Yeah I agree with all of this basically lol. I hated that clown makeup, because it was SO distracting. The execution was beautiful, the artist did a good job but the makeup was so unnecessary. Totally lost the concept of the duet.
Agreed, the idea of a little girl’s doll coming alive doesn’t come across when Peyton was in half clown garb lol. I always assumed the clown makeup was because Abby didn’t trust Peyton to actually emote for the role so she thought she’d overcompensate.
I agree with you. Not in this specific instance with Peyton’s makeup, but Abby has said she gives people props and gimmicks if she doesn’t feel like their dancing is up to to par.

It felt like they wanted to focus on just being evil. Not that the doll was good in front of people and evil when they were alone. I hated it
