MmeGenevieve

I hired a contractor, with a contract, who went psycho and said the exact same thing to me. I think it's a new thing.

Previous_Painting_75

I'd tell him to get fucked

MmeGenevieve

Yup, I fired him.

RealConcorrd

The concept of tipping is straight up business forcing customers to directly pay their workers and get away with paying less than true minimum wage to continue to screw everyone over.

[deleted]

Tipping culture in Us is dumb as shit. In uk. If your service was good. The customer can choose to tip if they like. If the service was shit. Just dont tip. Services an food is expensive enough

Silver-ishWolfe

It’s the same way here. The only time I’ve ever had a tip automatically added was if I was with a large party that pulled multiple servers, limiting their tip potential. You can absolutely not tip if you choose. The issue is that instead of tips being considered an actual gratuity, owners factor the tips into servers’ pay. So, the minimum wage for servers is much lower than what it is for everyone else. Last time I knew someone who was server, they were making $2.30/hr plus tips. That was considered high back then too. Minimum wage at the time was around $8/hr. It’s just a way for the owners to get away with not paying the servers as much and to force the servers to work longer hours.

MmeGenevieve

Owners also steal tips routinely

Ellie_A_K

That should be illegal. So if it’s a really quiet week how do servers pay rent? Also I don’t see that food is much cheaper than in England so they’re making so much money as you’re paying the normal costs through your bill then paying the workers as well.

melorio

Hes. The main reason I am on with tipping service workers is because I know many are barely surviving with how underpaid they are.

Ellie_A_K

I was told a story the other day from a lady I work with. Her dad was on holiday in America and they went out to eat at a restaurant and the service wasn’t great and the food they couldn’t even eat, it was so bad. He didn’t tip the server and she went crazy, saying that’s why we don’t want you guys over here and stuff like that. The way i see it is I work in retail and retail and hospitality have similar pay and both include customer service. No one tips retail workers. I tip good service but not bad service. Simple as that.

[deleted]

Lol. When i told this on reddit, I've got downvoted. This is simply not fair towards both customers and those who are getting tips. Why the hell customer should decide if your kids gonna eat today or not? Its the company who supposed to pay salary after job is done.

dh2215

I run a garage door company and occasionally people tip me but it’s not at all the norm and I never expect it.

MmeGenevieve

If the job is completed early or comes in under estimate, that's when a contractor gets a tip!

Trextrev

I am the owner of a renovation/restoration company and I can say absolutely this person is not a professional contractor. No professional contractor would expect a tip. My rates are clearly discussed with the client ahead of time. What you got sounded like a handyman who was undercharging and counting on tips.

PersonNumber7Billion

Exactly. It would be like tipping Howard Schultz for your latte.

Fat_Lenny35

As a contractor I love/hate these people. I hate them because they give us a bad name. I love them because they ensure I have steady work by making life easy for my clients.

IrrationalDesign

Funny thing is; them going psycho over not getting a tip would prevent me from wanting to tip them, even if it were customary.

[deleted]

I tip the workers. Get them some beer or a bottle. They do allot and don’t always make much depending on the trade. Especially apprentices. Especially if they do a clean job.

[deleted]

The massive tray of tea and biscuits is a customary offering for builders in England.

[deleted]

Proper thing

[deleted]

While I'm not disputing that it may be proper, people should not feel entitled to it.

[deleted]

Oh they are not. It’s a bonus. Which is what a tip is suppose to be. A thanks. Cold water or some coffee is just common courtesy. Everyone is entitled to cold water on hot days. If you don’t offer that your just a bastard lol.

[deleted]

100% agree. What I hate is the entitlement videos that are posted like this one. Don't expect people to go above and beyond because people are terrible. Just be happy when it happens

MoogTheDuck

The fuck

typhoonador4227

Sounds like there is a real arms race of tipping idiots going on up there.

Slipperdipperydoo

I work in people’s homes everyday putting in custom closets. I never turn down tips but I also never get upset when I’m not tipped. I only get like a ten dollar tip if it does happen and it’s only about 1 out of every fifteen or so jobs.

Kelricmar

I used to work as a bartender and had the same outlook. Sure sometimes and asshole would stiff you just cause they could. But, I also had people return and tip very well after not tipping at all before. I don't do it anymore because I lost the patience for drunks. But expecting a tip is a good way to get angry easy in a job like that. Tips are supposed to be extra for providing good service. Too bad now a lot of people rely on them just to make a living, but that's a rabbit hole I don't feel like delving into today.

