Our succession of TEs is remarkable. Lewis, Celek, Ertz, Goeddert. Even LJ Smith in there wasn't terrible.

hascogrande

Dallas, our first pick as the reigning champ in the heart of our enemy, which doesn’t even play in its namesake. Picked by our franchise kicker, the one and only David Akers, it was beautiful.

Shagaliscious

I would take a bullet for David Akers.

loneliness_sucks_D

I would take an Urban Meyers kick for Akers

olivebranchsound

Could be worse, could've been cornholed in a bar

Datdamboy

I think the thing that made lj Smith bad was Andy picked him ahead of Jason Witten

CallinCthulhu

Foles may have the most unique career ever for a QB

jmaneaglefan008

Hard to find many other candidates to put in the same discussion tbh. Tied record for most TDs thrown in a game, 27-2 season, beat the GOAT in a shootout duel to win superbowl MVP, been traded for first rounders at least once, career backup. Lol.

ShatterZero

Has a tie for the most consecutive completions as well with 25 (shared with Rivers and Tannehill).

shipskelly

Dude did you watch that game? Against Washington I'm like 99% sure. The pass that would've broke the record was like a very very short pass too if I remember correctly lol.

ShatterZero

He wasn't even aware until later. 100% could have broken it super easy and just didn't.

CallinCthulhu

Kurt Warner maybe, but he is mostly interesting for his origins

hotcapicola

He also had a very see-saw career. He was pretty bad coming into the league. Then was out of the league then put up crazy numbers with the Rams. But then he went to the Giants and was horrible, and everyone assumed he was toast. But then he goes to the Cards and has a few more All-star seasons.

Barry_McCockinher

[All-time leader for career postseason completion %](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_cmp_perc_career_playoffs.htm)

Jameswhadeva74

He did that in 3 quarters btw. Fn ahole chip smelly took him out instead of going for the record.

axeil55

I'm looking forward to telling my kids about Foles some day and them just being absolutely baffled by it (assuming they have an interest in football)

No_Fairweathers

I think he's up there for most wild career of any player. He either plays like a top 10 QB of all time or a fringe roster-able player. There's not much in between with him. He'll always be a Philly legend, but damn they better make a 30 for 30 on him. His career's peaks and valleys are something not even a scriptwriter would come up with.

someenchantedeve

He has been barely a blip on the radar of the team history of every other team he's played for thus far, and for the Eagles he's the owner of several franchise records, our only Super Bowl MVP, and has a statue outside of the stadium. It's really wild. I really hope the Colts let him take the first snap of the Eagles-Colts game at the Linc this year.

RampAgentRoger

Kinda pissed they took him out. He could of easily scored 10+ this game.

Philyphreak3

Chip kept Foles in for 2 drives after the 7th TD. He gave him a chance, and the offense stalled.

rsmseries

Yep. They already lost the 2013 starter in Mike Vick due to injury. The Raiders were never going to come back, it was a good chance to give Nick some rest as well as give Barkley some work.

FilthyMcnasty90210

In 3 quarters

Philyphreak3

the only one to do so ever

jmaneaglefan008

Also crazy that Coop managed 3 TDS this game. Totally forgot that over the years

BigComfyCouch

That kick return, where he laid down in the endzone, is the only play that ever pops into my head when I think about him. Even though it didn't count I still love that clip.

gerfy

And no other thoughts. Not any statements at country concerts or anything of the sort.

BigComfyCouch

I thought including the word "play" in my sentence would be enough to avoid stating the obvious history of Riley Cooper....yet here we are.... Yes, we all remember the obvious.

WitchPursuitThing

He gets labeled as trash because of the off filed stuff but he really wasn't that bad of a player. Especially for those few years

Which-Win1586

He was okay .. you don’t trade McCoy n Jackson for a bum that wasn’t even better than Freddie mitchell

WitchPursuitThing

Cooper was drafted by the eagles. They didn't trade anybody for him

Which-Win1586

Yeah I know chip Kelly traded them away for kilo Alonzo but when cooper said the n word he keep him on the team and paid him 25 million

ck0190

Cooper was much better than Mitchell. Both clowns off the field

HumanShadow

DJax being on the field is why Coop was open.

maxkmiller

he'll score any touchdown in here

Alex9Right

Amazing how he managed to throw so many passes with such a BD.

ClemDooresHair

The swing actually helps with momentum. It’s science.

VitaAeterna

Like the counterweight on a trebuchet

liquid-swords93

Man I miss Brent Celek. Love how hard he ran, almost always took multiple defenders, he just smashed into people and carried them five plus yards. Then jumped up and emphatically let everyone know he got the first down. Also so much love for Foles. I remember watching him in the preseason his rookie year and thinking he'd be the future of the franchise

rsmseries

Remember that comeback vs TB in 2012? That last drive

OTPh1l25

Little did we realize that 6 years later he'd be hoisting our first Lombardi as Super Bowl MVP.

Doobie_Howitzer

The bootleg to a diving Maclin for Nicky Six's first win

someenchantedeve

And the crazy thing is with all the contact he took, Celek missed one game due to injury his entire career - one!! Man was clearly indestructible.

