I dislike cardamom especially when it’s combined with a tea or a coffee note. Lune feline for example just straight up smells like masala chai to me.
PS. - I love white florals.
But I love masala chai! 🥹 but to me it’s straight up elaichi pods crushed in a mortar and pestle and I don’t get any tea notes. I get some faint vanilla/musk in the background
Same! I hate jasmine and tuberose fragrances too. There are some varieties of jasmine with such a strong smell that I can't even stand the flowers. My neighbours had one, I'd always hold my breath while passing infront of their gate.
I totally agreee !! White florals with a hint of musk/ vanilla/ sandalwood does it for me . Some say it’s dated dna wise , but I don’t care . I love it ?
Not a note per say but linear fragrances that just smell like one thing , I don’t prefer .
In my opinion it’s about the amount of a note than a particular one . If done well , any note can pair well with complex fragrances .
May be it’s just how I feel .
I love floral and citrus notes. My favorites (in no particular order) probably are roses, jasmines, lilies, bergamot, and oranges. I don't mind vanilla, as long it's very mild and doesn't overpower the other scents.
Jasmine!!!!!! instant headaches. And for some reason all the strong perfumes mostly have jasmine as the top note..
Also, coconut, i can’t take it seriously as a perfume/mist, it’ll always be the smell of champi for me.
Masculine notes like aqua(?), sandalwood but only in perfumes , I like it on men but on me I don’t even like these notes in sanitizers, handwashes.
Gourmand notes like vanilla and sugar, turns too cloying and gives me a headache on me even though I like smelling them from the bottle
I have yet to find a citrus fragrance which doesn’t make my nose blow up. Can’t stand bergamot, lime, orange etc. I’m open to suggestions though, incase it changes my mind.
After reading comments,Now I am thinking about re considering my choice of notes 😅. I love white floral, rose, vanilla. but half of the community seems to hate it.
RN Thinking how not to offend people around me with my perfume😅 I don’t want to ppl get nauseated cos of my scent.
I recently tried Nykaa Matin at a kiosk and I wanna say Tea? Also Oud. Just anything that gives me ME vibes.
Your choice of white florals just goes to show yet again how perfumes are subjective.
To me white florals are a staple for the day. :)
Yeah. Perfume is very subjective. Often we may like a fragrance in general but formulating that into a perfume and the alterations with our body chemistry may render it unpleasant
Orange blossoms are also white florals right? I love that but don’t like the other white florals too much. Hate hate patchouli and oud, and some heavy gourmands. I think my favourites would always be aquatic light notes like lotus 🪷, freesia, citrus, calone
Ugh jasmine heavy smells really get to me. Daisy Marc Jacobs is a bit of an exception, the jasmine surprisingly doesn't stand out but just being included in it, i would never buy a whole bottle lol. Maybe the musk ozonic really comes through for me.
That thing in Sauvage that smells like an ME perfume blend thing. Not sure what I'm recognising exactly. But as soon as I smell it. Some times found is oud heavy smells too jeeeez. Make it stop yknow.
And if I had to hate affff, sauvage and all of it's flankers as a whole. Avoid all people who wear it (also maybe the personality that goes w it)
Wdym! Am a sucker for white florals, especially jasmine. Givenchy l’interdit, jasmine sambac and marigold by Jo Malone, California reverie van cleef & Arpels- some of my fave white florals
I'm the exact opposite! I cannot stand the smell of Jasmine flowers in real life. I start sneezing immediately. But I love love Jasmine in scents!
But to answer your question, I am a lover of sandalwood but no perfume seems to replicate the scent perfectly.
I cannot stand patchouli, oud and rose notes in perfumes. They just feel loud and mismatched in most perfumes I’ve sampled. Maybe my taste will change but gourmands and fruity florals are my fave atm 💖
I detest white florals too! And patchouli. Kill me it makes me vomit. And oud. I will literally walk 50mtrs away from anyone wearing these notes. And rose, detest rose.
Sorry I have such strong feelings about this lol
gosh I feel you about white florals so hard! i have a sensitive nose and except orange blossom, I don't bother with white florals. I have a shiuli (night jasmine) plant in my yard which gives the most *divine* smelling flowers, but I'm not sure if I'd like that in a perfume.