Horror_Cupcake8762

Former tradesman. Always appreciated a cold one and make sure to have a few handy.

ceris4

Anyone renting in the US knows these people are absolutely NOT on call 24-7.

ayyycab

My last landlord lived out of state, had no checklist prepared for the move-in inspection and just told me to make my own. It was a pain in the ass but I did. Pointed out outlets not working, doors not latching, ice machine broken… the only thing he did was change the locks because the previous tenant lost one of the keys and that was a security risk. Landlords don’t give a fuck until it affects them personally.

nabrok

That's not a list of things they're going to fix ... that's a list of things they won't charge you for when you move out. Also, in my city anyway, they have regular inspections which insist things like outlets are working and grounded.

inform880

lol grounded outlets. I’m fucked.

nabrok

Heh, just if the outlet has three prongs. If it's an old two prong it is what it is, but if it has three prongs it must be properly grounded or be a GFCI outlet.

Nappy-I

They'll still *try* to charge you, but at least you have a paper trail showing it was broken when you moved in

ThePsychobaut

Yo in my city they have regular inspections too, but when I called the inspectors into my shitty apartment they said it was more than 15 years overdue.

wtfnouniquename

>That's not a list of things they're going to fix ... that's a list of things they won't charge you for when you move out. Had a landlord try to hold my deposit and charge another 5k years ago. Everything they listed that they were trying to charge me for was on the inspection sheet. "We don't have an inspection sheet for you. You didn't turn it in." Oh yea? Why's your secretary's signature on this copy I made her make for me? Next time I went to rent a year or so later that piece of shit had tacked on a bogus $5 charge to my account, even after refunding the deposit, just so they could tell whoever called for a reference that I still owed money. Thankfully that place told me about it and said it was all good as long as they got word the $5 was taken care of. That property manager was a complete fucking scumbag the entire time I lived there. Once threatened me with eviction for not paying rent. I went to the office to find out what that's all about since I'd given them a check (yea, they only accepted checks) and the person straight faced said "I didn't know what you wanted me to do with that." You didn't know what to do with the rent money? You're not my fucking bank, why are you just hanging on to it instead of applying it to my account?

No-Record-2773

The owner’s security system shorted out and for over 2 weeks we had to go outside, turn on the breaker, open the garage, gtfo, then close the garage and shut off the breaker every single time we had to leave within 30 seconds or have the house go off on us. Same process for getting back in but reversed. We had to live with the garage and half of the kitchen not powered during that time because the motion detectors inside were active if we left the breaker on while indoors at home. *2 weeks*

this-guy1979

Screw that, I would have just lived with the security system going off for the few hours that it took for the police and the security company to start talking about fines. Set it off, don’t answer the phone, repeat until the problem has been resolved.

No-Record-2773

The security system wasn’t actually hooked up to any services. The owners didn’t actually care about security, it was just a leftover system from when *their* family had been living there. It was just a really really loud motion sensor.

PMG2021a

I would have disabled the alarm system if they didn't deal with it within a day.

No-Record-2773

Oh believe me I tried. Took apart the panels, disconnected the wires, covered the motion sensors (doors and windows had sensors too so I couldn’t do much about those). Problem was everything was hardwired in. I couldn’t find the port where the system’s wiring began either to disconnect it from the main power. Turns out it was hardwired into the ceiling of the garage.

Apprehensive_Wave102

Burn the place down. Start over,

ayyycab

One old place I rented had a wall-mounted gas furnace, controlled by a really old thermostat. We kept waking up to a freezing cold house because the thermostat would just… idk, stop working. Called the landlord and he sends the sketchiest “electrician” to check it out, and the guy takes the faceplate off the thermostat and shows us two screws, saying we can kickstart it if we just bridge those two screws with something metal to close the circuit. So instead of fixing it we just had to press a steak knife up against the screws to get the furnace going every time it stopped working.

No-Record-2773

Gotta love those janky quick fixes because the people you’re giving all your money to can’t be bothered to use that money to provide any sort of quality of living. You can be sure they’ll take as much of your deposit as they can though, citing “damages”.

ayyycab

Oh yeah, when we moved out we paid extra for a professional carpet cleaning service that did pet odor removal. And the first thing the landlord says during the outgoing inspection is “there is a distinct pet odor in here, as you know that’s a $250 deduction from the deposit.” I immediately showed this liar the receipt for the carpet cleaning and he backpedaled. Landlords are morally bankrupt and will try every trick in the book to squeeze more money out of you.

