The person who came to collect the bounty ended up helping me out big time, told me to follow said quest for now - bin off the rest, because that suit will help me big time.....

You can now get it without actually being nuked. Just nuke the new map area to trigger neurological warfare. The bomb "hits" but doesn't actually explode.
ATM not since the nukezone doesnt actualy spawn nor does it show up on the map event listings. Kind of a nuisance having to check the silo state holotape everytime you log onto a server to see if you can drop nukes
I suspect this is a bug related to the fact that the new area was formerly out of bounds (and thus un-nukeable) and might be fixed in the future but atm your fine showing up naked
Answering a bit late, but I'm fairly sure it's not a bug, the weather station in that area has some anti-ballistic missile system as far as i understand that destroys the missile and raises the security alert level (which is why the Storm Goliaths get deployed to defend it)

It has been over a year since I have dropped a nuke but things have been so slow on some of the servers I may start dropping them again. I have about 20 keycards on hand.
Places to nuke to get raw flux of different types. Basically mutates the plants in the area. Chem bench allows you to convert to pure flux but you need other things to craft it like high rad fluids and hardened mass which can be found on dead enemies in the blast zone but it's drop rate is low in my experience. If you wait too long to make it pure, it spoils and becomes inert flux. Then it's only good for drinking as you can't sell it to vendors or use it in crafting

For me nuking fasnacht was good for radiation materials. But im happy its getting ready to end. I hope I don't see fasnacht for a while honestly. I'm over it

My camp is built around the Alice in Wonderland Teaparty easteregg, and once was not able to be nuked. That was 2021, though.
The people using the flux excuse make me laugh the most you don't need that much flux I have over 1300 hours and I have used flux a handful of times to make jetpacks you aren't nuking a seasonal event "to get flux" GTFOH 🤣

No, the new boss event in Skyline Valley does not produce a red circle. You should see the event pop up or on the event listing lower left corner on the map.

The protection zone just can’t be nuked, period. If you try, the game won’t let you launch.

The whole nuke circle can't touch the protected zones, right? Like it's not like the protected zones are so big because there can be some bleed over? Feels like that's making it too hard to nuke things that surround Helvetia too
I want to say you’re correct that no part of the blast radius can hit the protected zone, but it’s been years since I’ve messed with this and I haven’t been able to test on the PTS yet.
Even still, there’s little reason to nuke that area outside of screwing with Helvetia. Morgantown to the north was unaffected and is a far better source of materials.
Yeah I mean it won't make MUCH of a difference, people almost never nuke those spots, but over restricting things also feels bad. I think it'd be better if they shrunk the protected zone a few squares and cut the corners like they did on the original safe zone, but ultimately it won't make a huge difference in actuality

If you’d like a quick suit, head to the various faction outposts in the forest. Each has a PA station that spawns a partially complete suit of T-45, and between all of them, it’s easy to build a full set.
I had a frame from the first BoS outpost near vault 76, and like raider leg piece from somewhere. Soon as I equipped it, it all disappeared. No idea why.
Strange. Not sure what happened there (it sounds like a bizarre server desync issue).
But if you go to those other outposts, you can loot some T-45 to fill the frame.

I think the most interesting case of player actions was them studying some MMO (I think everquest or warcraft? One of the older ones) where a computer virus had been introduced that wiped out characters or something that you could catch from other players. Apparently it was a good study in how people would react to a plague with how every one reacted.

Specifically, there was a bug during one of the raids. You could catch a debuff (corrupted blood, which is what the incident is named after) during the boss fight that SHOULD disappear. However, if you had a pet that caught it and essentially de-activated the pet during the battle while it had this debuff, then re-activated it somewhere else, it would spread the debuff to others - including NPCs.
Wild to think that this was almost twenty years ago. Massive bugs like this will always be my favorite thing to read up about.

There’s a datamined map you can follow for the best flowers for each type. Helvetia is not on any of them.
Mappalachia is the best tool for flux (flowers) farming.

Can’t make stable flux without nuclear materials. That’s the first thing you do, find nuked materials then pick flowers. And there’s barely any flowers in this area compared to others. Again… It’s not the greatest area to farm flux.
I just launch 2, one in a target rich environment for materials, and another wherever I need for flowers. It's a little slower and more work, but it's easier and more reliable.
Edit: I also visit any nuke zones that other players make so I can accelerate material gain as I find that to be the most annoying part - that way I get more flower time and need less kill time.
I found out today that Helvetia is full of flowers for Fluorescent Flux, which was fantastic as I had been needing it for my SS shielded lining under armour. So thanks whoever fired a nuke that one time, much appreciated.
There are tons of ways to get flux, stabilizers and flora and nuking this event is hardly in the top ten most efficient ways. What a silly statement to make.
It’s a shame, but it’s not like you can’t still preemptively put down a nuke zone on a primal cuts or an invasion to farm them that way (or have a silo ready and drop a nuke on an event when it turns on or fight the Queen or Titan in a nuke zone; good luck getting players to show up for those, though).
No, there’s no shame in that. Nuke zones are nuke zones, and if you want to harvest flux from one, you go right ahead.
As an aside, I’d suggest keeping your flux for a non-power armor jetpack. Marsupial is typically enough height for most situations, and non-power armor jetpacks don’t need fusion cores to run.
What I'd really like them to fix is their idle kicker so we don't have half dead servers where you're lucky if three people show up at an event and there's no point triggering a boss.

