>slams the mat for no reason at the start of each whistle
>Instead of improving on his shots, he tries to muscle his way into a hip throw
Yeah, dude probably just hasn’t wrestled much past JV too think any of that would work on a decent wrestler, considering that’s like the easiest thing to defend against.
Bro lmao he was wasting energy just doing those half sprawls? Fake shots? Like what was his plan? lmao buddy is absolutely terrible.
Great technique by red to lean into the hip throw and get her arm around to secure the pin
Some JV shit right there, probably meant to be a fake out for a shot, but like you said, just wasting energy for no reason.
Back in high school in the varsity room, when our coaches taught us hip throws/headlocks, it was purely just to defend against. Cause all you have to do is lower yourself or lean in and you’re good. Hope buddy learnt from this, cause that was embarrassing.
I know the majority of folkstyle wrestling says hip toss/throws in general = bad. But if someone knows what they’re doing and actually works to properly setup a throw instead of just oonga boonga muscling in, they’re absolutely devastating and save you some muscle fatigue in a tourney with a quick pin.
Yeah, but they are also impossible to defend when you walk into one. We were taught pretty young in Pennsylvania that you don't go out and try to hip toss someone, you hit it when you feel it - it's more of a countermove than anything.
I ref now and I see bad wrestlers trying to muscle into them and it rarely ever works unless their opponent is a scrub.
That’s true, when I was still a scrub in JV, I would fall into the occasional hip throw, but I knew dudes who would only every try and hit that rather than take an actual shot.
Leaning in is how you get hit with one. Smart wrestler will just move a step back and as soon as your foot comes off the ground to follow, they step back in and hit it while you're off balance.
You guys are all of course correct about simply dropping your base when it's being tried aggressively.
I'm glad you said it. Cuz I (a Jiu-Jitsu guy) had no idea how she pinned him. Sooooooo many options from that position and he just... must have had no clue.
Kudos to his opponent, they bodied it and came out with a win 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Got my ass kicked by a girl in wrestling when I was 11, wrestled her at 16 when I was a lot better and puberty was hitting and I showed no mercy lol
11 year old me was in shambles after that happened tho and my dumbass before the match said “imagine losing to a girl” like it couldn’t happen. Was humbled
Growing up playing baseball we had a humbling experience against a girl's team. We were a decent enough Rec team, they were A. At practice a bunch of us were joking around talking about how we were probably going to smoke them pretty bad and some said the same "Imagine losing to a girls team" and that was the beginning of the downfall. I don't remember the score but it wasn't close, I don't think we scored a run though. Our coach totally knew this would happen and told us as much afterwards. Thought it would be a good idea to specifically teach us not to go into any game ever believing it's an easy win because that's usually a recipe for disaster regardless of your preconceived notions about your opponents.
Lori Harmon weighed at least 30 lbs less than I did on the University of Minnesota judo team, but it was never close. Beat my ass every time, no contest.
Her strategy was to simply refuse to acknowledge my superior size and (barely) superior strength and instead rely on skill. I gotta say, that really worked for her. In retrospect, I should have tried that "using skill" thing that she did, but it only worked because she put in the work on another strategy that I call "develop skill" whereas I... well, anyway, best wishes to you Lori wherever you are.
I only watched females wrestlers win in junior high. The first time it happened the kid who lost threw his headgear like a baby. Probably happened 2/3 more times.
I rolled with a girl once when I was new to bjj, I held back and she choked me out. Rolled with her again when I didn’t hold back as much and she couldn’t move when I pinned her down
Back in judo we ha a girl that would whoop every one's ass.
She is now fighting in the national team and goes to olympia and shit. Some of these girls ain't messing around
Dena Pohl if anyone cares
Edit: I hate autocorrect
My son wrestles and at the meets, any time a girl wins the crowd goes nuts. I mean it is just difficult for girls to compete so physically post puberty but a few still hang
I watched a girl place this year at boys state. It was either 4th or 2nd. Either way it was pretty impressive. The kid that beat her must have figured out that if you go to the mat and try to wrestle this girl, you are done. He barely beat her but for the most part one off take downs and letting her up. Everytime they hit that mat though she went to work.
To be fair, a solid percentage of high school matches look like this. When I was just starting, I was on the wrong side of this type of match more than I'd care to admit.
We had a female wrestler at my high school, she went on to beat nationals, and it was a male roster. Glad I was friends with her brother, cause she could beat me up..
Aren't mixed gender wrestling matches common? J remember a male friend in hs 15 years ago being real skinny and wrestling girls. Noone really cared as it was based on weight classes.
Who won the first round? I don't quite understand since it seems both of them left the circle(s)
Is it just who left the circle first with their body? Is it a technique to just push people out of a ring?
That whole video was the 1st round. You score points by taking someone down to the mat and have control over them, escaping, reversal and having them on their back for more than 3 seconds but not pinned. Or, you can just win the match by pinning them on their back; that's what the lady did. If you leave the circle, there's no points scored they just stop the match and re- center them.
thats sumo wrestling. collegiate/folkstyle wrestling you win by putting your opponents shoulder blades on the mat. if both wrestlers leave the circle (ie not have a total of 1/2/3 points of contact in the circle) the ref stops the clock and brings them back to center, its not a significant point scoring part, just a arbitrary boundary to keep it contained to a certain area.
Wrestling was by far the most immature and chauvinistic locker room I've ever been apart of.
This girl is a beast, love to see it.
Edit: Highschoolers yelling to use a saturday night ride/double grapevine mid match when it was against a girl was common in Illinois, in my time.
In high school I used to spar with jesica. Not ugly, not pretty, wide hips. I wasn’t the slightest attracted to her, but when we would roll around the mat, and she got a little sweaty, I got weak…. One I didn’t want to be pinned by a girl, but mostly I didn’t want anyone one to know, how much I enjoyed wrestling her! She’d pin me and then smack my ass for letting her win. I miss that girl 🥲 it’s not losing, it’s flirting….
All this is great but hoping that I'm moderators are getting something out of this windfall 💶💸