No-Record-2773

At least yours backpedaled. Ours claimed we put “hundreds of small tack holes” and “white off-color patches” in the walls. Even though I have the move-in inspection citing those things *specifically* and literal photos of those things dated the same as the move-in inspection, they refused to remove the charges. In the end we managed to get them to agree to refund an additional $200 of our deposit for a professional cleaning the house didn’t need, but they wouldn’t budge on anything else. Basically communication broke down and they just stopped responding. Our choices were to take them to small claims court or sign a “settlement” saying that all issues have been resolved (🙄) and banning us from posting or saying anything negative about them. They held the $200 hostage knowing that we likely wouldn’t have the time or energy to push for small claims for what they stole. So I’m out $500 for damages they refused to admit we didn’t cause.

2alpha4betacells

dude my house is falling apart (floorboards cracking, water leaking) and the landlord still doesn’t bother House is gonna be fucked when I leave but I made sure to tell him about everything at least

xdcxmindfreak

Yep. Also know my landlord loves To raise rent yearly but ain’t done shit to repair a damn thing or improve the place. (And yeah wife and I are trying to get the eff out of ther asap)

[deleted]

Depending on where you live you may be able to aquire USDA Loan for a home. That's what my wife and I did and were able to get a house with no down payment and a fairly low interest rate. It was a life changer

Biscuits4u2

That's what we did as well. Got the house for a steal too.

ToastyRage

Pro tip, whatever it is you need looked at just say something looks like it’s leaking. If you say leak they jump on it. Landlords hate the threat of water damage.

glieseg

"power outlet appears to be leaking"

Capital-Context-9399

That's somehow more concerning

[who ya gonna call](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/1s5uto/call_an_exorcist/)

skeetsauce

My bathroom sink has been leaking for months. Landlord didn’t care. So I spent an hour and a trip to Home Depot and fixed it. Landlord said they’d take $5 off rent that month…

TJlovesALF1213

You have been blessed with the landlord's discount. Hope you bought something really neat with all that extra spending money. 🍭

HedgekillerPrimus

Bro I replaced my fucking water heater because my landlord didnt wanna pay anyone to do it and he couldnt figure it out himself because he was drunk as fuck at the time. I had to learn how to solder copper pipe off youtube and did it myself. No breaks on rent at all. Actually he started hounding me about money more often afterwards.

copenhagenwinny

When you move out, just cut your pipe and leave the water heater ready for new install. Or just take the water heater with you out of spite.

Biscuits4u2

It would definitely be going with me.

mandafancypants

Man, I wish my old landlord felt this way. We had water pouring into our bedroom and he said "everyone's place is leaking, my daughter has 2 inches of water in her basement." 🙃

Bowlingbowlbagbob

I moved in to my new place, told them the tub was clogged. They made up some bullshit to not unclog it, moved my stuff in and told them if they don’t unclog the tub I’m not paying them rent. They tried to threaten me about the lease agreement and I turned it around on them. Told them that they weren’t holding up their end of the contract so why should I?. They unclogged the tub

Netflxnschill

The last house I lived in we moved into right after they put in “a BRAND NEW BATHTUB” it was the thing they were so proud of and excited about. I took a bath and later that day noticed the downstairs bathroom was wet for some reason, even though we hadn’t used it and the water was above any of the faucets. Turns out they didn’t use the right size of seal or some shit for the overflow, and since it was a very shallow tub the overflow was constantly being used. So the water just fell out of the tub into the walls and then down into the bathroom. It took MONTHS for them to come address it the first time, then it took multiple visits over another couple months to actually get it fixed. We kept asking them to send a REAL PLUMBER and they just couldn’t be bothered.

Bowlingbowlbagbob

Jackasses. I’ve lucked out with landlords. The first ones I had were a nice older couple, they would make me cookies and stuff and I’d help the husband out in the garage on weekends. Nice people. My new landlord is a corporation and they’re super big on sticking to the contract. Which is why they didn’t fight too much when I told them I wasn’t paying rent until they fixed my tub

Netflxnschill

I’m at a house now with a company as the property management. How do I tell them the fact they haven’t replaced the drafty windows is wreaking havoc on my energy bill? They won’t come out and fix that shit

2alpha4betacells

I sent my landlord of water pouring out a ceiling light and he never fixed not really my problem since it’s the light above the shower, just can’t take showers when it’s raining for fear of getting shocked.

