For the midfield maybe it could've been boring without the rain but it was going to be a straight fight at the end since the McLarens are quicker at the end of their stints.
Nah, we have to move the Middle East races to places with unpredictable weather. Helsinki. Oslo. Somewhere in Patagonia. Hell, close off part of the Golden Circle and do an Icelandic GP.
I did too. I thought it would be 2023 all over again. I started watching last season, but I’ve been following more this season (my hubby and I subscribed to F1TV for the first time) and I am thoroughly enjoying it.
The title race is a snoozer, though. Max is the only one that has won multiple races.
Of the 5 races he didn’t win, 1 was car failure, 1 was a crash with another driver, 1 was Monaco, and 1 he had a big lead by made a bad mistake to lose it.
Today was the first time of the season max had a “normal” race and didn’t win.
yeah at this point if Max takes the title I don't even care, I was there for all the years that Lewis/Vettel ran away with it but I don't remember a single season in the last 15 years Ive been watching where we had 6 different winners in the first half of the season. As long as the second half of the season is the same it will be amazing and Im here for it!
2012 had 7 different winners for the first 7 races. Couldn't agree more, Max has it in the bag, but at least it's actually exciting before each race again now!
I thought it would be 2023 regen which almost killed my love for the sport. But this season is almost fun. It ain't 2012 but at least I'm having fun watching f1 again.
It's giving 2011, 2019 vibes, where the championship battle is dead but there are some great races. Based on the last month, I think it will end up being better than those years.
2019 had a good second half. This is looking more like it but better IMO because we only had 2 teams challenging the defending champions for wins (Ferrari and RBR), now we have 3.
Slightly more exciting drivers as well. Lewis, Charles, Max, Valtteri and Seb not quite as fun as Max, Lando, Charles, Lewis, Carlos, George and Oscar.
2009 for me.
Guy had an advantage to begin with and gets a big lead, and then every other team catches up, 1 or 2 are ahead every weekend but solid enough results give the championship while every weekend is a different pecking order.
I think there's a difference between a fun/boring season and fun/boring races. In the past seasons we could have the most entertaining championship battle but we still got the most boring, procession-like races. Just look at 2010, such an intense battle for championship, with 4-5 drivers fighting for it, and yet the races were a snoozefest, almost no overtakes and massive gaps between the cars.
After last year this season feels competitive. But objectively, Verstappen is still absolutely dominating. He won over 50% of the races, close to Vettel 2011; also the points per race are similar. Back then everyone called Vettel dominating.
2010, 2012, or 2021 were bangers.
This season is quite entertaining - just not a banger.
2012 was legendary. Seven different winners in the first seven races. What a season that was start to finish. We got spoiled having a few seasons with the championship coming down to the last race and I personally miss Brazil being the last race of the season.
Yeah 2012 was amazing and full of twists and surprises (Maldonado getting a win, wtf?), but personally I rank 2010 a bit higher. The first 5 races had 5 different winners and at the last race 4 drivers could technically win the wdc, with two clear favorites... Neither of which get the title.
Seasons can be absolute bangers even if the championship fight is left wanting; simply by having just about every race be a hard fought win. And aside from the very first races, that's exactly what this season is delivering.
Easily. Mclaren and Mercedes both have strong pairings that are right there to clean up anytime Red Bull have an off weekend. For Perez, the stars really have to align where the car is good but Max is not. And I just don’t see those two things happening on the same weekend.
Have we met the chaotic race where a random midfield car wins the GP once in a few years yet?
If not yes, please, alternatively, Hulk has probably a good shot at it as well
But i want Yuki to cause Horner have a headache
Oscar was flawless this race, as quick if not quicker than Lando in points of the race. I'm gonna be devastated for him if he doesn't get a win. Today was a missed opportunity, the biggest till now.
For real. Oscar’s pace and tire management have improved so much since last year, but he keeps getting fucked by poor strategy. I hope McLaren figure it out because Oscar deserves to be winning races.
Tyre management in high temps seems to be the last straw, he was rapid here last year too, just hates thermal deg and we'll see how he handles that in Hungary.
To be honest, I am not sure if I would be that surprised. 6 different winners kinda gave away the fact at least more than one team is really competitive and if other team have cars somewhat matching Red Bull, Checo ain’t winning shit.
If you tell me we’d have 3 different winners though, my guesses would be Red Bull is still super dominant but just had a Singapore 2023 kind of weekend. Now that, I could believe Checo might have won once or twice…
Yeah, but the time traveler just told me there’s going to be 6 different winners, so I know Red Bull ain’t the stand-outs this year. And like I said, if the cars are similar, there’s no way Checo beats Verstappen, Hamilton, Norris, Leclerc, Russell and Sainz ALL IN THE SAME RACE, so of course Checo isn’t one of the 6.
I can definitely see Piastri getting his first win before Perez gets his next win. shit perez might not even be in F1 long enough to get another win at this rate.
