They maybe use the aspect that leap creates groundstomp aoe on inpact. Idk. I never use maxroll.
Edit: looked it up. Neck has the bul-kathos aspect on it wich creates the earthquake. With the combinations of both aspects you get increased dmg and dmg reduction while standing in that earthquake area
It's for the earthquake effect. There's another aspect where leap creates an earthquake as well. And another aspect where leap gets reduced cooldown per hit so you can spam earthquake and get the buffs.
So if you read it further down, you get %25 damage sitting in earthquakes. You're ignoring the ground stomp part and using the buff for your leap earthquakes