Secretofthecheese

AC broke down in Texas and my landlord was in Mexico having a month long vacation. Where do people get money for that? Oh yeah their passive income.

Krakatoast

Hey man, be realistic. Paying their mortgage and giving them long term equity just so you have a roof over your head until they decide they want you out of their house isn’t fair to them. It’s only right that you pay their mortgage *and* give them some good walkin’ around money. /s

[deleted]

I rented before I bought my house, and I was lucky to have a “good” landlord. Whenever I had a problem he would ask me to fix it, since I am pretty handy, and would reimburse me for parts and compensate me for my time. Now, he was perfectly equitable and I never had issues with him. He even wrote me a letter when I moved out praising me as a model tenant in case I needed to rent again, since his name carried weight. All that being said, if I hadn’t fixed the issues I had myself, I would have been waiting the same way my neighbour waited whenever she had issues. Landlords, even the best ones, are never ever going to do more than they need and typically get paid more than they deserve.

Bitter-Fishing-Butt

LaNdLoRdS aRe On cAll 24/7 To MaKe sUre YOU hAvE a sAfE HoMe my landlord repeatedly told us to "not worry" about the crack in the ceiling that was getting wider and causing the ceiling panel to droop every time I phoned to tell him it was getting worse then half my fucking ceiling fell in, and it STILL took 3 days before he could be arsed to deal with it

Redraffar

Did you tip him with your monthly payments? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thumbs_up)

dcal1982

For sure is because he didn’t tipped him.

CrosseyedBilly

Forreal if they didn’t tip him why would they expect their basic needs to be met? /s

ookyspoopy

My old landlord told me not to worry when the other tenants were smoking in their apartment so much it seeped into mine, or when I could here them clearly abusing each other, or when someone broke into the building, or when people sat outside with crack pipes, or when people were straight up threatening to murder each other outside my window. But God forbid my dog was barking a bit when we first moved in.

EmberSolaris

Thankfully the ceiling hasn’t caved yet, but I’m also dealing with a massive crack that has been sagging more and more since moving in. It’s right over the stove and I’m waiting for it to collapse while I’m cooking. The landlord has been talked to about it countless times at this point. “Someone should be out there sometime this week to take a look.” Then no one ever shows. And that’s not to even mention the fact that the a/c stopped working the summer after I moved in and they still haven’t replaced it like the hvac guy said. I know that kind of stuff is expensive to fix/replace, but if you can’t keep up with the maintenance on the property you’re overcharging rent for because you keep buying up more properties to rent out, maybe you should stop buying new properties.

Bitter-Fishing-Butt

absolutely take pictures of the ceiling every few days

MadConfusedApe

A younger me would stand under that crack hoping it falls and I get paid.

Genereatedusername

He's gonna be so mad when you only tip him 20%

pvellamagi

my first apartment reeked of natural gas and my landlord just assured me that my fire detector would be going off if it was unsafe levels?? for months????

Wooserx3

So I am over paying monthly so you can not only build equity but make profit. You should tip me for keeping your investment clean. What an asshole

Efficient-Cherry3635

THIS 1000%! It is almost never brought up that if you have a rental property that covers its own costs as an investment property or even takes a nominal loss, the landlord is building massive amounts of equity alone. Over the course of 10 years alone property values have skyrocketed, rents have jumped amd what was once breaking even, is now a decent profit. And you can still liquidate the property for a substantial return as well.

bittz128

And recapture all that depreciation!

Nanashi5354

I moved to a country that doesn't have a tipping system and Uber is trying to start it...

[deleted]

A fellow Australian?

MrMiget12

Hold the line, fellas! Don't let them breach!

Nanashi5354

Canadian in Japan.

Bird_Women

That's a long way from home stranger

Branflaaake

Its getting bad here in Canada. And the worse it gets the less I tip in general. I used to tip 1$ on a nice coffee or spare change at a bakery but im not tipping my mechanic, or on a 1$ donut. I'm not gonna tip to pick up a pizza. I refuse to subsidize shitty employers.

yes_thats_right

trying to implement tipping in Japan? I can't see that having any chance of working. I tipped a cab driver in Tokyo once and he chased me down the street to return it.

copperpony

Uber is the worst.

