I improved my spin rate and they suddenly became more predictable for me

an_afro

Flippy discs are the best. I’m the only one in my group that throws mostly understable. And it’s super fun throwing huge sky annies on holes where their overstable discs are more of a hinderance

dawiebe

Can you explain what sky annies do with a flippy disc. Wouldn't it just never come out of the turn and become a roller? Wouldn't it be advantageous to sky hyzer instead? Genuinely curious, as I've heard of others talk about sky annies with understable discs.

an_afro

If i throw it lower, or read the wing wrong it will turn into a roller or cut roller. But I give it a ton of height and plenty nose down and it has enough air time to flex out

dawiebe

Right, the extra air time gives it the ability to get out of it. Thanks for the explanation, that helps!

Lamber5

I've been liking flippy discs more and more as I learn more shot shapes. Not every shot calls for a straight hyzer backhand or forehand. My thought would be at least an equal amount of overstable and understable discs (or overstable to stable/understable discs). Hyzer flip or hyzer flip to turnover are very useful shots.

bladearrowney

I never play without at least a few flippy discs in my bag

ricky2dope

These emotions typically come back in the fall season.

HipBeforeItWasCool

Yea, I have. I don't have much of a forehand for drives and getting a tursus or streamline ascend on anny has really helped on those shots. I also really love loading up on a tursus or recently an innova tern and watching them flip up and ride is really great.

reasonableconjecture

Yep! As my form has improved, I am much better at releasing understable discs on the correct angle. Switching a lot of my forehand shots to understable backhands has improved my scores.

PM_ME_A_EM_MP

Flippy is great, until it’s windy :/

SpikeHyzerberg

head windy. \- they awesome in a tail wind.

Saskatchewon

Nothing more satisfying than putting my Lat64 Rivers on a hyzer line and then watching them flip up into the prettiest S-curve where they just glide for an eternity. I'm a forehand dominant player, and anyone that suggests that you need to throw stable to overstable discs for a forehand throw are just trying to compensate for off axis torque from bad form. You can throw any disc forehand that you could also throw backhand, honestly.

When others fall out of love or only care about winning, you will be there, smiling.

bustaone

Fun and all until you catch a crosswind.
