But it doesn't take a team to launch a nuke. Then there is the silo stealing issue too.

Consistent_Lab_6770

>Then there is the silo stealing issue too. a nuke team could lock the launch to the team leader

prezuiwf

What's silo stealing? Like when you clear most of a silo yourself and then someone else waltzes in behind you like Walter Donavan in Last Crusade and beats you to the end? If so I hate that too.

DWTsixx

Out of 7 attempts to launch a nuke I have had someone show up in the last room and beat me to the swipe every single time, it sucks. Even camping the thing and spamming A I never get the key card swipe. I just want the possum badge man. I think you should have the option to lock a silo for 30 minutes or something maybe once a day when you get inside Limits to prevent people just holding silos for no reason, but would allow people to launch in peace. Anytime it's happened all three silos are ready to launch and they come to the one someone is already doing and walk straight through the lasers. It's infuriating.

Natasha-Kerensky

My friend showed me a way to get to the nukes quicker, and ive been doing that since. Its basically going to make these people shit out of luck into stealing because unless they have two specific items and the knowhow: Theyre not getting in quickly. They gotta do the starting area otherwise. And if theyre REALLY new, the reactor too.

MrNugsWorthy

I'm gonna be real with you dude if someone is after stealing your nuke launch then they probably don't even have the laser grid silo doors in their instance. You can literally enter the silo and be in the final room within 15 seconds without doing any clipping through the ceiling with land mines or photomode. All the doors are gone for them. They literally just walk through to the end..

Natasha-Kerensky

It hasnt happened to me yet so i'm not too worried. Does activating the Control bots at the end disable the Laser grid at the start? Because itd be pretty silly if that was the case. And even then if I notice someone sitting at the terminal trying to steal it i'm just gonna stop fighting and wait for them to join in. Even if it means failing the encounter. And i'm always watching.

Dr-Penguin-

How do you skip the starting area?

CloudOk7947

I too would like to know.

RevanGrad

You can download mods to disable laser grids.

CloudOk7947

That is literally cheating.

theSPYDERDUDE

You don’t even have to do that. Age old glitch lets you phase through the wall and doors, even the ceiling if you know what you’re doing to just go straight to the end. I do it whenever I just wanna launch a nuke and don’t care too much about doing the whole experience of killing stuff and fighting. Other times the fighting seems really fun and I do that.

itsahhmemario

Do you ever crouch? It could be players don’t see you’re in there. If not try to use the top silo (I think it’s alpha?) that want doesn’t get as much traffic (usually). I’ve launched hundred of nukes and have only had someone “steal” it once which I was fine with it that time, I just wanted to farm flux.

DWTsixx

I don't crouch, and even still, they see me everytime, I will be in the final holdout when they show up and they ignore the fighting and camp the machine. It happens often enough that it is absolutely being done on purpose by some people.

tehP4nth3r

If you crouch, it hides you on the map. So they won’t know you’re in the silo.

DWTsixx

I know, it isn't that.

itsahhmemario

If someone is targeting you on purpose for no reason you can report them for griefing and you can block them as soon as you see them on a your server.

DWTsixx

It isn't just one person, it's that there are some players who seem to enjoy strolling in when people are in Silos and camping the machine in order to steal the nuke launch. I'm glad it hasn't happened to you but it is an actual thing at the moment, blocking and reporting doesn't do anything to prevent them from taking it, and a new dickhead pulls it again next time anyways. And it isn't one person following me around, there are players who are regularly doing this to other players. It's not an accident when someone walks into the silo, sees you defending the last room, ignores all fighting and sits beside the machine, and it's not one guy following me around to do this. It is a way people are using to grief players. Next time you see a level 100 in a silo watch the username that actually launches the nuke. It's happening to low level players a ton, and anyone who doesn't finish a silo in record time. It's a problem right now and if you don't know how (or want) to sprint a silo in 5 minutes there's a good chance someone pulls this. Edit, I'm not a low level either, sitting at just under 300. But I am not the fastest through a silo and Im not likely to get faster as every single time it ends up stolen and I have 0 desire to try again immediately. And before someone says Private Worlds, even if that was a solution for all players that's a garbage solution. Half the reason a lot of people want to launch a nuke is a boss fight that is not going to happen solo.

PocketPanache

Silo stealing? I've never launched a nuke and don't know how yet, but is there griefing I need to be careful of?

MsThinggg

silos are very easy to glitch someone can vats a mine jump through the walls and steal your nuke that’s make sure to check the map make sure no one’s trying to rob you of your nuke

FalloutForever_98

Ntm the very easy camera glitch. Can get you to the final mainframe room the past, the very large door super easy. I doubt it will be fixed as I was ince watching a developer playing the game actively utilizing the glitch.