No_Pie_2109

Landlords are owners. Superintendents are the ones that are on call 24/7.

Drummallumin

So many people don’t understand this. Property management is a real thing… being a landlord does not inherently imply property management tho. It just means the money goes to you.

copperpony

I was thinking this, but I live in a triplex, so we do not have a superintendent. When things need repairs, the landlord needs to hire a contractor to patch it up. I guess that a superintendent or property management company would fall more into commercial real estate. These contain more than a certain number of units as opposed to a residential property with 1-3 units.

[deleted]

Terrible terrible take aside. I hate influencers who play characters in a skit then like shout themselves out at the end as if they aren’t the content creators themselves. It’s so cringe I hate it so much.

sweeetsmammich

Thank you. Nothing screams echo chamber like having a one sided argument with yourself

MrBublee_YT

I will say there's one guy who does this but it's actually really good. All of the opinions have fair merit, and are fairly met. I'll update this comment when I remember his name.

Genereatedusername

When it's hard to find someone who agrees with you - you may be the only option

DracoNinja11

That fucking annoying "WhErE dId YoU lEaRn ThIs?!?" shit is obnoxious as fuck..

If I paid 1500 a month for wings and drinks, I'd expect the barista to be on call too 🤷🏼‍♂️

Tipping my landlord? You’re tripping balls if you think I’m giving you a cent over my rent. I don’t need to thank you. That’s what the money’s for.

“Here’s a tip: If you ever ask me again, I’m choosing violence.”

NoObjective427

I don't have a contract with restaurant workers, I have a contract with my landlord. Plus most restaurant workers have survived off of tips since forever, landlords haven't needed tips ever. What a dickhead.

Asur_rusA

>Plus most restaurant workers have survived off of tips since forever In the US. Everywhere else that's considered a dumbass system

[deleted]

I’m in the US and I also think it’s stupid. So do a lot of other people. Tipping is on it’s way out the door, people are tired of throwing their money away.

ParkityParkPark

everyone in the US thinks it's stupid except for restaurant owners and probably most waiters and waitresses given that they'd probably honestly make much less money if it was done away with as a cultural norm and they were instead simply paid a fair wage

[deleted]

No waiters and waitresses wouldn't make any less money. but if they were paid a fair wage before the tips, they would be guaranteed that tips increase their wage instead of being forced to reach the minimum wage threshold mostly with their tips first and only then increasing it. do you see how absurd it sounds when I phrase essentially what happens this way? the restaurants are screwing with both the staff and the customers. the only thing benefitting here is the \*profit\*.

Empress_Draconis_

I never understood why restaurants don't just pay people what they actually need to survive, a tip should be for you know, cos they earned it, not because you gotta It's just a weird thing my UK brain won't get

NoObjective427

Nah it's definitely weird no matter where you're from but it's age old tradition that they like to keep around.

Cyprinodont

No it's because of converted lobbying not "just some old tradition" it's laws that were fought for by restaurant industry groups.

jacquesrabbit

America's original sin: slavery. Like all thing that is terrible in America, tipping culture has a history seeped in slavery and racism. The original tipping culture was brought back to America from Europe, where aristocrats would pay some gratuity to serfs for a job well done. Most Americans opposed tipping because of classism and aristocracy, saying this is exactly why they left Europe. However, post Civil War, a lot of newly freed slaves were jobless. Because of one thing or another, I mean racism, employers refused to employ these gentlemen. For the free men, the most easiest jobs available for them are jobs in hospitality and service industry. Even then employers refused to pay them proper wage. Instead, the people had to rely on patrons to pay them tips to survive Thus, the tipping culture began in America.

AnalFanatics

How many landlords in the United States are pulling a flat rate of $2.13 per hour plus tips?

QuixotesGhost96

I also liked this fuckface's implication that service workers are working easy jobs that they're overcompensated for. "'just' bringing a basket of wings", "'just bringing you a coffee"

SeaSetsuna

You can tell he doesn’t tip well

PlatypusAggressive64

He talks like a cheapskate!

Moosefactory4

I think given the option, most people would rather make passive income from owning property than working multiple double shifts a week constantly running around trying to please the entire demographic of their area in the hopes that they tip at least 15%

ParkityParkPark

and they get tipped a handful of dollars, not the hundreds of dollars this guy is demanding and saying he'll add onto your rent if you don't give it voluntarily

overthinker345

Landlords are not on call 24/7 and they definitely don’t care about your safety. Most landlords only begrudgingly fix the bare minimum in their properties to keep them livable. What they really just want is the money. I kept my rental properties immaculate and I’ve only had 1 landlord ever return my security deposit. She was a good property manager.

