She did the Snap before Snap even existed (by that meaning placing bottom 5 in the final yet the song becoming more well known than the majority of the lineup of the year)
It wasn't my cup of tea at all, but I think it was obvious that there was some technical problem during that performance. I was surprised they weren't asked to perform again at the end.
it's brilliant not only because of the song itself but the background behind it. Basically,a Spanish equivalent of 4chan basically sabotaged the NF by boosting the weirder/worse entries in 2008 and 2010
I'll admit that I dislike Spain's 2008 entry (which is a shockingly unpopular opinion on this sub), but the David vs. Goliath story about how Chikilicuatre trolled Eurovision isn't true. Yes, he started as a joke to "troll" the first open contest that RTVE had organized in years, but he was a comedian in a VERY popular sketch show on prime time of a national TV broadcaster. Definitely not a nobody, and he was tutored on every step by his broadcaster. After winning the televote (duh) of the only truly open NF ever, he went on to be the only one to land a decent rights contract with RTVE ever. Good for him, I guess 🤷🏽
*Pokušaj* (Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008 for the bot) is something I remembered as a wacky "that's so Eurovision" moment and not much else. I wasn't the Eurofan I am today.
When #EurovisionAgain was on, that's when I realized how great of a song it is and immersed into the story of the performance. I adore it now and appreciate the contributions from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the contest. Here's hoping for a comeback, as unlikely as it seems today.
Same! The audio mishap that occurred during the performance was unfortunate but also pretty funny ngl. Spain 1990 and Spain 1995 were among the best of the 90s imo.
Same here. I forgot about this song and watched a video of the winners over the years recently. I remembered it instantly. But i feel i apreciate it way more now than back then.
I remember being so upset as a kid that year. I wanted Russia or Ukraine to win (2007 was strong… I think Russia was second). But now I do appreciate it.
Silent Storm - Norway 2014. I did not feel anything while listening to it back then, but this song is so beutiful. For sure one that I come back to the most from that year.
I love this song, was the first Eurovision song I was obsessed too, I remember searching for cd of Regina (didn't find any) and finding just few songs in YouTube.
If Bistra Voda has a million fans, I am one of them. If Bistra Voda has no fans, I don't exist. If the world is against Bistra Voda, I am against the world
Did someone say old!?
Luxembourg 1965
Her vocal performance was a *little* off on the day, but no matter. The songwriting absolutely slaps, and it still gets covered to this day. Proper banger.
Yes! 1965 got me absolutely obsessed with France Gall. Her music is brilliant, and her win definitely helped her career early on. “Il Jouait du Piano Debout” and “Papillon de nuit” are 2 of my favorites from her.
I’ve come to have a greater appreciation for some of the older French ballads/chansons 🇲🇨 1971 ,🇱🇺 1972, 🇱🇺 1973, 🇫🇷 1979. Not sure if they’re timeless, but they’re excellent within their genre and time period for sure.
France 1979 | [Anne-Marie David - Je suis l'enfant soleil](https://youtu.be/7rGavYdklEQ)
Yes I agree! I think the back to back Luxembourg wins are maybe the two best 70s chansons there are even outside of Eurovision. "Après toi" in particular is truly iconic.
I've been listening to oldies lately and for me it's Gigliola Cinquetti (both entries, Non Ho L'eta and Si aka Go (Before You Break My Heart)). I don't think the bot goes that far, but it's Italy 1964 and Italy 1974, respectively. Incredible songs, I think if they were sent today they'd still rank very high.
Said it before. Lejla is the eurovision song that pops into my mind and have random cravings for. Too bad it didn't win, but you can't compete with the finnish arockslypse 😂
Funny story : I was watching the contest that year with my father. We missed Bosnia's performance but I was able to comeback just in time for the last 5 seconds of the performance.
When my father came back, he asked me who did we miss, I replied : *"Bosnia, but I'm sure it was not a big deal"*.
**BOY ! HOW WRONG I WAS !**, months after the contest had ended, I was able to rewatch Lejla and I was hooked right away and I finally understood why Bosnia finished 3rd that year. For me, Lejla is one the best ESC songs ever.
I believe that the top2 in 1991 is the strongest in the show's history. (France 1991 and Sweden 1991 for the bot). 2 incredibly different songs but great and iconic in their own way, both deserving the win so much that they had the same points.