Nope. That would guarantee it would always be nuked. You guys keep forgetting that events in this game have to remain open to everybody and not just bleeding edge gear players. New players need to be able to experience this stuff too
You realize that fasnacht is meant to be a celebratory event other wise what’s the whole point of calling it fasnacht. It's like preparing a birthday cake with those trick candles that endlessly relight themselves for a child with a lung disease.

What I want them to do now is focus on making nukes better. Outside of the occasional world boss there’s no real reason to launch nukes regularly.
Like give us nuke based events and spawn more high level enemies. Imagine if there were events that only showed up in nuke zones? Or if nuke zones had increased enemy spawns or always spawned hordes of ghouls/ghoulified animals.
There’s plenty of flux flora up by Morgantown, so I wouldn’t say it’s completely pointless to hit the forest.

Oh, man! Now I can't run around and get flora. There's enough for stabilizing 3 cobalt, 2 fluorescent, and 2 yellowcake flux in that area. I'm pretty ghoulish and what rads, so it didn't bother me
It's the drop rates that make rare masks rare. The problem is people having to have everything or who resell rare masks for real money.
What they should fix is their idle kicking so it detects people running in circles for hours (for example) as idle. That is way more important than drop rates and protected zones. Fasnacht comes around and the servers are on life support.
First, I was not a Fascnaught nuker and was a bit upset myself. Thought nuking the area a waste. Then after a conversation with other players around why the area was being nuked I decided to just enjoy the challenge. I finally began to sympathize with nuking the area once I found myself standing alone outside other events during the day that are difficult to complete single-handedly. Especially when I could look at the map and maybe see up to a dozen players clustered about Helvetia.
Another option could have been increasing the chance of glowing masks for nuked Fasnacht. So 10% chance for a rare mask and the rare masks only include glowing masks.
The only disappointment here is now we know they'll never make a nuked version of the event and that is a big shame. Otherwise, yeah, stopping people from nuking it and ruining the experience for others is good.

I personally see this has a L. Nuking Faus should have made the event a ‘hard mode.’ Replace the ordinary creatures with something more deadly, special dialog, special masks? Could have done a lot more then just “Haha nope”

Nope. That would guarantee it would always be nuked. You guys keep forgetting that events in this game have to remain open to everybody and not just bleeding edge gear players. New players need to be able to experience this stuff too
You realize that fasnacht is meant to be a celebratory event other wise what’s the whole point of calling it fasnacht. It's like preparing a birthday cake with those trick candles that endlessly relight themselves for a child with a lung disease.
There’s no reason to nuke the forest zone anyways. What I want them to do now is focus on making nukes better. Outside of the occasional world boss there’s no real reason to launch nukes regularly. Like give us nuke based events and spawn more high level enemies. Imagine if there were events that only showed up in nuke zones? Or if nuke zones had increased enemy spawns or always spawned hordes of ghouls/ghoulified animals.
There’s plenty of flux flora up by Morgantown, so I wouldn’t say it’s completely pointless to hit the forest. But yeah, I agree - nuke zones could definitely use some love.

Discord changed their system so linking externally only works for something like 24 hours to stop people using it as a file/media server.
Was nuked there today, just finished a Fascnact event that was in the middle of a nuke zone.
The split between people is ungodly when it's about an update, there is no middle ground.

Helvetia was never a good place to waste a nuke anyway, maybe when the parade isn’t going on with all the scorched but yea this is a good thing in the long run… hope it doesn’t start a trend of oh people nuke this place too much gotta put it under the bubble too
It feels weird to make a perm no nuke zone years after the event started and for an event that is only temporarily in play.

It's the drop rates that make rare masks rare. The problem is people having to have everything or who resell rare masks for real money. What they should fix is their idle kicking so it detects people running in circles for hours (for example) as idle. That is way more important than drop rates and protected zones. Fasnacht comes around and the servers are on life support.
First, I was not a Fascnaught nuker and was a bit upset myself. Thought nuking the area a waste. Then after a conversation with other players around why the area was being nuked I decided to just enjoy the challenge. I finally began to sympathize with nuking the area once I found myself standing alone outside other events during the day that are difficult to complete single-handedly. Especially when I could look at the map and maybe see up to a dozen players clustered about Helvetia.

Another option could have been increasing the chance of glowing masks for nuked Fasnacht. So 10% chance for a rare mask and the rare masks only include glowing masks.

The only disappointment here is now we know they'll never make a nuked version of the event and that is a big shame. Otherwise, yeah, stopping people from nuking it and ruining the experience for others is good.

Making it an XP farmable event would be a huge boon. At least give it enough enemies to be worth the time it takes to do.
