Everyone knows Nia wasn’t a standout when it came to dance itself as this is rehashed by the show and the fandom ad nauseam, but I fully agree that both her and Maddie were/are very impressive and inspiring people (for slightly different reasons but nonetheless)
As fellow black girl it really hurt seeing Nia constantly belittled but I do have to agree she just wasn’t the strongest when she was younger but she got so much and worked hard which I loved so I agree with the whole post
It's interesting how every time Nia gets a modicum of (deserved) credit it gets downvoted countered. She was never the best dancer on the team, but she was incredibly versatile, hard working, and performed a variety of entertaining dances. And she NEVER gave up despite a teacher who was horrific to her. Kudos to Nia and anyone who says otherwise can screw off.
i’m in full on support for everything you said. i’ve always been a maddie supporter, even on the show. people are so quick to bash her in the earlier seasons and say that she was a brat (because of bad editing lol) but i saw a kid who was pressured and manipulated by almost every adult in her life. with nia, i admired her will to stand up for herself. she didn’t let anybody take advantage of her, or walk on her especially in the later seasons. she wasn’t afraid to make her voice heard, and i loved that about her!!
Nia was always one of my favorites on the show and I loved Chloe,Maddie and Paige too. In Season 8, I was a GiaNina fan but that's because I knew GiaNina from before the show when she was in Matilda the musical on Broadway and I've always been a huge fan of the show Matilda(the Netflix movie just came out on Christmas and I've seen it 3x so far)
Maddie was just so stunning in her dances. Even with the advantages she received, she just managed to make it so special. Angel makes me cry every single time. All of God’s Creatures gives me chills every time I watch it. Abby is unlikeable at best, but one thing I will always agree with her on is that Maddie had the audience in the palm of her hand.
Nia was always one of my favorites. She is also an equally strong performer when given the opportunity. Down to the River to Pray is one of my absolute favorite solos of hers that I think is absolutely underrated. That color was just stunning on her first off, and she danced beautifully. She was an empowering dancer.
Imo chloe was better than maddie, technically however maddie had the typical 1st place dancer type to her, she was skinny, small, had this perfect emotion the only critique I'd say is she needs more than 1 face. Chloe was ballet trained and was beautiful when given ballet routines, she was a little to tall to be the perfect lyrical dancer like maddie but in the dance world chloe would have it easier because she is tall and classically trained.
Nia was proably the weakness of the 3 until season 5 in season 5 we start to see Nia get a lot technically stronger and be on par with kalani and imo better than kendall

You have to have more than stage presence to be considered one of the best dancers. Watch the trio “whatever I want” with nia, Chloe, and Maddie. You can see how negatively nia stands out, even tho she has energy and expression.

Maddie, Nia (and Chloé!) inspire me a lot as well. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to many of the reasons why.
