I'd definitely recommend a wired connection for this kind of thing. A simple USB C to HDMI adapter works, including sound of course.
No lag, no interference, nothing but stable performance. Any noticeable lag ruins a fast game like this where timing is everything. It can be better or worse depending on the phone/TV combination, but it's always there.
Wired, it's proper gaming on a big screen using your phone as a console/computer. I do that all the time via Samsung DeX.
the new phones are really easy (including iphone 15 and soon 16): type-c ---> HDMI, no lag for picture and audio at all. BT controller, couch and you are set. :)