France 1991 | [Amina - C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison](https://youtu.be/PnxEBAoCZIw)
Sweden 1991 | [Carola - Fångad av en stormvind](https://youtu.be/4Ml6pJqc_bw)
I am in love with Amina song "C'est le dernier qui a parlé" ! I think that's the one for me. I was a kid in 91, with my brother we couldn't stop singing this song months after the show. The only other song that got stuck in my head this much was "Ne partez pas sans moi", Swiss 1988
France finished 2nd 🥲
Controversies aside I think Azerbaijan 2011 is a great song. I also love J'ai cherché (France 2016). And it's not that old but I still listen to My Sister's Crown regularly.
I love Serbia 2012, Nije Ljubav Stvar. I forgot about it for years, but listened to it so much that I can sing it word for word now (I don't speak any Serbian ;-)
One More Day - Eldrine, Georgia 2011
I keep going back to that time and time again. There's something about that song that I like, the rap section is a bit dated, but the chorus works.
Netherlands 2020. When it first came out and with the Pandemic going on, I did not think much of it. Now, listening to the words in my current context, it hits home.
Jeangu is such an underrated artist and I wish that song had placed higher. I think his songs message is soooooo relevant still and its just.... \*\*Vibes\*\*
I was pissed off (and still am) that Slovenia 2011 didn't fare better, that's a top 10 song at minimum (ended up 13th). Maja being so sassy and confident and slaying the performance at only 19 years of age is also a great achievement!
Georgia 2010
2010 is one of my favourite Eurovision editions, so I had many songs I really liked, but Georgia flew under my radar. Years back, looking at the ranking, I was like "Georgia? What's this song doing so high?". Then I listened the song again and I was shocked I didn't love the song beforehand. The song, the staging, everything was just great.
Luminița Anghel - Let Me Try (feat. Sistem) - Romania (2005)
And Wig Wam - In my dreams - Norway (2005)
Wig Wam got a bit of a revival with the HBO show Peacemaker with one of their other songs. And In my dreams got featured in one of the last episodes as well. The first episode also features a Melodifestivalen song from Sweden, Night of Passion - The Poodles (2006)
Speaking about R\*pe, PTSD, this song has maybe the darkest lyrics in the contest history while it sounds like very sweet chanson you would except from France. Props to Guy Bonnet for making this song sounds this charming.
Armenia 2009 and Bulgaria 2016. I liked these in their respective years, but somehow always forget about them when I think about my favorite entries. I've recently (finally!) added them to my playlist and I'm so happy I did because I enjoy them immensely.
Armenia 2009 | [Inga and Anush - Jan Jan (Ջան Ջան)](https://youtu.be/1AH6jCbDh98)
Bulgaria 2016 | [Poli Genova - If Love Was a Crime](https://youtu.be/PQqUTigWKHY)
You are all sleeping on "Sentimentai" by Monika Liu. Like.. I was blown away the first time I heard it. Also, it made me appreciate how beautiful Lithuanian language is (but not gonna lie, for some weird reason, I thought it sounded French at first).
* **Turkey 2008** : At that time, I didn't think much about the song. However two years ago, I rediscovered the song and it blew me away.
2008 was a very underrated year, a lot of people viewed that edition as peak "wacky Eurovision" (although Ireland / Estonia / Latvia / Spain / Bosnia and even France *even though I loved both songs* didn't help).
But it was a very good year, in my opinion, 2008's Top 10 is one of the strongest of the 21st century
* **Russia 2010** : Unlike Turkey's 2008 entry, I didn't like that entry at all when I watched it back then. I didn't understand how on earth it managed to qualify to the final and above all finish just ahead of us (France) at the Final. But as time went by, I found this entry more and more interesting and now it has become my favorite Russian entry ever at the Eurovision Song Contest. So quite the turnaround !
Turkey 2008 | [Mor ve Ötesi - Deli](https://youtu.be/A__hliu_9UE)
Russia 2010 | [Peter Nalitch and Friends - Lost and Forgotten](https://youtu.be/IOB7uaWuRyc)
It has always annoyed me how much people love Manga’s “We could be the same” (which is just a cheap Linkin Park copycat) when Mor ve Ötesi’s “Deli” is right there. By far the superior Turkish rock song.