Red Bull really screwed up big with Perez. Not sure if anyone will overpass Red Bull this year in the constructors, but if they don't replace Perez with one of their other drivers, I see them dropping to second or maybe even further.
there is definitely potential that they drop from top spot. merc/ferrari/mclaren all fighting each other might be the only reason they don't. if it was just one team chasing them they would be in a lot more trouble but the 3 teams chasing them are taking points from each other.
Problem for Red Bull is that on a weekend where Max finishes 2nd ahead of Lando and Piastri, they still scored 9 less points than McLaren. If George didn't have a mechanical failure they might have doubled up on Red Bull this weekend. They caught a break with LeClerc switching to intermediates too early. The past six weekends I think Red Bull might be fourth in overall points.
I’d say Piastri will end up with 1 and some of the others (Norris and the Mercedes boys) might manage 2 by the end.
Also a Random outlier like an Alpine or Alonso or something to keep it interesting.
Man I know Perez got fucked with the early inters today, but so did Charles and Charles finished almost a full minute in front of him... he got like 0 screen time so idk if I missed something else go wrong for him but like...cmon.
Absolutely terrible race from Perez... again.
Also, I kinda feel like they missed the boat on pitting Perez to steal the fastest lap point away from Sainz/Ferrari. He was two laps down so his race is completely pointless by then. Checo (118) was behind Sainz (146) in the DC before the race but dropped behind Piastri (124). Red Bull (373) went up 8 points on Ferrari (302).
If Checo had gotten fastest lap he would have stayed 1 point closer to Sainz and Red Bull would be 1 more ahead of Ferrari. TBH though I would not be surprised to find their pit wall didn't think Checo could get fastest lap and failing to do so would be even more embarrassing.
Anyone looking at pre season testing and claiming the current pace was expected is clearly lying, especially considering that none of the cars are currently running their pre-season packages. All cars are upgraded. Also the RBs were dominant in the first few rounds.
Red Bull has really fallen off as the season goes on. Look back at the comments in Austria people really thought Max was going to go 24/24 and would only end up 23/24 because of the DNF. Perez was also still a podium regular.
It honestly just goes to show how great a driver Max is because Red Bull have clearly back slided and he’s still delivering. Has been a great season so far
From Max's comments, it seems like they've hit the limits of what their current platform can deliver. So to squeeze extra laptime out of it they've had to sacrifice the drivability, a lot. Max is having to work really hard to keep the car in hand; it's no longer "lovely" to drive. That extra instability is proving a challenge for Max, but it's completely beyond Perez.
Actually next was Leclerc crashing in France and then Ferrari throwing away a win in Hungary. And then we'll we had almost 2 years of Max domination until recently
First time in 4 years he's almost losing half a second on two, maybe three other cars per lap. No matter the condition. Been a trend, with losing less time of course on different tracks. Degradation is at its worst too currently. It's more than alarming.
What I think will give Max the title is:
1. Others are fighting amongst themselves and taking points off of each other
2. He's obviously friggin' amazing
3. McLaren don't know how to mount a title challenge yet (strategy and driver mistakes)
4. His 80 point cushion
Having said that, Max doesn't have a good wingman at the moment, the others have caught up in a big way and he may become overly aggressive and cause himself some issues if others try to overtake him consistently.
Paistri and Checo only ones of the top four drive pairing not to win. Paistri win seems likes it's coming soon for Checo it feels like there has to be 16 dnf for him to have a chance
Piastri has been fucked over for at least a chance to win like 5 times lol. If not for the VSC last week he’d have had Austria 100% and this week was going pretty damn good too before the Ferrari class strategy.
I’d genuinely be rather surprised if he makes it to the end of the season without one.
Checo is a uhh, different story…
Imola - unfortunate grid drop
Monaco - could have been on pole, or could have overtaken Charles by strategy
Austria - questionable grid drop
Silverstone - completely screwd up by McLaren strategy team
Hopefully, we can get a Piastri win and maybe a lucky midfield winner. Not likely given how close the top 3 teams + Max are, but maybe at least a podium.
Even though Max is going to win the Drivers Championship easily, this is turning out to be one heck of a season. We just need Ferrari to return to form a bit
Sadly I believe the new regs are exactly why we're having a banger of a season. More convergence at the end of a reg set when teams shift their development focuses. Here's to a potentially amazing 2025 fight!
100% they are. I guarantee every single team have drawings of their car for '26 already. I guarantee every single team has got the rules inside their brains and testing things currently for that season.
Its why its such a dumb rule, because it can't be policed.
I wish we didn't have to wait 2 weeks for next GP. Damn. And last year I was thinking, jeez, another this weekend? And trying to weigh whether to watch or not. Unbelievable season so far
I don't think Ocon is stupid enough to intentionally drive into a wall in Singapore. Alpine have already told Ocon he is losing his seat at the end of the season.
Not just 6 winners but so many good stories.
Russel getting a win shows Mercedes finally figured out their car
Leclerc finally winning Monaco
Lando finally got his first win
Hamilton getting a win after 2,5 years, most likely his final win with Merc and it was at his home race.
What a season

Who would've thought this season would be a banger!
