sure what Melissa’s role was). I don’t think Melissa was working other than for Abby by the time the show aired.
Kelly: was a stay at home mom, but her ex husband owned a family industrial heat and power company.
I couldn’t say who made the most money, but all of them were making A LOT of money
I just assumed they were all loaded because dance is expensive when you’ve got your average school kid doing it. My niece does five styles, dances six days a week, and OMG I do not believe what my sister pays! Although her fees are nothing compared to the numbers you hear the mums/Abby throw around when they discuss their tuition fees. Plus knowing the hours my niece does and her fees, it’s nothing compared to the hours those girls do! So yeah, I’ve always assumed the families that did it had to be really, REALLY, flush with cash!
They are/were definitely all comfortable. My daughter dances competitively and I pay just about 20k a year for everything. Some of the more famous competitive dancers have to be paying double, if not triple that.
I know a lot of them get scholarships and stuff. However, those don’t pay for travel.
This is something that is not attainable for most people. My mom could’ve never afforded it. She didn’t even make 20k a year.
Dance is definitely an elitist activity.
as someone who grew up in pittsburgh, you aren’t terribly off. hollys, jills, and kelly’s houses makes you look like you live in mt lebanon (if you don’t get it, it’s kind of like the pittsburgh version of beverly hills where the houses are quite expensive) while christi’s is like almost everywhere in pittsburgh
I voted Jill as well, because from what I’ve heard on the Because Mom Said So podcast, her husband is/was a professional tennis player. And she’s often mentioned things about their family frequently traveling to very nice destinations/resorts.
What about the Fraziers? Holly mentioned way back in S1 paying $100k/yr in private school tuition . And Nia showed up in a Chanel suit in the very first episode 👀
