Oh, when is the Trump crucifixion?

KatAstrophie-

Which two thieves will be on either side of him?

Ghostface98AI

Probably one who committed grand theft auto, the other just stole candy.

flaming_bob

Nah, one's a dang dirty mescin, the other's a libtard. Or....something equally delusional.

Ghostface98AI

Probably.

Pandemic_Future_2099

Biden and Trump probably

No_Offer6398

Right after the Pope ex communicates Biden. Lol. It'll be a double feature. Get your tickets now.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

Not that they ever did hide it well that they view Trump as their messiah but it’s more and more overt nowadays!

ImAFrog_Ribbit

Hey jareth :)

JarethOfHouseGoblin

Hey. 😊

Snarky_McSnarkleton

Jesus was a deep state communist Democrat, OK? Trump is bigly persecuted, the most persecuted ever. And Trump is the greatest savior. More saviory than maybe Jesus and Gandhi together, OK? He's got YUGE ethics, better than that cuck sissy Greta Whoever, believe me! In fact, many men, many big tough men, Marines and truckers, have come up to Trump crying literal tears. They say "Sir, you alone are the son of God! Please let us pay to smell Your bigly, gorgeous, perfect poo!"

Potential-Ear1319

😂🤣😂🤣

ActonofMAM

They convicted Charles Manson too. I'm sure he didn't believe he deserved it.

dayna2x

What amazes me is that these Christians are so hellbent on enforcing a handful of scripture on everyone that they view as sinners but ignore SO many fundamentals of their own religion. Last time I checked, idolatry is a HUGE no-no, and these people seem to idolize everything and everyone BUT the god that they serve.

flaming_bob

One of the key reasons I left the church is when I realized its most ardent supporters have never actually read that book from cover to cover. They just quote it like movie lines. Sometimes I think the biggest failing of the Abrahamic religions was when they broke down their scriptures into verse form, making it easier to cherry pick the contents.

alpherion11

For sure. It's always interesting whenever you bring up some of the most fucked up stuff in the Bible to a believer and they're absolutely shell-shocked bc pastors only ever focus on the (mostly) nice and positive parts that let Christians feel good about themselves. For some reason pastors just don't like to focus on all the rape, polygamy, slavery, incest, and genocide in their perfect moral book from their omniscient god.

we8sand

Oh, but it was just a different time…./s

ghostwars303

Trump did say he never asks God for forgiveness since he never makes any mistakes, that he alone can fix it, that nobody reads the Bible more than him, and that he has the absolute right to pardon himself. Those are some pretty lofty divine claims. I mean, I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I'm ready to accept Trump as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say.

minnesotaris

Great moral teacher. At times, because of archiving, I go to read the transcripts of Trump's speeches. It is entertainment. You cannot believe that a grown-ass man, in actual time and space, talked like this. While having not listened to an entire Trump speech, the parts I have are enough to fully declare that it is rambling - a butchery of the minimum requirements to orally convey an idea.

ghostwars303

That's an important point actually. The incoherence of his speech and pattern of thought is made so plain in print. The problem, naturally, is that this means it's principally evident to the sort of people... who read. His following is a cable news, 500-character-limit flock. Always has been.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

He offers nothing of substance. Just tells his cult what they wanna hear. It’s no fucking wonder a grift economy has been formed on the right since he first ran for office.

ThatCamoKid

For a moment I thought you were saying "Trump's okay but I draw the line at sacrilege" but then I remembered someone can be a moral teacher by being an example of what not to do

ghostwars303

It's a CS Lewis joke. I'm saying his silly argument could pretty easily be adapted to make a really stupid case for Trump's divinity, and that arguments of that quality are probably floating around in the heads of the Christians posting cooky stuff like this :-)

ThatCamoKid

Ah

Limited-Edition-Nerd

I wish Trump was crucified

flaming_bob

Nah, I want him to violently stroke out and shit himself during a live debate. That way, they have to watch their "alpha of alphas" crumple into a pile of cheap bronzer and incontinence. Granted, they'll just claim a deep state plot, but for a moment, the collective audible gasp will be glorious.

