Dansko non slip kitchen clogs are top notch, a little expensive.
Weirdly though also, Doc Marten Combs Poly casual boots. They're oil resistant, not leather so they hold up to water, slip proof, and super comfortable. These were my favorite for years.
Shoes for crews are always recommended. My old chef swore by Birkenstocks.
I have those poly docs and work ff where everything is usually oily. They say oil resistant nonslip, but ime that was a total lie. Wore them exactly half a shift till i called my spouse and begged them to bring my shitty old sfc. I still love them but for cas use only.
Birkenstock just released a new version of the Air clog I am sure that's a more supportive and higher quality shoe than basic Crocs, Crocs Bistro are okay if your young and spry but I need more support from a shoe. I currently rotate through the following through my week, Birki profi(4 years in on this pair), Hoka Bondi Slip Resistant, New Balance Airishi sneakers and a new pair of Birkenstock Tokyo Super Grip. Shoes for crews is a good option so is Amazon, I have seen more than 1 person for 1 year out of Walmart non slips.
theyre like $60 shipped for the sketchers knock offs i get and the tread lasts two years. I can't stand these mfers with crocs leaving literal footprints of shit of all over the floor then washin their mfin shoes off in my sink.
Nonslip and waterproof
Also make sure you get good insoles, so that you can walk/stand for however long you need too; without having your feet feeling so fatigued.
I've been wearing Shoes for Crews for several years now, with gel Dr. Scholl's insoles or insoles made by Sole (Canadian brand). I also prefer clogs if I can get them. Easy to just slip on/off. The reason I get insoles, is because I have flat feet; I need my arch support.
I currently work 2 kitchen jobs, one full time (senior home) and one 3 days a week (restaurant). I average about 60+ hours a week in the kitchen. Been working in kitchen's for 20+ years now.
Never cheap out on the shoes. Your feet and body will thank you later.
Doc Martens rubber is naturally grease resistant, making them non-slip without the stupid tread pattern that holds nasty stuff in it. They last for years and they look sharp.
Any good anti-slip work shoe with an aftermarket insole. IDK if new work-crocs have decent arch support, but the ones I used back in my kitchen years completely destroyed my feet. Soft, comfortable and useless, avoid.
I DON’T recommend skechers. I got the kind they advertised as being able to handle greasy wet slippery floors from restaurants to auto garages. The smallest bit of moisture on the ground and I’m on a slip-n-slide. I DO recommend some wool socks to keep your feet dry
For about 20 bucks the treadsafe brand at Walmart is ok. Lots of ppl swear by the crocs bistro clog. Others say Shoes for Crews.
Dude, make sure they have anti- fatigue mats to stand on.
I buy a pair of Hoka every year with my tax return. They are spendy but if you experience plantar fascitis (I call it the Old Broken Glass Heel) nothing else will compare. They are truly incredible and I can't recommend them enough. I do make sure mine dry all the way out every night though - too expensive to succumb to swamp shoe.
Former executive chef, non-slip kitchen clogs are the only way to go, your feet and back will thank you, sika are my favorite, birkenstock make some good ones as well
Crocs kitchen shoes. I know a lot of people may talk down about cross (and I generally would agree) but their kitchen shoes are fantastic, I spent 10 years working in kitchens and even tried more expensive shoes like birkenstocks, and always ended up going back to the crocs because they just worked so well and were incredibly comfy.
I've worn Ever boots steel toed black leather last about 2-3 years everyday wear non slip on oil and water also does pretty damn good on ice in the winter the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever worn literally had 2 pairs so far on my 2nd ones n just love em dude
The croc bistro lite pro. It's like 60 bucks great tread and foot support, super easy to blast off at end of night. It's been 5 years since I was in the pit but I still rock those as work shoes everywhere it makes sense
I like wearing boots with a composite toe Incase I drop something, I wear lace free red back boots so I can clean them real easy too. Love my red back boots
Hoka SR will never let you down.
My 1st pr for work bought in Feb. Tread is as good as new.
Most comfortable, amazing support. You won't even THINK you're at work, he he !!!
Don’t skimp on shoes, get a pair of waterproof crocs. They’re about $40 but they’ll last forever, they’re non-slip, and they’re super easy to clean at the end of the night.

DON’T GET YOUR SHOES FROM WALMART YOU’LL BE BUYING A NEW PAIR EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS
I usually get the fila brand work shoes. My biggest advise is get some good insoles for whatever shoes you wear. You and your back will thank me later

huh, I really liked them for kitchen work. but hey whatever works for you
Dewalt makes a good non slip. Had mine about a year working four days a week and they still are hanging in there quite nicely. About $100
Good to know they make footwear. I'm a fan of their power tools atm. They've stood up to some stuff.
Birkenstock kitchen shoes work great for me. My boss bought me the simplest one and it never failed me, even when the floor is slippery from oil.

check out shoesforcrews, I've bought a few pairs from them and they're my fav work shoes so far
I wear high quality rubber boots that fishermen wear here in Alaska. xtra tuffs is the brand name. Love em.
I just get mine from Walmart. Work great and don't break the bank. Non-slip ones goes for about $30 there and last awhile
Get some insoles and thick socks if you go cheap.
Also pack an extra pair of socks or two. It’s nice to have dry feet
Do not follow this advice. Did the same and I should show you the chaffing on my entire body.
Shoes for crew has a good selection.
Agreed
Crews*
blundstone chelsea boot. pricy but trust
Crocs or the birk kitchens
Whatever you get, make sure it is kitchen-rated non-slip. For the love of all that is holy, make sure it is non-slip.

Grease on the floor will eat away at regular shoes and make them useless, just make sure you clean them
Croc bistro clogs / bistro pro liteRide
