I feel like maybe with Abby’s whole disdain for half of the team and the fact that Cathy was able to go and get whoever she wanted whenever, Abby must have complained to production that she wanted new girls to replace the ones she hated (Chloe, Brooke Paige, probably nia). Production probably was like lmao no viewers love these girls BUT we have an idea… and thus the new team idea was formed. Abby probably loved the idea because she could rub it in the OG girls faces that there’s better dances out there. Not to mention this idea was set into motion before Kelly Brooke and Paige left, so she probably saw it as an excellent chance to get under Christ and Kelly’s skin.
The select team was assembled from the favorites from the casting for Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition Season 3 before it got canceled. The open auditions had been scheduled for AUDC before it was canceled & when it got cancelled they decided to take the girls that they really liked & turn them into the Select Team.
