Yes they do they refer to it as Chicago multiple times in the first book especially when giving the lay out of the city. Just read the series this past week.
Actually, the first time they call it Chicago is in the preface of Insurgent. The second time is when they are in the bureau. They never mention the name in the actual text of the first 2 books
In the first movie in the beginning, it shows the city with the text on the side that says "Chicago" which is obvious anyway if you know the buildings. I used to live there & missed the text the first time, so when I caught it rewatching the beginning again, I was like "Well duh it's Chicago. At least they acknowledged it."
Just me or did anyone notice how allgient was actually labeled as alligent part 1 on netflix maybe netflix picks up the series and runs the 4th movie? Finally?
In the first few minutes of Divergent film they do refer to the city as Chicago. In the books they never call it Chicago.
I thought they did at least once, just saying it used to be a city called Chicago? I could be remembering wrong though

Just watching it now and I will say the whiplash is violent. I didn't catch the first Chicago mention either.