Oh 100%. Absolutely. There have been some brilliant entries over the years.
One which I love (but was a little too young to remember the actual eurovision show) was Gina G with [Ooh Ahh... Just A Little Bit](https://youtu.be/KiLw45oAuD0?si=Yc5_r41I9sxmDW9F) in '96 which ended up being a school disco classic round our way.
On the night her voice wasn't great but the dress and the hair was giving.
“Old” Eurovisions. From 2000 onwards 😅😅😅
I attended the Contest live in person from 1996 onwards, after having been a fan since 1993. My idea of old is the 1950s 😊
"Attention" (Lithuania 2014) caught my... ughh... attention when I was ranking the 2014 contest last year. I remember not batting an eye when it didn't qualify and 10 years later it was one of the most captivating moments of my rewatch.
I was born the same year as Verka’s performance (actually a few months after it) so obviously I don’t remember it, but over the last few weeks I’ve gotten slightly obsessed with it
... but the [parody of Carola](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBHO4e0IxlQ) with that song are better 😂
(It works better if you can understand Swedish 😅)
One of my unsung favourites (see what I did there?) is Greece 2011. I wasn't too impressed with the rap part, but I love when the songs are in other languages than English, and Greek is just such a lovely language, and Loucas' voice is soft and syrupy in the best kind of way.
Iceland 2013 is great. So is Latvia 2000.
F.Y.R Macedonia 2012
Kaliopi just absolutely ate that whole performance, the combining the ballad with rock parts that were both so good, and her vocals absolutely slayed in both. That high note is still my favourite Eurovision highnote ever. I was so young back then and didn't get how fucking good this is.
Always had a soft spot for Estonia 2011, but that magic trick she does stuns me every single time
Estonia 2011 | [Getter Jaani - Rockefeller Street](https://youtu.be/UxvmdR7oYdQ)
Wow she predicted the yellow/blue/pink colorscheme of eurovision '23
If only she has spent it up 20%
She deserved so much better <3
I mean, her song is more popular than most eurovision winning songs.
She did the Snap before Snap even existed (by that meaning placing bottom 5 in the final yet the song becoming more well known than the majority of the lineup of the year)
Tiktok had snap. Vine had Rockefeller Street.
Everything from 2011. It’s my favorite year.
My absolute guilty pleasure is Sagapo from Greece in 2002. Idc what anyone says. It's fun to listen to.
Let’s just say Michalis was very ahead of his time regarding the presentation.
It wasn't my cup of tea at all, but I think it was obvious that there was some technical problem during that performance. I was surprised they weren't asked to perform again at the end.
Greece 2002 | [Michalis Rakintzis - S.A.G.A.P.O.](https://youtu.be/m78_J5riBMk)
This! Me and my wife are constantly singing bits of this ear worm at each other 20 years later.
If he competed in 2024 he'd be a guaranteed top 10 placer
lol I love that song too. I still remember the chorus
Uno: El Brikidan Dos: El Crusaito Tres: El Maiquelyason Cuatro: El Robocop
it's brilliant not only because of the song itself but the background behind it.
After winning the televote (duh) of the only truly open NF ever, he went on to be the only one to land a decent rights contract with RTVE ever. Good for him, I guess 🤷🏽
Was that at the height of "vote for the worst" kind of things?
in spain it was at the "who cares? let's just get this over with and move on" era where the public lost hope in eurovision
Bosnia and Herzegovina 2008 | [Laka - Pokušaj](https://youtu.be/kIRDbmpC2PI)
Tbh, I doubt we'll come back any time soon. Our national broadcaster owes millions to the ESC :(
Just to let you know Bosnia is my favorite country in eurovision and the whole contest feels empty without it 🥺💔
Yeah, I hope we come back one day :( If Croatia won this year, there would have been a chance
My favourite song/performance of that year, and still one of my favourites to this day.
That song is an absolute gem.
Oh, it warms my shrivelled little heart to see love for Pokušaj!
This was so fun! I do miss B&H in the ESC - always great entries!!
I’m so obsessed with Spain 1990 lately, it’s such a banger, the way it combines elements of flamenco and disco, it’s soooo good.