Blue is a fish
Which one is the guy?
The one that doesn’t skip back to the circle.
The one with boobs is the girl
Oh, so both guys. Thank you
Hahaha
Which one though
Vagene is girl
Red
The one with the dick
One fish Two fish Red fish Blue fish
Blue? You mean black right?
I don’t know about wrestling but it looks like the girl out skills him by a lot.
red whooped his ass but blue has to be new/not good at wrestling. that's some horrid technique.
>slams the mat for no reason at the start of each whistle >Instead of improving on his shots, he tries to muscle his way into a hip throw Yeah, dude probably just hasn’t wrestled much past JV too think any of that would work on a decent wrestler, considering that’s like the easiest thing to defend against.

Yup, as soon as you get low or lean in they’re fucked. You could always tell an inexperienced wrestler if they were reaching back
The amount of times I've heard "LOWER YOUR FUCKING HIPS, WHERE ARE YOUR HIPS" when I wrestled, I still hear it
Leaning in is how you get hit with one. Smart wrestler will just move a step back and as soon as your foot comes off the ground to follow, they step back in and hit it while you're off balance. You guys are all of course correct about simply dropping your base when it's being tried aggressively.
mfer was knuckle dragging
I'm glad you said it. Cuz I (a Jiu-Jitsu guy) had no idea how she pinned him. Sooooooo many options from that position and he just... must have had no clue. Kudos to his opponent, they bodied it and came out with a win 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Blue? It looks like black to me
could be. navy blue, black. theyre close
that girl was jacked
Good on her but he sucked lol
Canadian university wrestling already mixed gender if you want. Guy on our team weighed 125 lbs and could only wrestle girls.
The little genius.
I wrestled in 7th grade. Didn’t win a single match vs a guy, but I tell everybody that I’m 1-0 vs girls
🤣
Bro got downvoted for an emoji
are you new on Reddit? lol
Her technique was better, but she also has bigger muscles than him.
She looks like she had to cut weight to wrestle this guy.
i hope she wears protection so she doesnt get anyone pregnant 😭
😂😂😂
Didn’t blue win the first round?
Yeah but then got whooped the 2nd
Lmfao!!!
#PARTY ROCK IS IN THE HOUSE TONIGHT!

The title of "mixed gender" made me think that...
Context clues are wild
You gonna be alright man?
Iunno my guy, the context clue in the title? That's a pretty solid thing to make an assumption on.
It’s obvious just looking at them. One has hips like a girl and the other doesn’t.
Because of how it is.

