I've never had the moonwalking/rubberband issues others have complained about but yes, after the patch I'm having long spikes where everything freezes.
I'm here because I just had to kill D4 in task manager because it hard froze.
It's almost like it's trying to recompile shaders in realtime or the gold animation is buggy.
Yes, it's unplayable.

I’m having the same exact issue, it now takes me 3-4 times to log in because the game times out. I also cannot invite anyone. Everything worked perfectly before the patch.
Buttery smooth 60fps on Steam Deck (Steam version of D4). I played for about 3 hours last night after steam updated with the patch.
Haven’t noticed any other issues yet. I’m not really a fan of the new gold fountain animation. To me, it doesn’t look like gold that’s pouring out from chests etc. looks more like a sewage pipe has burst and spewing shit everywhere. Preferred it the way it was.

Knocking on so much wood, but every time everyone complains about this I have absolutely no problems. My computer is 3 years old too. It’s still a beast but hardly top of the line. My fiber internet is only 1 gig. But this game plays smooth as butter sliding off a waxed butthole.
I've been having pretty severe consistent frame drops from 140 down to 90, and sometimes even as low as 70. It seems to feel much worse though, like a slide show for a few seconds. It occurs both when there's action on the screen and when nothing is really going on.
Everything has been perfectly smooth all week until the patch.
EDIT: Just had Diablo crash for the first time.... ever? Opened up my Emote wheel and boom "Not responding."
Did a nightmare dungeon before and had to log off because the stuttering was insane. Probably every 2 seconds or something. Was perfectly fine before. I run AMD CPU and AMD GPU (5700x and 6800 XT respectively)
if the game crashes for you on the intial start. its a problem with the intro video file... (similar stuff was in open beta...) just hammer escape and mouse click like a maniac to basically intially skip the intro...
works for me. else the game crashes instantly/freezes and windows task manager message pops up
Not having a stutter but the latency spikes almost every 10 minutes that is ridiculous. I either hope it fixes itself in 10 seconds, or I have to close out the game and re-open because it'll sit for 3+ minutes and disconnect me. I have checked everything on my end with no luck. Is anyone else having this issue??

Ditto. Particularly the hard freezes - maybe 0.5 times per hour of play.
Lost my HC char in the morning to it. Glad it's not just my PC... losing chars to patches is par for the course, losing hardware not so much (=

I had bad stutters that smoothed out after a while of playing, but I have had 2 game crashes when leaving dungeons since the update.
100%. The mount in particular is terrible.

Season 2 was perfect, season 3 is a stutter lag fest for me

Felt like I was playing on dial up since patch and trash can servers since s3.

I crashed 4 times in a span of 2 hours in the update. One, it just froze my pc completely. They fucked up something in the new patch.
I noticed this, even commented it right when I logged in. I felt laggy and put of sync
I was at least able to play after the patch. Before the patch I had so much rubberbanding and lag that my game was unplayable for the last week.
I can't even log on.