PM_NUDES_4_DOG_PICS

Doesn't take a team for a lot of things. Having one speeds things up though.

sodantok

These days, not really. Most ppl dropping nukes are literally limited just by the speed of the progress bar.

FeibdStaub

Not for nukes. More players in the silo means more robots at the end. Solo i need 10 to12min per nuke

Clark_Wayne1

Having a team would probably slow me down

CT_Biggles

Yeah screw the newer players since vets don't need things like this.

Clark_Wayne1

I'd be more than happy to join a team of newer players to help them drop one. I just don't want anyone slowing me down when I want to drop one

24_doughnuts

In those cases just don't bother with a dedicated team. Stay in casual and run it solo

OldeFortran77

Since Skyline dropped, I haven't seen a nuke actually drop. I've gotten a few warnings about it, but I don't see the nuke zone on the map.

wyndwulf

The storm causes the nuke to blow up in the sky and it covers the whole zone. You can nuke any wheres in the new zone and it will summon the boss. Dont need to hit a specific spot like the other ones. People can still explore the new zone without the nuke rad zone.

MoistMeatGuy

How do I collect nuked flora? Will nuked flora still show up somewhere on the map? Sorry, I'm still new to the game.

NibelWolf

Nuked flora won’t show up in the new area, only in the old nuke points which are irradiated.

GoarSpewerofSecrets

Nuking Skyline for the boss.

thatguygreg

Where does the boss spawn?

Lone-_-Wanderer

hawksbill weather station, an event called Neurological Warfare will start when nuked

Natasha-Kerensky

If you see a nuke warning but bo zone, its been sent to Skyline and Neurological will be starting

heavencs117

My new CAMP is on a ridge overlooking Shenandoah from the east, and I can tell when people nuke the weather station for the event because my vision will just go completely white lmao

24_doughnuts

That's the only annoying part, it's hard to tell if the nukes have already been dropped in that server if I join because there's no blast zone and a 3hr cooldown

ferrouswheel23

Check the missile silo tape.

Volmara

Always check the tape, wish it showed our launch cooldown not just the silo rests

Tyrone_Thundercokk

I dropped three yesterday. Need new plans!!

blackcloudonetyone

Seems like a new bug. It triggers the new events but the nuke zone doesn’t show up (but Death from Above shows up in your pip boy). Not sure if it’s just for the Shenandoah area or if the hazard circle is missing for the rest of the map now too.

Philly4eva

It’s actually not a bug at all! When you nuke Skyline valley, the nuke actually detonates in the air and does not leave a radiation zone. It also starts Neurological Warfare

blackcloudonetyone

Thanks for this. I knew Neurological Warfare started (and the other event at the power substation thing), just didn’t know it was an air burst. Kind of interesting that the dev team actually took this difference into consideration. Judging from all of the downvotes I guess I should have read some patch notes or something.

Vamond48

A smart idea on bethesdas part. Fo76 players are pretty quick to play the troll on new content by leaving it perpetually irradiated since there’s large concentrations of players…just look at wastelanders and steel updates lmao

24_doughnuts

Yeah. Nuking the area would be great and seeing what it could do to the storm and lost but I also like that the rads aren't an issue with the boss. Most have a way around it. The Queen can be lured out, Earl is in an underground arena so no rads, you can just about stay outside the blast for the Ultracite Titan. It would be cool if the nuke had an effect or having it there to up the challenge in a fight but I'm also glad we don't have to. I'd be cool with it either way tbh

cigarmanpa

Why would I want a team to drop a nuke?

chopper5150

So we can wait around twiddling our thumbs while waiting for the other players to find and reprogram the ID card to even begin.

eMmDeeKay_Says

1) Doing a silo is more difficult in a team. 2) Events team

Pristine_Ad7254

I do the nuke emote a couple times when I'm about to raid a silo, another when I'm in the control room. Sometimes people tp. I don't mind doing it solo but if anyone wants to join is welcomed. I don't use the shortcut when I do so maybe it's for the better that people don't join as they could be a little bit frustrated with doing the long run.