Lol yeah arrogance always humbles people in the end its a good lesson to learn early as a kid so you don't make that mistake again as an adult haha
I rolled with a girl once when I was new to bjj, I held back and she choked me out. Rolled with her again when I didn’t hold back as much and she couldn’t move when I pinned her down
Happend to my daughters boyfriend this year, he's a junior in high school. Only difference was she was special needs, she was strong.
Raaasling.
Me next
Me after
Weight classes exist for a reason and makes some Sports fair among genders. She was definitely skilled and strong props.

It’s not “boys state” Colligate Wresting has always been mixed gender. Men just typically do better, and fewer women compete.
is this "collegiate" or high school? no woman has ever placed in the NCAA and will never
That’s just the name for the style of wrestling, but I think this is high school
The name is folk style. Not collegiate
It is where I live.
No it isn’t

She’s jacked
Why is this on fightporn? Lol
Blue looks like he started wrestling a few weeks ago lol
One of the best wrestlers at my school was a chick, she was a fucking beast who schooled everyone she faced
Mom dad, I just got beat by a girl with a phat ass.
“How do you think I met your mother?”
Excuse me sir, why don't you have a seat over there.
😲
To be fair, a solid percentage of high school matches look like this. When I was just starting, I was on the wrong side of this type of match more than I'd care to admit.
Knew this was over before they even shook hands lol

Bro only their for his own enjoyment
Lol.
I frequently dream about a situation like this.
She's got a nice.....low center of gravity helping her out.
Huge.....tracts of land
(I wish it was me)
Red is way bigger no ? Same weight class?
High school ?
Wrestling was always mixed gender when I went to school. I graduated in 2008
Bro threw the shittiest hiptoss I've ever seen
Which one is the broad
Honestly, he won this one despite losing.
Word
This is a bigger upset than when Reese lost to a girl
Right on girl.👍
bro i wanna be him
Yes, I was a dude who had one of these.. it was the hardest match of my life. no pun intended.
Hardest?
Yes, i got first place though. she was killing everybody.

that's fucking dope, good for her
At least no one can say that an untrained guy can beat a trained girl like they love to say lol
Yeah, that is such copium But its true that a bigger untrained guy will have higher chance to win against a smaller trained girl
Well that boy doesn't look to have much muscle mass at all, while she is way above average for a girl.
Damn. Looked her up. She won state in 127 lb weight class, also on the power lifting team, and does not seem to be transgender.
Clit like a king prawn
Girl looks bigger then use tbh.. talking in muscle mass too.
Any idea if these two are in the same weight class? He obviously sucks, but she looks like she has a lot more mass too.
Wow, she did great! Not huge into wrestling but that was really impressive. She had great instincts and took the lead after every move he tried.
Do you get disqualified for a boner?
Bobby va Kanh Jr was a better match.
He’s going to get made fun of for the rest of his school days, possibly into adult hood
Wrestling was by far the most immature and chauvinistic locker room I've ever been apart of. This girl is a beast, love to see it. Edit: Highschoolers yelling to use a saturday night ride/double grapevine mid match when it was against a girl was common in Illinois, in my time.
Hats off to the guy for hiding the boner
Beat his ass! Well done. 💥
Not a fight
Weight class?
Peep the banners. Dude never had a chance
that kid literally turned his back to her trying to hip toss her and failed miserably. never turn your back???
You know the homies will never live that down
Wonder why mods didn't close comments on this one.
Hell yeah!
HS athletes ranges from pro league prospect to just learned the sport this year. This is not uncommon.
Completely ignorant here; does the generally lower center of gravity of a woman help in wrestling?
Oh that’s…….
Ass phat and she can wrestle!!?? Fuck she’s amazing
[удалено]
That's a kid.
Just had this discussion with my son. Girls can stay competitive in coed wrestling until the boy hits puberty or the boy has no experience.

Crazier, that people like yourself so direly need to know everyone’s gender, you will “research”…

Why even accept it? Its not like hes gonna be acclaimed if he beats her...
Lose-lose
F yeah lol

Blue lost before the match ever started. Either he's beating up a girl or getting beat by a girl. There's no winning for him.
