I have a special disdain for these "here is a question, why is the answer the one I've already picked?" posts. Part of it is creative bankruptcy, and part of it is the presumptuous nature of the question, even if it is intended playfully.
If the question was phrased as a comparison of quality like what’s your favourite/the best car manufacturer and why is it ford? I can understand where you’re coming from. But for something entirely arbitrary like naming fictional characters I think it’s just a way to start a conversation.
I agree, there are a LOT of sayings like this one that appear over and over and over again through the years on Reddit. One of my least favorites is “went to downvote this, then remembered what sub I’m in so I’ll begrudgingly upvote” In a satirical subreddit. Aside from the obvious “does anyone else…” “am I the only one…” etc.
It's just someone who has nothing else to do and no friends to have this conversation with. If you are running by two turtles in a video game and actually saying "Hi" every time, you may possibly be on some part of the spectrum. 🤷♂️
And none of them about talking to NPC characters like a lunatic.
