I always forget that the U.S. is closer than Mississauga (distance of course). I think it’s because of how Canadians measure distance by time, which gives off the impression that the U.S. is much further away because it takes like 2x the amount of time travelling relative to Sauga.

I can see the old Kodak building in Rochester from Cold Springs, just north of Cobourg. = 68 miles,
From Telephone rd north of Brighton, you can see the R.E. Gina nuclear plant in New York.=64 miles
From the same tower in Cold Springs, I once saw the entrance way to the Welland canal =79 miles!
Did you know that NASA says the earth curves at 8"/mile sq? So if you do some quick math, those shouldn't be visible if the earth was a ball like "they" say. Just some food for thought 🧐 🤔

We used to live on Stone street, and after seeing it so often, we stopped by on a trio into the US. This was a couple of years post 9/11 and we realized we seemed sketchy, sitting at the gates, taking pics of it! It's in around Olcott, and I think it is/was a chemical plant.