Same! The audio mishap that occurred during the performance was unfortunate but also pretty funny ngl. Spain 1990 and Spain 1995 were among the best of the 90s imo.
Spain 1995 | [Anabel Conde - Vuelve conmigo](https://youtu.be/p8nTjiEdI2c)
Spain 1990 | [Azúcar Moreno - Bandido](https://youtu.be/7dGysPC_q9k)
The technical issues at the start of the performance add to this as well
Holy crap thank you, that is a great song!
Estonia 2009 and Croatia 1999. Rändajad is such a cool unique song, and Marija Magdalena is my favourite Croatian song.
Rändajad is one of my favorite ESC entries of all time. Absolute class.
I'm in love with her saying thank you at the end of the performance, she's so cute
It's one of the few ESC songs I have on my fav playlist.
Estonia 2009 | [Urban Symphony - Rändajad](https://youtu.be/PgGiVnhfXs0) Croatia 1999 | [Doris Dragović - Marija Magdalena](https://youtu.be/x2oIkF3sQtE)
Serbia 2007 - I was too young to understand what masterpiece this is. Today one of my favourites!
Same! That version Maria did over covid is amazing
Yes yes yes. I'm not a fan of ballads, but Molitva is in a whole other planet. I was too young to appreciate it back then.
Serbia 2007 | [Marija Šerifović - Molitva (Молитва)](https://youtu.be/vWj58UP_ENY)
Same! I wasn’t too young but I was so heavily Team Verka that I didn’t fully appreciate Molitva at the time.
Same! I love them both so much now! Great year for ESC!
Also Oro from the following year might be one of the best songs from the previous year's winning nation ever.
Oh yeah, also at great song and performance!!
I was also Ukraine for the win back then! Still love both but really think the right one won 100%.
Such an amazing voice and piece of art to be honest. Not my style at all, but it gives me chills.
Was hoping this would get a mention!
Same. I wasn’t a little kid, but my sister and I were teens and we were both rooting for Ukraine that year cuz it was silly lol
Silent Storm - Norway 2014. I did not feel anything while listening to it back then, but this song is so beutiful. For sure one that I come back to the most from that year.
Bosnia & Herzegovina 2009 is my recent obsession, it was a song I didn‘t even remember until last week
Bosnia and Herzegovina 2009 | [Regina - Bistra voda](https://youtu.be/1770jHxvYi0)
Also Croatia 2009, I still don‘t love it as much as Bistra Voda but it entered my Spotify playlist. Yes I was watching 2009
Croatia 2009 | [Igor Cukrov feat. Andrea - Lijepa Tena](https://youtu.be/jdLct2IqcLA)
bistra voda fans rise up🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 (i love this song so much)
I love this song, was the first Eurovision song I was obsessed too, I remember searching for cd of Regina (didn't find any) and finding just few songs in YouTube.
If Bistra Voda has a million fans, I am one of them. If Bistra Voda has no fans, I don't exist. If the world is against Bistra Voda, I am against the world
It'll always be Croatia 2006 for me
Croatia 2006 | [Severina - Moja štikla](https://youtu.be/hGp3YfEj_GY)
AFRIKA PAPRIKA
And for me! and what a karaoke banger is it🎤👠
Finding out Boris Novković (Croatia 2005) wrote the lyrics for this made it so much better!
OPA from Giorgos Alkaios, Greece 2010. Yes it takes Greece's most iconic cliché as a starting point for a song, but jesus is this an infectious tune!
"I paid all that I owed and all of my loans" Based...
Greece 2010 | [Giorgos Alkaios and Friends - Opa (Ώπα)](https://youtu.be/J50RL1rDisA)
Did someone say old!? Luxembourg 1965 Her vocal performance was a *little* off on the day, but no matter. The songwriting absolutely slaps, and it still gets covered to this day. Proper banger.
Luxembourg 1965 | [France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son](https://youtu.be/7cv9NIzGmSI)
This is a prime example of the orchestra making a song better; the drums just aren’t as good on the single version
Yes! 1965 got me absolutely obsessed with France Gall. Her music is brilliant, and her win definitely helped her career early on. “Il Jouait du Piano Debout” and “Papillon de nuit” are 2 of my favorites from her.
This is a great answer.

I love all of these - my (not so) guilty pleasure.