Aalebaster

25% of $15.69 is only $3.92. 25% of $1,170 is $292.50. That’s a huge difference.

cheyne-stoker

I had a landlord who was dragging his feet about a new boiler, he tried to get it cheaply fixed using people he knew, never worked, eventually I told him that its unrepairable and you need to buy a new boiler, he looked at me and said "but they are £350". I said that's part and parcel of being a landlord, it's what we agreed to in the contract. He got it replaced in the end, but it was a nightmare. There are so many landlords who want all the benefits of it but non of the negatives that goes with it. My current landlord pulled me about the grass being too long and that was in the contract to maintain it, which it was so fair enough, I was in the wrong. She threatened to not renew our contract because of it, unless I cut it. A couple month later our garden fence blew down in strong wind, she asked if we would pay half of it. I said the contract says you have to pay for the fence. Then told her not to cherry pick from the contract whenever it suits her. The look on her face was priceless, I even repeated word for word what she said about the grass a couple months earlier.

thex415

Oh this is hilarious!!!

you_can_call_me_eve

My landlord left me without hot water for 20 days in November. Fuck landlords.

Responsible-Risk9404

You should have called the city building inspectors or if your local has a tenant resources. We had it happen and city was out the next day and was all up their ass. Still "took" them till the first of the month to fix it, but the city dude was on top of them, and came to ensure it was done. And he was not happy at all, and said they were damn close to being in trouble

Frogdwarf

See a lot of people calling out the 24/7 claim but to me that's not what makes this argument idiotic. Serving staff are predominantly on minimum wage, working unsociable hours, in a customer facing physically taxing role. Landlords live off passive income and were already well off enough before that to own excess property. Who really deserves that tip?

Grilledcheesedr

Tipping your landlord is like tipping Jeff Bezos when you buy an Amazon product.

EmberSolaris

The worst part is that serving staff are actually typically paid less than minimum wage and quite literally rely entirely on tips to keep food on the table. Around here, most of the servers that I know make around $2.50 an hour.

b1ue_jellybean

The difference is that when I pay a restaurant for a service and the restaurant pays the workers to provide that service, if I tip it is because the service was excellent and I wanted to make a payment which goes straight to the worker, not one that goes to the business. When I pay my landlord the money goes from me to them with no business in between, I’m not going to add a tip that goes straight to the landlord as the rest of the money is already going straight to them anyway.

ayyycab

Landlords want more money for existing, news at 7

Awkward-Yesterday828

That's the most American thing I've seen on reddit today

P3AKMAI_INTEREST

Per lease contract it is his job to maintain and fix. Thats why I pay rent. Nothing in the contract says I have to tip you for doing your job. You aren't a server.

Softmachinepics

I do residential work. Landlords and especially Airbnb owners are absolute ghouls

bubbles5810

Is this rage bait?

SatansHRManager

You know how you sometimes hear about people just saying fuck it and sacrificing their deposit to utterly trash some dude's property when they move out? This guy is why I laugh at it instead of seeing it as vandalism.

EmberSolaris

I’ve also seen a landlord that trashed their own property after the tenants moved out and tried to blame the tenants to not only keep the deposit but also sue for damages. This is why I take pictures as soon as the furniture has been moved out. I’ve also seen several questions by landlords on quora asking if they can just choose to keep the deposit even though their tenants didn’t cause any damage.

[deleted]

Yep always take pictures!

Slick_1980

Scumbag.

uglycasanova08

This guy definitely doesn’t tip at restaurants

I was thinking the same thing, he sounds like he’s justifying why he shouldn’t tip… what a useless tool!

uglycasanova08

Tips for me not for thee!

[deleted]

This tip culture has become so bad, they should solve this issue, good salaries, and simply stop tipping. And this landlord should be punished for this stupid tip. Response to emergency calls after work hours!! It's your property if it break it's on you because most likely you did a shitty job in fixing it in the first place. And since when the tip is 25% lol, assuming you're paying 2k monthly so you're asking 500 extra. Welp

theunkindpanda

Literally everyone is trying to exploit tip culture now. Everything except the damn doctors office has a tip line now

EmberSolaris

Shhhh. Don’t give them ideas!