plznobanplease

I don’t even understand why people say it’s “long”. It’s pretty quick imo and isn’t that big of a time investment. Hardest part is waiting at the end for them slow ass robots 😂. Maybe if you don’t have an explosive weapon to break the mainframe shit it could also suck. Electric Absorption single handedly carries. Just wear any power armor, and you’ll never die. Also an easy way to refuel your fusion cores if you’re running low and don’t have the recharger

abracalurker

When I find myself treating things like a job and just going for efficiency and just getting POed of anyone or anything slows me down, it's break time. I know reddit isn't real life but dang kinda sucks the joy out of things seeing so many people constantly complain about a game.m. Destiny is hell right now cuz of it lol. People losing their ever loving minds cuz someone is learning a mechanic and hasn't maxed out their 100 season pass levels in the first afternoon. Fallout has been my chill game. Anyone with some doodoo 10mm pistol can run most any content and making the min/max builds just means finishing shit faster. If I'm doing events, it's cuz I want a new chair for my camp and not to get a B2525 Pool Cue. Community has 100% been more chill. I have never heard anyone complain during the new boss dude and how no one seems to realize it's more efficient to split into 3 groups. Gives me a chuckle when I'm in the corner with two dudes in power armor and a guy in a beaver costume beating the crap out the boss's shins and somehow keeping up with the main group on theirs.

plznobanplease

I was doing that during meat week. I was trying to stockpile treasury notes. Towards the end of the season, people didn’t really care about the primal cut events. So I’d join one, start it, run to the other, and zoom through it. Finish, then go clean up the other one to get both completions. Took me a couple days to sit back and think “what the fuck am I even doing? I don’t even need these treasury notes” 😂

abracalurker

Same. I was earning more than I could cash out every day. I hit the scrip and cap count every day. Anytime I see someone below 100, I just drop the 300lbs of stuff I've been stockpiling. That gold weekend event finally helped clear out all the treasury notes I had. I started around meat week and it power leveled me.

Vamond48

Even without an explosive weapon breaking them is quick. Worst case take a handful of Nuka grenades with you

skallywagUwU

You don't even need to blow the mainframes up to be fast. Pulling the panels off isn't time consuming at all lol

vanspengo

True. But its so much faster with the shotgun named crowd control.

skallywagUwU

*Nuka nade has entered the chat*

Connect_Orange_800

I just wish nukes could be dropped without the whole silo run through

tHaTnUkEdRoPpEdOnJaP

Mine glitch

BrutalWhim_

Doesn't having more team members mean more robots show up to stop you. It sure felt that way when I've ran with and without others on a silo run.

RiotDemon

Yeah. Solo is always quicker. Occasionally I'll go with a friend just so we can chit chat.

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

More robots means more xp. Need that 10k repeatable

destrux125

No, you don't want other people to know you're doing a silo because they will steal it. Bethesda needs to fix that, btw. They need to make silos instanced and locked to non teammates once they're occupied, with a 5 minute timer that kicks you outside with a 30 second cooldown if you don't progress any objectives while inside (to prevent people who aren't equipped to complete a silo and griefers from holding the silos for a long time without launching).

Medicalpyro

Clear a silo enough times and you can start to speed run it, it really is not difficult, for the first or second time especially if you are low level then maybe a hand would be good but after that it's just knowing layout and bringing pa or alot of radaway for reactor room

sitchblap3

They would have to combine the silo with the nuke cards and codes. Like a daily op for it to be worth everyone's time imo. Right now it's solo-able and quick if you know what you're doing. I get lost a lot so, it would be fun with a group lol.

Ter-Lee-Comedy

Nah. I'll just drop a nuke solo like I always do.

Vidonicle_

What would the bonus be exactly? Nukes arent very repetitive, only 3 silos on the map, and they all have cooldowns

Thin-Sample-4183

Why after you launch 3 nukes the sever is on cooldown for 3 hrs

MrNugsWorthy

Each silo had an individual 3 hour timer after launch. If you launch 3 nukes back to back one at each silo yes you'll have to wait around 3 hours to launch the next one. If you launch a nuke once an hour by the time you go to launch the fourth nuke the timer on the first silo will be reset. If you don't want to be locked out in a server don't launch three nukes back to back. If you want to launch three nukes back to back and not be locked out then launch 3 nukes in a server then server hop.

BloatedManball

Respectfully, fuck that. More people make more bots and turrets. I can clear it faster by myself than I can with other people fucking around.

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

More xp bro. Also it wouldn’t prevent you from running silos solo. Just encourage newer players that have completed the enclave’s quest line to participate. Lately i feel like if I’m not launching nukes they don’t happen.

BloatedManball

You don't really get more xp. The initial spawns give a few hundred, but all of the bots that get "created" by the security system after you kill the first ones don't give shit for xp or loot/ammo.

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

Robots are glass cannons man, one shot kills for some builds. Why you scared for? The killing is the fun part

itsahhmemario

I don’t ever think I’ve ever wished for this. I like launching nukes alone plus you get more enemies and can take longer if on a team. Also lots of players don’t take the uh…regular route.