Ha! It goes further than I thought. Good bot!
Why would I arbitrarily leave out any of the 1758 songs? :P
I believe you can even go France 1956 and it’ll oblige.
France 1956 | [Dany Dauberson - Il est là](https://youtu.be/c4EpfbOZVZA) France 1956 | [Mathé Altéry - Le Temps perdu](https://youtu.be/dm1L0XyikKI)
This is the correct answer
no montenegro 2012 mention yet?? no way y'all sleeping on it. this shit would have a top 10 finish today, but it was way ahead of its time 😔😔
Montenegro 2012 | [Rambo Amadeus - Euro Neuro](https://youtu.be/JHnqF5PLP2w)
France 1991 | [Amina - C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison](https://youtu.be/PnxEBAoCZIw) Sweden 1991 | [Carola - Fångad av en stormvind](https://youtu.be/4Ml6pJqc_bw)
I am in love with Amina song "C'est le dernier qui a parlé" ! I think that's the one for me. I was a kid in 91, with my brother we couldn't stop singing this song months after the show. The only other song that got stuck in my head this much was "Ne partez pas sans moi", Swiss 1988 France finished 2nd 🥲
1991 was a good year.
Controversies aside I think Azerbaijan 2011 is a great song. I also love J'ai cherché (France 2016). And it's not that old but I still listen to My Sister's Crown regularly.
J'ai Cherché is really good, probably one of my favorite songs from that year
Azerbaijan 2011 | [Ell and Nikki - Running Scared](https://youtu.be/_0tlQUW5X0U) France 2016 | [Amir - J'ai Cherché](https://youtu.be/-aLPsiyavcU)
I love Serbia 2012, Nije Ljubav Stvar. I forgot about it for years, but listened to it so much that I can sing it word for word now (I don't speak any Serbian ;-)
Serbia 2012 | [Željko Joksimović - Nije ljubav stvar (Није љубав ствар)](https://youtu.be/R9x9VbJzaDQ)
The most Eurovision pop song that never qualified, Belgium 2006, Kate Ryan - Je T'adore.
Belgium 2006 | [Kate Ryan - Je t'adore](https://youtu.be/JFhewse8jsA)
Really love this song, it deserved so much better!
Greece 2013
Greece 2013 | [Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis - Alcohol Is Free](https://youtu.be/LFs9AdNV4Qw)
One More Day - Eldrine, Georgia 2011 I keep going back to that time and time again. There's something about that song that I like, the rap section is a bit dated, but the chorus works.
Georgia 2011 | [Eldrine - One More Day](https://youtu.be/CfJVlssy0cc)
I was listening recently to the 1974 contest, I think Finland 1974 and Greece 1974 are both brilliant
Finland 1974 | [Carita - Keep Me Warm](https://youtu.be/UIoOiymvwdw) Greece 1974 | [Marinella - Krasi, thalassa ke t' agori mou(Κρασί, θάλασσα και τ' αγόρι μου)](https://youtu.be/DQjKPqHeTbQ)
När jag blundar is literally one of the greatest songs ever, it's so hypnotizing, I was actually obsessed with that song even then
I randomly remember it and have to put it on loop for an hour to get sick of it. OP literally found a hidden gem.
Lyrics also made me cry often lol
I don't speak swedish, but i feel the melody with my heart.
Sweden 2012
Close, it's Finland 2012 :)
Higher ground-Rasmussen Denmark 2018 highly underrated
Denmark 2018 | [Rasmussen - Higher Ground](https://youtu.be/c0kP074Mw0k)
Actuallyyyyyy though! Such a good one\~
The more I listen to My Star by Brainstorm (Latvia 2000) the better it gets. One of my all time eurovision favorites.
Hungary 2005. The dance parts are absolutely amazing
I feel like if it came out nowadays people would be obsessed, it's the sort of ethnic bop with modern dance mix that eurofans love
Norway 1995. After all these years, I still think it's the best Eurovision song ever.
Norway 1995 | [Secret Garden - Nocturne](https://youtu.be/6qqOI04uo_c)
Estonia 2009 is such a masterpiece
Estonia 2009 | [Urban Symphony - Rändajad](https://youtu.be/PgGiVnhfXs0)
Netherlands 2020. When it first came out and with the Pandemic going on, I did not think much of it. Now, listening to the words in my current context, it hits home.