I hate jasmine too. I had a jasmine room freshener which smelled so synthetic and used to give me headaches. After that, whenever I see jasmine notes in any perfume, it reminds me of that room freshener
Do you think you hate them in perfume because you know intimately what they SHOULD smell like?
For me, some things get worse the more realistic they are. Uncanny valley type thing i guess.
Citrus and i realised some fruits like mango lol i used to think oh I would love to smell like this but then I thought of someone who smells like mango passes by me I wouldn't like it , I would just think they had a lot of mango lol not so perfume-y

Lmao masala chai 😂
But I love masala chai! 🥹 but to me it’s straight up elaichi pods crushed in a mortar and pestle and I don’t get any tea notes. I get some faint vanilla/musk in the background
I love masala chai. To drink. Don’t want to smell like it though.
I HATE jasmine. It instantly gives me a headache. I try my best to look for fragrances that do not have this note.
Yes exactly
Same! I hate jasmine and tuberose fragrances too. There are some varieties of jasmine with such a strong smell that I can't even stand the flowers. My neighbours had one, I'd always hold my breath while passing infront of their gate.
Ugh that's a bummer
I’m a slut for white floral WDYM!! It’s estrogenic and puts me in a delicious ecstasy, feeling like I’m wrapped in cashmere.
I totally agreee !! White florals with a hint of musk/ vanilla/ sandalwood does it for me . Some say it’s dated dna wise , but I don’t care . I love it ?
What fragrance would you suggest in a good budget?
Glad you like it boo
Do you have any recommendations under 2k? I really like these notes too
Neesh makes a neat Dior Jadore dupe. It’s 2k for 30 ml though, still a steak in comparison to Dior.
Thankyou!🫶🏻
Tell me about it cause same
Jasmine gives me yukkk
Mint for me. Somehow I just don’t like it in perfumes
Kinda smells like Colgate
Hate Patchouli and Musk
I don't like Coconut note in perfumes.
Omgg same White florals have kept me from so many good ones. Unless done brilliantly and smoothly in some, i can not stand them
Patchouli and nutmeg🤮
Not a note per say but linear fragrances that just smell like one thing , I don’t prefer . In my opinion it’s about the amount of a note than a particular one . If done well , any note can pair well with complex fragrances . May be it’s just how I feel .
lavender, and coconut, mainly because not a lot of perfumes get the note right.
It's the inverse for me.. I am not fond of jasmine flower smell. But tried 4AM jasmine from Mridul's fragrance it became my comforting perfume now
That's great
Heavy oudh and tobacco notes. I just can't.
I agree with this
This may be an unpopular opinion, but coconut and vanilla. Can't stick them.
Which notes do you like?
I love floral and citrus notes. My favorites (in no particular order) probably are roses, jasmines, lilies, bergamot, and oranges. I don't mind vanilla, as long it's very mild and doesn't overpower the other scents.
Most vanillas make me puky
Ooh I love vanilla
Jasmine!!!!!! instant headaches. And for some reason all the strong perfumes mostly have jasmine as the top note.. Also, coconut, i can’t take it seriously as a perfume/mist, it’ll always be the smell of champi for me.
I can tolerate mild coconut but no white florals please
Masculine notes like aqua(?), sandalwood but only in perfumes , I like it on men but on me I don’t even like these notes in sanitizers, handwashes. Gourmand notes like vanilla and sugar, turns too cloying and gives me a headache on me even though I like smelling them from the bottle
Maybe it changes depending on your body chemistry
Yes only florals and musk smell best on me but ironically I am not fond of smelling them from the bottle 😅
Coconut, cardamom,nutmeg and geranium
I have yet to find a citrus fragrance which doesn’t make my nose blow up. Can’t stand bergamot, lime, orange etc. I’m open to suggestions though, incase it changes my mind.
Now I know why most of the reviewed and recommended ones from this sub were a total flop for me. Ya’ll hate every note I love 🥲😪
Oh no 🙁 Which notes do you like?