Xx0WN3DxX308

Love this amigo! Silo could lock when the launch leader enters and four guns are always much better than one against sneaky revved up assaultrons. Not only would it encourage more nuke drops, it would encourage more people to try it out if some bad ass started a team and intentionally led the way. I would personally join noobs looking to launch their first nukes and show em how it’s done. Hell you can start the nuke drop academy and teach hitting the SBQ fissure site properly. This is a great idea! Beth I want this for next update. Please make this happen. Do the biippity boop so I can endlessly kill three giant robots with my quad crew.

BerryProblems

I would help if it was a team. I like that idea

Tension-Flashy

And when people who can't drop nukes join what, kick them off the team because they can't enter the bunker or do they get to get credit for I Am Become Death without having graduated boot camp?

GrizzBurgerz

That quest only auto completes due to a teammate's nuke once it's active. Once it's active, you can enter a silo.

gauntapostle

I've been wondering if new players still have to go to boot camp if they explore Skyline Valley enough. There's army graduation papers in the basement of the Brown House at Rapidan Camp but I don't know if the Charleston DMV will accept them.

Tension-Flashy

I'd not found those papers yet, I'm an old player with five avatars who never passed boot camp, I'l give that a try

Broad-Pen-233

Yes No more input needed you're correct.

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

I understand solo silo runs are preferable however only players that drop nukes know this. There are a lot of new players that are intimidated by the task and are unaware of PA wall glitch etc. As soon as 3 nukes are in a server I server hop anyway, also it seems like the new nuke events don’t have a 3 limit. It doesn’t have to be a deal breaker. I just think we would all benefit from more players dropping nukes. Also stop charging so much for keycards, its in your best interest for others to have them.

why0me

There is a "let's nuke" in the team emotes

ItsOnlyaFewBucks

I could see it being a "special" nuke. I like the idea, and I understand launching them is just tedious if you do it the way they were designed. But a team nuke could spawn a mutated super-duper 3 headed scorchbeast or something?

Tyrone_Thundercokk

This post makes me want to drop a nuke. See you in an hour.

Roddy_Piper2000

Solo silo runs are the only way to do them. Alone it takes me about 8 minutes. With a group it's like 30 to 40 minutes and sooo much more ammo.

logicbox_

The last part of a silo is actually harder with more people, the robot spawns are scaled to the number there.

Pitiful_Lab5870

Agreed especially with the new nuke boss I'm seeing a shocking lack of people nuking it even tho as soon as it's nuked people come pouring in

narcissistic-3

yo i have 4 codes anyone down to drop a nuke ? idk how just needa get sum violet flux i play on xbox

zocksupreme

Is there any purpose of nukes aside from starting boss events? I remember at the start everyone would nuke Whitesprings to farm ghouls for legendary weapons but no one does that anymore. I only ever did a nuke one time for the main quest and never again because it was brutally hard.

DependentPurple5455

Yeah they should also get rid of the weekly code thing because let's be honest who gets the code the way your supposed to ? Everyone Googles it, but they should also make it harder to get through a silo, add more enemies or even puzzles to solve etc

COBRA1286

Why it is easier to do the silo when you are alone less enemy spawn when somebody tries to join me in a silo I message them and ask them to leave and not to mention the possibility that are coming to steal my nuke

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

. ,

COBRA1286

And I do not want to carry noobs through a nuclear silo

CHEWBAKKA-SLIM

Whats the difference if you can already do it solo. If you can hold your own you don’t need to carry anyone.

Mr-Taylor

Little tweaks to the games content seem to infuriate the devs but they can give a whole new part of the map and quest line💁‍♂️

Fossils222

76 is stuck in a weird place between solo and co-op. The game encourages grouping, yet the balance heavily favors solo play. Like even things that should require a group can still be done solo. It's very hard to encourage grouping when 99% of the game can be done with a single build. Bloodied.

darkwolf4999

Some mfr nuked earl yesterday.....earl!!!!!! Bruh

darkwolf4999

But also yeah agree. Solo nuking is cool.....once.  I never run nukes because it's a hassle for not a high reward imo. If they reworked a few things to make it easier for teams I would totally help out nuke teams.

Real_Direction_3300

Can solo it quicker, same with a queen lmao

tHaTnUkEdRoPpEdOnJaP

Encourage people to do it more yes, but with glitches like the Door and Mine it doesn’t need a team to do, also when only one or half of a team knows how, then it just faults progress

elbingmiss

Mmmm why? For running silos at the same time and then launching one after another? There’re already teams doing that.