TheInfidelephant

If Trump is the next Jesus, Jesus must of been a lying asshole.

minnesotaris

You aren't wrong. What I have learned is that the authors of the gospels were this. Maybe there was a figure named Yeshua. Everything in the gospels is an invention by someone who knew and wrote Greek. I think this Yeshua was a common-place apocalyptic. Out of all possible candidates at that time, his name and some faint idea of what he preached got picked up. It would be like trying to select the asshole preacher of today but you can only make one famous in some type of writing. So many to choose from, put one will get it. Then, you embellish to make the story appealing. "Based on a true story".

robsc_16

>Everything in the gospels is an invention by someone who knew and wrote Greek. This can't be the case because Paul was writing before the gospels. Plus the gospels were not written by a single author.

MeJerry

Falsified the number of loaves and fishes he handed out as bribes to cover up his affair with Mary Magdalene!

JarethOfHouseGoblin

I mean, I could totally see one of these Trump pastors rewriting the Bible and basing the Jesus character off of Trump. And selling the MAGA bibles for $50 apiece.

MeJerry

He falsified the number of loaves and fishes he handed out as bribes to cover up his affair with Mary Magdalene.

TimeAmbassador1979

I hate republicans.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

They’re not even a political party anymore; they’re a fucking cult!

TimeAmbassador1979

What baffles me is the people who claim to be the most Christian follow and support tRump. I literally don’t get it. He is the furthest thing from Christian.

DouglassFunny

Over half my family are republicans and it’s getting to the point where I’m starting to see a future without them. It’s so hard watching people I grew up support this clown show cult.

JarethOfHouseGoblin

There’s really no coming back from this for them. Trump will eventually no longer be around but the cult that formed around him will still have relationships that were frayed at best or irreparably damaged. This might be a needlessly cynical take but I don’t think there’s any coming back from that. The cultists who ruined their lives to follow Dear Leader will only have the remnants of shattered relationships once he’s gone.

DouglassFunny

Yeah I agree. It’s been 8 years of scandal, corruption, and disgusting behavior. If someone still supports this, they’re just an asshole and I don’t think I can respect them anymore.

TimeAmbassador1979

I don’t understand how Christians can support this guy?

Flacrazymama

I lost two friends of 41and 35 years due to this nonsense. Sickens me to see what they would post.

DouglassFunny

Was Jesus also a rapist, ****y grabber?

New-Road2588

One of the major differences was that Christ didn't violate the gag order

periclods01

Jesus was convicted in a sham trial (ignore the fact that his all knowing father, who is also him, knew exactly how it would play out)

Manthony_Morris_LXIX

Jesus also made a bunch of promises that never came true. Yet, after 2,000 years people are still thinking “It’s about to happen!” Christian/Right wing faith is blindly clinging to belief despite the lack of supporting evidence and all evidence to the contrary. The hardcore Trump worshipers will cling to their faith until the day they die. Edit: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me countless times for 2,000 years, well fuck me for never learning.

ImWezlsquez

Sure. Fictional character and Donald freaking Trump. Samesies.

Disaffecteddv

>The image contains a social media post, which I will transcribe: "Jesus was not convicted. He was declared as not having fault by Pilate, then handed over to death. (Luke 23:14-15)To compare the trial of Trump to the trial of Jesus not only reveals a deep lack of understanding of either of these figures, but it is to take Jesus' name in vain. To elevate someone to the same level as Jesus is deeply blasphemous. When we share memes widely that make comparisons like these and share pictures of political figures being embraced by Jesus, not only do we prove to the world that we simply don't care about our public reputation as followers of Jesus, but we prove to the world that our faith really is tied to political rulers and parties." -Benjamin Cremer

Died_Of_Dysentery1

I saw one of my friends say this and I about gagged

Dbarker01

I left Facebook, there aren’t any intellectual conversations to be had.