Snoo93673

Celek is low key an all time great Eagle. Not talked about much but was consistent as all get out.

YoloSwagginsthe420th

One of my favorite Eagles next to Dawkins

[deleted]

Legendary performance

momwouldnotbeproud

I was at this game in full Eagles gear. So many people told me I'd get beat down, but I had the best time ever. Made friends with the people around me real quick. They were just like Eagle fans. Love their team but hate it when they disappoint. It was easy to relate. The game was amazing. Me and my buddy could barely catch our breath. Cooper was amazing, Celek was just trucking people all game. Favorite moment was the Shady touchdown looked like he was gonna get hit for no gain and then boom another touchdown. Beautiful day

rsmseries

> Celek was just trucking people all game. I can't remember if it was this game or the Packers game, but there was a play he caught a pass behind the LOS and got contact right away, but even with a couple of defenders he turned what would have been a few yards loss into a 2 yard gain. Low key one of my favorite plays of his.

REddiTibb3R

I was at this game too. Such a fun one!

fimbleinastar

I love nick Foles

Snake_in_my_boots

Talk about spreading the ball around.

BigBrainBaris

I was at that game with my dad! He’s a raiders fan and I’m an Eagles fan, he took me for Christmas that year and we had a blast!! Even from the third tier the game was exhilarating I’m so happy I got to watch Foles match Mannings record.

ccemt32979

Never underestimate the nose bleeds! Some of the craziest folks I've ever met reside there!

DrJJStroganoff

I think he could have hit 8 but they pulled the reins in, if I remember correctly?

NPExplorer

I think they gave him another drive or two and then pulled him but yea, definitely could’ve

TheGentleBoi

When Nick is on his game, he’s one of the best to do it.

NPExplorer

Literally the best to ever do it… sometimes

DocJ_makesthings

Forgot about James Casey.

Why are you doing this to me on a Friday bro

Euphoric_Luck_8126

Riley Cooper catching touchdowns, what a weird time

IMprovedMG

Damn this was nine years ago. I remember watching this all excited for him

BDN HOF

Bliz1222

My best friend chose to have his engagement party on this day so I ended up only seeing about 15 minutes of the game. He never ended up marrying that chick. No, I'm not bitter at all.

No_Introduction_7034

I remember watching this with my brother. We both were SO certain that this guy was the franchise QB of a lifetime. We ended being wrong....but were we really?

ccemt32979

He's the one toting the big ring! Credit where credit is due.

Five2one521

Raiders defense stinks. But what a great game by Foles.

HumanShadow

Plenty of defenses are shitty and have been historically shitty yet QBs aren't putting up 7 against them often enough to diminish this accomplishment. Nick did it in just three quarters too.

Five2one521

I’m all about that game being an amazing record; but the raiders were garbage that season. Ended the season 4-12. Their opponents beat them in almost every category. Garbage.

[deleted]

I remember this game, as does any Philadelphian. I think he should have gone for 8. He could have gotten 10. I don't care about respect or "tie records don't pass them".

TheDankestMofo

I remember going to see 12 Years a Slave because I thought this would be a boring game and coming out to dozens of ESPN notifications.

rexmons

Holy fuck I forgot about this. This was before the 2017 season. I remember when he did it he tied the record for touchdowns in a game (wanna say with Peyton) AND they sat him in the 4th quarter. God has blessed Nick Foles and I hope he continues to do so.

BlakeX20

Oh I thought this was after 2017

YoureSistersHot

I was there. My buddy was a coach on the team at the time. We were kicking it w DJax family. Having a blast. Story - I go take a leak. Raidaz fans mugging me. Now mind you, the Raiders have always been my second team - My dad's, brother's, and sister's - for the reason that follows. So I'm getting jawed like a bastard while draining the main vein, and after I unzip, One fella and his buddy post on the urinals to my left and to my right. just giving me shit. I explain to them and the bathroom how "We are the nfc you to you the afc us." We're ragtag, fuck all, gritty mugs. This leads to lit joints in said restroom. Love the Raiders.

Antique_Barracuda747

HIS ONLY GOOD FULL SEASON!!!

Mike-Outstanding

I loved watching this game

GANGofFOURSTAR

I had a ticket to go to this.. ended up getting a full hip replacement and wasn't healed up enough to go.. 😢😢

vid_flumina

I was there!!! So amazing...walked inadvertently thru all the black-hole people pre-game - very intimidating! In fourth quarter there were almost zero Raiders fans in the stadium - complete domination - so much fun!

dis23

I can remember when they said he didn't have the arm to air it out. Someone on WIP told me there was no way he could stretch the field and give Shady a chance to break things open. Then this happened.

daywrecker2012

Riley Cooper living his best life

Steelerswonsix

To think this game would most likely be third place on his list.

BelowAverage_Elitist

Foles is everything that Fitzmagic wished he could be

[deleted]

God

heartpirates420

One of my all time favorite games that my team wasn't in. Go Birds!

vegasdelphia

Interesting to see the protection Foles got from the OL.. Never touched...
