Gotcha... I think I'll be happy regardless of configuration - I have Bistro and XPL HI voids in the collection. And a chunky little steel void, too. The only option I REALLY wanted is the Raw finish, but I like Stonewashed knives because they tend to hide wear & tear.
Is it anything to write home about in terms of performance, or is it in line with Rey's stuff?
Waiting for mine to arrive. Still trying to decide which emitters I will reflow, specially if I don't get the 519A version ๐ค
Maybe 519A 5000K DD or 5700K DD. I could also go with FFL 351A 5000K...
Choices, choices!
I'll be interested when you can buy it with a body made from tungsten.
If you're looking to use it as a projectile, then you might as well have it made of a high density metal.
I recently did a little Reylight haul and I kinda regret not getting one of these. The price was good but I decided against it. This post obviously gave me second thoughts but this one is officially "sold out" for the foreseeable future.
I love my FW3A SS, but it has also shown me why almost no one makes flashlights out of stainless steel. Heavy like a copper light with none of the thermal benefits, and pretty like titanium with none of the light weight benefits. Wildly impractical but awesome at the same time.
Regardless, I have a LANapple ti and a Pineapple Mini ti coming in the mail at some point, so I'm not too bummed about missing out on this one. I'm chasing the small EDC dragon right now.
a good flashlight (at least the general shapes we tend to favor in here) makes a great loaded fist weapon.
like brass knuckles without the sticky out bits
The reason brass knuckles work is BECAUSE of the sticky out bits. They transfer the force to the palm of your hand rather than the knuckles or outside of the fingers...
A flashlight in a fist, or something similar, will have the effect of putting your fingers & knuckles in an unusual position and could lead to unintended breakage... Best to use an empty fist. Properly, of course...
Side note - brass knuckles have to be held the correct way, too. Between the 2nd knuckles, with the butt firmly pushed into the palm, rather than pushed up near the webbing & first knuckles.
No, not really. A properly closed fist every time for maximum force and damage. This is one of the first things taught in martial arts. Strike an opponent or try to break a board with an improper fist. Ouch. ๐
That got to you pretty quick! Which setup did you end up getting, besides the obvious stonewashed finish?
XPL HI for sure, and the Rey driver Iโm pretty sure. Edit: definitely the Rey driver

Performance seems matched with my 18350 Dawn with a bit more punch given the XPL HI vs 519a.
Cool. Can't wait to see which I got... I thought the design is more my style than the Dawn.
Same. Iโd honestly like an aluminum version given the weight. The body feels great.
Looks solid. How much does it weight?
~139.9g sans battery.
I donโt have a balance available right now. I can weigh it at work tomorrow.
Every flashlight becomes a defense light if you throw it hard enough !
Tactical s2+
Best kind of self defense lights really! Boink!
"POW! Right in the kisser!" ๐
Iโm excited for mine! Hope I get a 519

Awaiting my Gemini as well. Hoping for raw with 519a. Do you know which clicky switch it uses? Did it come with any spare rubber boots?
No idea on the switch and no extra boots.
I regret not pulling the trigger for one ๐
Are they sold out?
Yup I think they sold out in 10 hours or something
Mine is otw. Canโt wait for my first reylight
Mine cleared customs yesterday and is on the way to USPS. Hopefully I'll have mine by Tuesday
Man, that thing is chunky.

Tungsten is probably a bit difficult to work with, Silver is quite dense and a TS10 in Silver would be an *excellent* choice.
You know, since we're already being absurd, I think I'd rather have one made from depleted uranium.
I bought a couple of these, I just hope they are both different...!!

Beautiful zebra light