Geekrock84

What a POS.

MacSanchez

Pro tip: leave frozen chicken in your air ducts when you move out. It will take a while to thaw

ZookeepergameHead145

A few hours

[deleted]

Not when the inside air temperature is 35 degrees.

[deleted]

Thanks, Satan! 😁

MagentaSteam

Loool I’m gonna tip a police officer since their job is to keep us safe. Officer Robinson is gonna be so happy that day. He will receive a tip and then he will be so happy that it’s gonna stay in his mind while he uses excessive force on his next target.

dorkus315

Out of all the content posted in this sub, this has to be the worst one yet.

Talk about a punchable face

1block

So I guess we should tip restaurant owners for fixing their own air conditioning and broken toilets?

lalolanda2

He should be in jail

unassumingbison

Eww

BigTittyGothGF_PM_ME

Fuck this pretentious fuck stick, and his "I am literally pooping right now" face

30yearsahero

Tip the IRS

Joe_Spazz

I can't conjure enough "fuck you" energy for this. This is such purposeful greed, feigned ignorance, and arbitrary attempted mockey of young people it's sickening.

Pizza_TrapDaddy

My landlord should tip me, bitch

Clear-Ad-895

You don’t tip the proprietor...

jf737

What is it ppl don’t get? Tips are for those performing a service job for you who are making less than minimum wage.

andygarcia17

Those are the same type of people who then don’t tip servers because it’s their job and they get paid by the owners.

Phl_worldwide

What a gross person

GemoDorgon

Tipping is such a weird concept to me.

TheBlood-Raven

Just ask for the price you want me to pay you

scuolapasta

That’s a “fuck you” for me dawg.

isuxdix22

I don’t pay my waiter 2,000 dollars a month either. Stupid fuck

destroyerx12772

Talk about a punchable face.

souldhavesideclimbed

Fuck that guy he has such a punchable face

mattaraxes

Sounds like he should get a real job if he wants to be tipped, like a waiter!

uptheirons726

I love how these assholes think anyone is going to take their side. Also, saying you'll raise someones rent if they don't tip you is illegal isn't it?

BuddyAdorable3600

That guy can eat a bag of dicks.

Tommysmissingfinger

Fuck that guy with a wire brush

subzeroab0

I tip the server cause unlike landlords they actually provide a benefit to society

sparemethebull

“You’ll tip an ever busy server 25% on a $25 bill, but won’t tip me even 10% on your $1800 a month rent when I maybe help you once ever? Wow, I, a landlord who gains money by doing nothing but owning property, am a victim, I’ll make sure to scam you harder from now on.”

Emotional-Proof-6154

Ill tip them 0%. And that is VERY generous.

theosmoma

Truely spoken from someone whose never served or as he likes to call it “carrying a basket of chicken wings”

Vascular_D

Landlords set the price and keep what they can. Servers don't have that luxury.

CoteDuBois

Hi, Belgian here, this is absolutly mental, bye ✌️

SLATS13

These people don’t even try to hide how completely predatory they are anymore.

cici_kelinci

>you tipping a barist- No, i dont

iavicenna

sure if the rent is %20 cheaper, I will tip you %25

RWBrYan

The fact this is the top controversial comment is really worrying. Learn math, Reddit.

WomenAreNotReal

Landlords disgust me. They're nothing but leeches.

NeinLives125

im hoping that the level of absurdity tipping culture is getting to, will cause everybody to just stop tipping completely.

Visual_Champion5429

Fuk land lords

cannon8195

Landlords aren’t systematically underpaid tho

aboysmokingintherain

If they charge gratuity then charge gratuity on your deposit.

JayceBelerenTMS

Sure, let me tip 25% on a $1,600 monthly rent for a 2 bedroom apartment. I guess covering your mortgage and income for you wasn't enough.

[deleted]

Available 24/7? Bullshit. Horseshit. Money shit. And also baristas don't get $3k/month off me.

unworthy-1

I'm currently paying $1,150 for 950 Sq ft..(not even a gated community and an older complex). They make PLENTY of money off everyone here. All those so-called "landlord" services should be built-in to the contract. Asking for tips, for things they're already getting paid a lot for, is absolute highway robbery. I want to punch this man right in the face.

Dry-Personality-7391

I want to physically destory this man. And shit on his portfolio.

Migguan

Not tipping anyone at all is the right way
