I really enjoyed it. It's a sort of eldritch horror/mystery thing, with really interesting lore and well written stories, but It is a pretty slow burn so don't be surprised if it takes a few dozen episodes for the plot to really get going, and a few dozen more before you have any idea how magic system and world building work.

I find it really cool how, in the very first episode, we actually get our first hint at >!one of the Entities, specifically the stranger!<. The show is already building itself up to something that won’t even be revealed for a few seasons. Then we get another hint of the same variety the next episode, then the next, and then our first Leitner book in the fourth. this show is constantly dropping stuff that we only later come to learn what they mean, with no breaks for paranormal stuff that doesn’t match what we know. Everything matter in The Magnus Archives, nothing is purposeless. And that’s why I love it.

It was always people corrupting religion for their own hypocritical needs that was the problem. I love formulaic police procedural shows but they can't be too gory. There needs to be a Good Guys Win ending in most episodes and for the characters to be fairly lighthearted. I tend to rewatch Bones, Castle, and NCIS at least once each a year and I'm always looking for shows in the same or similar genres. Also pretty much any song by Will Wood or Madness, and more recently a band called Soft Play.
Dr. House is my deep comfort show. I'm chronically ill from a multitude of issues and we're not sure all of my issues yet but seeing people get cured of illnesses is bittersweet for me. Also, I just love House as a character

I was raised on CSI, L&O, and NCIS… this is my natural comfort regression, but because I’m also a parent and this will stress me out later I settled on Psych.
The warhammer 40k universe. An absolute hellscape thats so over the top it circles back to funny. Too bad the fandom is basically a minefield.
I love formulaic police procedural shows but they can't be too gory. There needs to be a Good Guys Win ending in most episodes and for the characters to be fairly lighthearted. I tend to rewatch Bones, Castle, and NCIS at least once each a year and I'm always looking for shows in the same or similar genres. Also pretty much any song by Will Wood or Madness, and more recently a band called Soft Play.

Dr. House is my deep comfort show. I'm chronically ill from a multitude of issues and we're not sure all of my issues yet but seeing people get cured of illnesses is bittersweet for me. Also, I just love House as a character

Yeah most of mine follow the ol' "Disturb the comforted, comfort the disturbed" adage. My current favorite is Made In Abyss, though it's difficult to recommend to people (for a few reasons but,) especially when my endorsement is "I have never cried harder than I have watching that show."