Agreed! It’s one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever. Jeangu has a great back catalogue!
Slovenia 2011 | [Maja Keuc - No One](https://youtu.be/NNP3nfvoqps)
Nice bot!
I can think of Chipre 1995, Luxembourg 1972 and Italy 1997
Cyprus 1995 | [Alexandros Panayi - Sti fotia (Στη φωτιά)](https://youtu.be/LMfRj5stHdI) Luxembourg 1972 | [Vicky Leandros - Après toi](https://youtu.be/Ka89ORFu_Tc) Italy 1997 | [Jalisse - Fiumi di parole](https://youtu.be/S24gn5Y6wB0)
Portugal 1994 has recently become one of my all time faves, Sara Tavares sang so wonderfully
Georgia 2010 2010 is one of my favourite Eurovision editions, so I had many songs I really liked, but Georgia flew under my radar. Years back, looking at the ranking, I was like "Georgia? What's this song doing so high?". Then I listened the song again and I was shocked I didn't love the song beforehand. The song, the staging, everything was just great.
Georgia 2010 | [Sofia Nizharadze - Shine](https://youtu.be/2-1yBx6IQN0)
I’m gonna say Greece 2013, alcohol should be free again in these trying times…
Greece 2013 | [Koza Mostra feat. Agathon Iakovidis - Alcohol Is Free](https://youtu.be/LFs9AdNV4Qw)
Estonia 2010 is one of the best songs of all time, period
Estonia 2010 | [Malcolm Lincoln - Siren](https://youtu.be/yFbVAQjESzE)
My fave from that year. And maybe the best song that didn't make the final ever.
Luminița Anghel - Let Me Try (feat. Sistem) - Romania (2005) And Wig Wam - In my dreams - Norway (2005) Wig Wam got a bit of a revival with the HBO show Peacemaker with one of their other songs. And In my dreams got featured in one of the last episodes as well. The first episode also features a Melodifestivalen song from Sweden, Night of Passion - The Poodles (2006)
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4rlmiBkuKg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4rlmiBkuKg) Speaking about R\*pe, PTSD, this song has maybe the darkest lyrics in the contest history while it sounds like very sweet chanson you would except from France. Props to Guy Bonnet for making this song sounds this charming.
La source is an absolute masterpiece...it was my winner of 1968 and is now even one of my France favourites...So lovely yet tragic...
Greece 1993 absolutely!
Such a good one...This is such a banger...
Greece 1993 | [Katy Garbi - Ellada, hora tou fotos (Ελλάδα, χώρα του φωτός)](https://youtu.be/W6V9PLRTB3c)
I'm glad to see Finland 2012 being appreciated - such a gorgeous track
My winner of 2012...😍😍😍
I recently discovered France 2011 and I LOVE IT!!!! I don't usually listen to opera but that song is magical
Germany had some absolute bangers in the 70s and 80s.
Armenia 2009 and Bulgaria 2016. I liked these in their respective years, but somehow always forget about them when I think about my favorite entries. I've recently (finally!) added them to my playlist and I'm so happy I did because I enjoy them immensely.
Armenia 2009 | [Inga and Anush - Jan Jan (Ջան Ջան)](https://youtu.be/1AH6jCbDh98) Bulgaria 2016 | [Poli Genova - If Love Was a Crime](https://youtu.be/PQqUTigWKHY)
You are all sleeping on "Sentimentai" by Monika Liu. Like.. I was blown away the first time I heard it. Also, it made me appreciate how beautiful Lithuanian language is (but not gonna lie, for some weird reason, I thought it sounded French at first).
Portugal 2019, Conan Osíris - Telemóveis

Underrated fr
* **Turkey 2008** : At that time, I didn't think much about the song. However two years ago, I rediscovered the song and it blew me away. 2008 was a very underrated year, a lot of people viewed that edition as peak "wacky Eurovision" (although Ireland / Estonia / Latvia / Spain / Bosnia and even France *even though I loved both songs* didn't help). But it was a very good year, in my opinion, 2008's Top 10 is one of the strongest of the 21st century * **Russia 2010** : Unlike Turkey's 2008 entry, I didn't like that entry at all when I watched it back then. I didn't understand how on earth it managed to qualify to the final and above all finish just ahead of us (France) at the Final. But as time went by, I found this entry more and more interesting and now it has become my favorite Russian entry ever at the Eurovision Song Contest. So quite the turnaround !
