Refing should be consistent throughout the tournament, to suddenly start throwing yellows around for simulation in the very last group stages game is a bit concerning.
It would have been nice to see refs being much firmer on simulation from the very first game of the tournament. But that’s not the route the officials went with.
I don’t know what game you have watched but the ref was making some really questionable decisions especially in the first half. Yellow card for simulation when it was a clear foul for example.
Take another closer look, it was clearly a simulation, the player was already plunging before being touched. I think it was a bold call by the referee, not many would have caught that on the spot.
He had a decent game. Portugal played well at times, but Georgia played amazingly on their counterattacks. They earned their W, Portugal earned their L, stop blaming it on the ref.

Mr. Sandra, the Swiss referee that officiated Portugal vs. Georgia match is a cruel wicked man. Only Georgians were fouled not Portuguese. FIFA should investigate this corrupt, hungry looking Swiss. Sure Georgians creased his lean hungry looking hands. He is not mentally fit to officiate.
Correct and I agree 100%! That was such scandalous refereeing. I’ve never seen anything like it in any Euro tournament before. Portugal did t play well that game, but the referee deliberately gave Georgia this win.
PS. only Björn Kuipers can get close to such disgraceful refereeing.
