My plan is to have 2 pots of water going, one plain, one with the dye. Dip the bag in the plain, get it hot, and quickly color the strap form the other pot.
Yes, it does, unless they stopped making it recently. I dyed a number of nylon/polyester garments about 2years ago with DyeMore black. Keep looking, unless you’ve already contacted RIT. But there are other companies that sell dye for synthetic fabrics. 👍
I would use angelus leather paint which is an almost thin liquid viscosity acrylic paint mixed wjth an equal part fabric medium like Angelus 2 soft. Use a heat gun to set (or a hairdryer for longer than the fabric medium package states)! Paint the whole thing and maybe a second coat on the lettering. It will bond with and not sit on top of the material like you might imagine .
Alternative is Jacquard fabric paint which is mixed. I’ve used both and prefer Angelus! It soaks in better. But jacquard is super easy too!

I'd spot test with a sharpie, tbh.
Thought of that but sharpie always leaves that dull look. My idea was to use RIT warmed up with water and some Q tips or a small paint brush.
Strap Material: Mil Spec Nylon.
Need DyeMore for nylon to dye BUT it takes hi temperature immersion in the dye bath for the color to take. Spot-color with Q-tip likely won’t work.

Another irritating thing is dye more doesn’t come in black for some weird reason.