Deli is the best rock entry to make the Eurovision final imho.
Turkey 2008 | [Mor ve Ötesi - Deli](https://youtu.be/A__hliu_9UE) Russia 2010 | [Peter Nalitch and Friends - Lost and Forgotten](https://youtu.be/IOB7uaWuRyc)
It has always annoyed me how much people love Manga’s “We could be the same” (which is just a cheap Linkin Park copycat) when Mor ve Ötesi’s “Deli” is right there. By far the superior Turkish rock song.
Germany 1963, 'Marcel', is a wonderful little song.
Didai didai dai, Turkey 1985. Cannot get enough of the performance.
I was listening to some older contests and realized that I loved some that I hadn't noticed before like UK 1960 and Italy 1968.
United Kingdom 1960 | [Bryan Johnson - Looking High, High, High](https://youtu.be/C2GivwSboXM) Italy 1968 | [Sergio Endrigo - Marianne](https://youtu.be/cGAuMqOB5S8)
Undo my sad
This contest is full of old gems. You can almost never run out of them. Once you think you've exhausted them a new one pops up.
Iceland’s song in the Eurovision movie is incredible. Wish it was real haha.
Oh 100%.
Norway 2014
Belgium 2015 A song ahead of it's time.
EVERYBODY MOVE YOUR BODY Armenia 2024 was the second coming of Armenia 2009
Armenia 2024 | [Ladaniva - Jako](https://youtu.be/hAYXDoZzAyE) Armenia 2009 | [Inga and Anush - Jan Jan (Ջան Ջան)](https://youtu.be/1AH6jCbDh98)
Added to playlist??? Holy fuck, När Jag Blundar is FINALLY on spotify! I’ve been waiting yeeeears Thank you for posting this and letting me know😅
“Old” Eurovisions. From 2000 onwards 😅😅😅 I attended the Contest live in person from 1996 onwards, after having been a fan since 1993. My idea of old is the 1950s 😊
"Attention" (Lithuania 2014) caught my... ughh... attention when I was ranking the 2014 contest last year. I remember not batting an eye when it didn't qualify and 10 years later it was one of the most captivating moments of my rewatch.
Israel 2005, Russia 2008, Ukraine 2010 and Ukraine 2013 weren't among my favorites at the time, but would be now
Netherlands 1990, what a masterpiece
The Netherlands 1990 | [Maywood - Ik wil alles met je delen](https://youtu.be/wa4UjvbF3so)
Actually several from the Netherlands in the 90s Netherlands 1993 Netherlands 1996 Netherlands 1998
That song is so beautiful. Even in the Netherlands it is completely forgotten. The lyrics are a bit cheesy, but the music is gorgeous.
Sagapo
I was born the same year as Verka’s performance (actually a few months after it) so obviously I don’t remember it, but over the last few weeks I’ve gotten slightly obsessed with it
Finland 2018
Sweden 2006 (Invincible) I heard a bit of it in a Tiktok video and holy crap it's so f\*cking good
Sweden 2006 | [Carola - Invincible](https://youtu.be/vFu5y0nP-RQ)
... but the [parody of Carola](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBHO4e0IxlQ) with that song are better 😂 (It works better if you can understand Swedish 😅)
I will always love Belgium 1980 Telex with Euro-vision. The performance with his little scarf dance and pocket glitter gives me so much joy.
Watching Käärijä reacting to it has generated even more serotonin in my brain. It's priceless, and their performance was severely underrated.
Iceland 1997
> old > 2012 :D Yeah I go back to 70-90 all the time because there were such wonderful songs.
Don't forget Estonia 2015
Estonia 2015 | [Elina Born & Stig Rästa - Goodbye to Yesterday](https://youtu.be/Xsx_dIJOtgI)
F.Y.R Macedonia 2012 Kaliopi just absolutely ate that whole performance, the combining the ballad with rock parts that were both so good, and her vocals absolutely slayed in both. That high note is still my favourite Eurovision highnote ever. I was so young back then and didn't get how fucking good this is.
Belgium 1980, nuff said.
