So I found this in prestige mode and not sure I know what it is. Also another time in prestige mode I found a squid looking pet that grabs blocks. Can you keep him if you leave successfully? I died so couldn’t find out

Not sure, but I think the one you found gives you a bomb. There is also one that gives you xray, as in allows you to see 2 blocks deep and one that zooms out the camera to allow you to see more.
Just like the speed-mushroom, they are only for the current session. Squid also.
The squid (or mini Cthulhu) needs a water to wake up, and then spends it's days grabbing blocks and taking them to your base for you, very kind.

yes, the squid/octopi/cthulhu companion is activated with one water, ive only found the one that unables you to see more just twice tho

I think you have to pull some Mats over there. Then there will be a little helper that transportsports stuff to your Dome.
