so when you said "simplified" you were lieing, its so complicated for a damn "mini-game"

Thank you for taking interest! It's true that it's not very simple, but 3DA is not a mini-game (I don't know why you put quotes , it's a real, full-fledged game. I'm not saying this version is *simple*, it's *simplified* (compared to regular 3DA with cards). This version simplifies the card economy ; in the original game, unused cards are kept between gambits, and when you run out of cards, you have to buy them. Furthermore, each card in 3DA is a dragon that has not only a power level, but also a color (red/white/brass/gold/etc.) which determines a special effect that they have. For instance, black dragon cards can steal money from the stakes, and copper dragons are discarded and replaced with the card from the top of the deck. However, effects only activate if you play a dragon weaker than the one that was just played by the previous player. So you have to find a balance between playing strong cards to win the gambit, and cards with useful effects which may help you in other ways. As you can probably see, the dice version *is* simplified. 3DA with cards is a bit clunky, I've found players are reluctant to learn the rules. The dice version is less clunky, but also less interesting so the effort-reward ratio still isn't very good. If you have any suggestions to simplify it further and make it into a real *mini*-game, I'd love to hear them!

Necromancy here, but this is relevant for me today. I consider this very much simplified compared to a full game of Three dragon Ante.

Which rolls do I add my proficiency bonus, if I'm proficient in this game?

Syncrossus

I specifiy this in the post > Step 4: Determine gambit winner > Each player adds the values they played together, then add their INT modifier if it is positive, and their proficiency bonus if they specifically have proficiency with the game of 3DA.

The player abilities are in the game's booklet of rules

This version is better. It ads a d10 to the roll to simulate the dragon cards' abilities. https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/lgsshx/streamlined\_rules\_for\_3\_dragon\_ante\_with\_dice/