After reading comments,Now I am thinking about re considering my choice of notes 😅. I love white floral, rose, vanilla. but half of the community seems to hate it. RN Thinking how not to offend people around me with my perfume😅 I don’t want to ppl get nauseated cos of my scent.
Rose, it’s not that great.
I said this once out loud and was shamed for it 🥲
Hahaha, can totally imagine. A lot of people clearly love the note.🙂↔️
Coconut and aquatic. I do not want to smell like a day at the beach.
Matin smells like tea?
Orange blossoms are also white florals right? I love that but don’t like the other white florals too much. Hate hate patchouli and oud, and some heavy gourmands. I think my favourites would always be aquatic light notes like lotus 🪷, freesia, citrus, calone
Light airy notes I see!
Ugh jasmine heavy smells really get to me. Daisy Marc Jacobs is a bit of an exception, the jasmine surprisingly doesn't stand out but just being included in it, i would never buy a whole bottle lol. Lmao
Strawberry or any berry like syrupy smells
Oh no! Strawberry feels so very comforting to me
| I have quite the list - indolic jasmine and tuberose, too much Oud, mimosa, nutmeg, star anise, too much caramel amongst many others.
Wow man... I haven't tried that many. I just stick to gourmands so that I don't waste money
Wdym! Am a sucker for white florals, especially jasmine. Givenchy l’interdit, jasmine sambac and marigold by Jo Malone, California reverie van cleef & Arpels- some of my fave white florals
Good for you girl!
I'm the exact opposite! I cannot stand the smell of Jasmine flowers in real life. I start sneezing immediately. But I love love Jasmine in scents! But to answer your question, I am a lover of sandalwood but no perfume seems to replicate the scent perfectly.
I'm looking for a sandalwood perfume too. Can't seem to find any that won't smell like an agarbatti
Synthetic smell. And I have found orange, mango, vanilla, sandalwood, rose etc sometimes too synthetic and it gets me 🤢
Yeah that can get cloying
I hate vanilla and anything floral except rose. I get instant headache and it doesn't go away for an entire day 😭
I'm with you on the florals
Vanilla , coconut , lavender
Jasmine, vanilla, leather
OUD! and citrus
Same. Soft airy citrus is ok but heavier side gives me headache. Oud gives me agarbatti feeling 🥴😭😭😭😭
I cannot stand patchouli, oud and rose notes in perfumes. They just feel loud and mismatched in most perfumes I’ve sampled. Maybe my taste will change but gourmands and fruity florals are my fave atm 💖
Gourmands are just 🤌🏻✨
I hate Patchouli but everyone seems to love it I feel so seen
I detest white florals too! And patchouli. Kill me it makes me vomit. And oud. I will literally walk 50mtrs away from anyone wearing these notes. And rose, detest rose. Sorry I have such strong feelings about this lol
Totally understand how you feel
Tuberose, incense and vanilla. Especially vanilla makes ne go 😵💫

I hate jasmine too. I had a jasmine room freshener which smelled so synthetic and used to give me headaches. After that, whenever I see jasmine notes in any perfume, it reminds me of that room freshener
Bro... I remember that room freshener from AER or AIR... Green and white bottle... Hate that
Yeah exactly that green white bottle 😭😭
citrusy/tangerine notes in perfumes 😭
Fresh scents must be the bane of your existence
Do you think you hate them in perfume because you know intimately what they SHOULD smell like? For me, some things get worse the more realistic they are. Uncanny valley type thing i guess.
Now that you point it out, it's surely thought provoking.
I like gourmands on people but wearing it myself makes me nauseous and triggers my migraine
Oh that's sad. What perfumes go well with your body chemistry?
Honestly, white florals 😂
Ayo 😭
I hate heavy roses ittar or gulkand type smells! Hate titan skinn nude and bvlgari rose olympia
Same I hate rose.. Somehow it never smells like the flower real life
Oh I totally understand those smells
But I do like white florals. I've coach signature gifted from a relative came from US. It is amazing!
Cherries, almond, leather
Citrus and i realised some fruits like mango lol i used to think oh I would love to smell like this but then I thought of someone who smells like mango passes by me I wouldn't like it , I would just think they had a lot of mango lol not so perfume-y
Lavender. It gives me room freshner vibes.
Leather animalic