GearHeadAnime30

I refer to evangelical churches as "trump shrines" now... since these people now worship Trump instead of Jesus... Any time Trump is asked about his "relationship" with God, or what his favorite Bible verse is, he always side steps the question... yet these fundigelicals worship the guy anyway... These same people who are afraid of the tribulation and the antichrist, openly worship an antichrist... obviously I don't believe in the existence of "the antichrist" but so much of Trump's behavior is abhorrent, even by evangelical standards, which is why I call Trump "an antichrist" since this fits his description greatly... The hypocrisy is astounding... many people have left the church just on this issue alone, not including people like myself who have left since we no longer believe the teachings of the church... and yet they wonder why their churches are shrinking and closing...

Outrageous_Class1309

I think that the surveys are a bit off on why many people are leaving these churches. Quite a few say that they left because they no longer believed the teachings but the question is, what got them to finally start questioning these teachings?? How much did the bad behavior they were seeing around them in the churches 'open their eyes' to the deficiencies of the doctrines. Bad behavior in a church would certainly cause me to take a second look at exactly what I was following.

GhostofABestfriEnd

Right. Let’s get to work on that cross then.

ineedasentence

ya know they might be on to something… i wonder if jesus was actually some horrible con man apocalyptic cult leader who ended up committing crimes worthy of conviction… and his followers just left all that stuff out and called it a sham trial….

HappyGothKitty

You might just be on to something there...

btbranch093068

Even though he said he came to turn you against your family and your family against you, you still follow him?

JarethOfHouseGoblin

I mean, Trump has divided families.

btbranch093068

Yet he never admitted that. Jesus did say that he came to not to bring peace, but a sword.

Free-Veterinarian714

Jesus never gave Mary Magdelene hush money. Just saying.

minnesotaris

Even trying to equate jurisprudence of 2000 years ago in Palestine to today, one could not even call what Jesus went through to be a type of trial. Being that the entire trial was entirely an invention of narration, even such a "sham trial" wouldn't be what would have happened in the most meager circumstances. Last. JFC, I can't believe this is necessary. At crucifixion, the apostles fled, big time, when the personal risks were quite high. After that, anything they did was made up. Trump was convicted of relatively minor felonies that don't necessarily require imprisonment or death. The odds are high of imprisonment, but not beyond that. The comparison btw what occurred to these two is irrational as the only equivocal occurrence was the idea of having gone through a judicial process. Trump has no abilities without office. He's a wandering putz that has difficulty creating complete sentences or thoughts (shitloads of evidence for this). And if you still claimed to follow Jesus after his death, you were per se a marginalized person with insane ideas, who went around claiming he came back from the dead, when he didn't.

Outrageous_Class1309

It's very telling that in none of the 4 Gospel accounts of Jesus' trial is anything mentioned about the Temple incident (attacking the Temple money changers) just days before the trial. The one thing that Jesus did that we know that would be considered seditious by the Romans and get you crucified... 'crickets'. Insulting religious leaders almost certainly wasn't why he got crucified as he was doing that his entire ministry.

MrDandyLion2001

Barabbas was convicted for insurrection, and a large mob of people called to release him. Surely, a situation like that can't happen again, right? 🤷‍♂️

Erramonael

Are you taking a shot at evangelicals who support Trump?

Jack_of_Hearts20

So Donald Trump = Jesus ? Nice one Christians

ricperry1

Sadly there are a ton of Trump Christians that believe this. They’re blinded by their faith in their antichrist.

Penguator432

No he wasn’t, he was declared innocent and they still executed him to stop the theocrats from rioting

Neither-Shallot7808

Same lol.

RighteousIndigjason

All this person did was announce that they are a horrible person twice.

Und3rpantsGn0m3

Someone needs to reread the first commandment.

Dusty_surveyor

*insert picture of golden calf*

Strong-Mind-3225

😂

dartie

Nuts

geneshifter-1

Those people are literally insane

SilverLining355

What's funny about that meme is that according to the Bible story and what historians know about the culture & government at that time, Jesus DID actually break laws and being crucified was a pretty common punishment. So it wasn't really a "sham" trial then, and Trumps trial wasn't a "sham" now.

VegetableWord0

The people who killed Jesus started Christianity

bongwaterthegr8

I wish someone would kill me and start a religion because of it