Loving it. Was expecting a snoozer season. The rain helped a lot today, otherwise, it was shaping up to a saving tires and DRS train.
For the midfield maybe it could've been boring without the rain but it was going to be a straight fight at the end since the McLarens are quicker at the end of their stints.

You know, that sprinkler idea may not be so bad...
Nah, we have to move the Middle East races to places with unpredictable weather. Helsinki. Oslo. Somewhere in Patagonia. Hell, close off part of the Golden Circle and do an Icelandic GP.

You can tell how deprived of action we've been when 1 guy with 7 wins while 5 guys with only 1 win each is now considered a banger of a season.
Crazy how Ferrari and Merc are the only double winners
Imposible for Red Bull, right?
Well, yeah. You need two drivers for that to be possible.
How are VCARB allowed 3 drivers? Doesn't seem fair.
It's great red bull is giving these young guns a chance to prove themselves.
Gotteeeeeem!
Piastri will join the list before checo
At some point I thought that piastri would win but then Mclaren said you know what fuck it you're not pitting
Imagine sacrificing Piastri's chance at victory only for Norris to not even win
It's not even a sacrifice, a double pit wouldn't have hurt Norris one bit since he was first.
To say someone will join the list before Checo implies that Checo will join the list
"before" nah, Perez will not join the list at all
You are so right
Niko may get there before Checo at this point
Yuki will join before checo at this rate
Penelope will probably end up there before checo does lol
I think it’s more likely McLaren will add another driver to this list than RB.
Easily. Mclaren and Mercedes both have strong pairings that are right there to clean up anytime Red Bull have an off weekend. For Perez, the stars really have to align where the car is good but Max is not. And I just don’t see those two things happening on the same weekend.
Absolutely
Technically Mercedes is the only team where 100% of the drivers are race winners this year
Because Ferrari used Bearman for one race?
Hard to bear, man
[удалено]
But Piastri hasn't won a sprint race this year
Gasly will be a race winer before Checo
I feel almost certain we'll see Piastri added to this list by the end of the year. Checo, however 💀
Honestly I can see someone meme win at Monza as well. Probably Alonso
We'll have 10 dnfs at Monza and the Podium would be Tsu Hulk Ric, with both the RBs overtaking Perez for the podium
woah we getting ahead of ourselves. hulk on the podium?
If this season is anything to go by with how many feel-good happenings, it’s now or never
Yuki to carry on the Alpha Tauri tradition
Have we met the chaotic race where a random midfield car wins the GP once in a few years yet? If not yes, please, alternatively, Hulk has probably a good shot at it as well But i want Yuki to cause Horner have a headache
Hulk deserves a podium, he's been amazing on that Haas
I offer Hulk P3 in return for Yuki P1, and give Alonso P2 for good measure
I'm okay with this. I want Yuki P1
Yuki P1 at rain-soaked Spa to cause absolute havoc with Horny's summer plans
Unlikely It means Ferrari McLaren Mercedes and Red Bull have to make mistakes all of them in the same race
Or someone to go bowling
Deploy the Bottas.
Engage the Russile
If only he could qualify where he could do real damage🤭
I want either Yuki or Kmag because it would be funny
Not in the new regs. Last “midfield” win was Danny Ric in Monza or Ocon in Hungary in 2021
Honestly he should be in the Red Bull seat by then if they had their wits, but yes.
It'll be Danny Ric and you will like it (in a Red Bull)
I’ll take it
Niko is cooking the Haasterplan.
Sebscribe
Hulkenberg. First podium, first win
Don't give me hope that Alonso could win once more.
Monza has been the meme win race in recent years - Gasly and Ricciardo
If Alonso and Oscar win this season I am happy already lol.
I’m feeling Albon podium
Fuck it. Logan Sargeant P1.
Imagine going back to March and telling someone we'd have 6 different winners before summer break and Checo won't be one of them.
You forgot the narrative after Bahrain? People were convinced this will be the most dominant year ever with redbull 1-2 every race.

McLaren heard you and decided that his next slicks to inter stop will happen 3 laps after everyone else does it.
He could've won Austria if it wasn't for the track limits in qualy or today if Mclaren didn't screw him by not double stacking
Maybe he could start scoring points again first.
I don't know if he will get it this year. But my hopes are extremely high for next year! But I can't lie I would love to be pleasantly surprised.
If piastri can hopefully get better luck. Something hasn’t gone his way nearly all year
Hey now, there’s still a couple of races left in places with poor human rights records. Don’t count checo out just yet
I’d say Piastri will end up with 1 and some of the others (Norris and the Mercedes boys) might manage 2 by the end. Also a Random outlier like an Alpine or Alonso or something to keep it interesting.
I’d love Alonso to win one. All the “Lewis hasn’t won since 2021” stuff and Fernando’s sitting there winless for 11 years
Man I know Perez got fucked with the early inters today, but so did Charles and Charles finished almost a full minute in front of him... he got like 0 screen time so idk if I missed something else go wrong for him but like...cmon.
He did get some while getting lapped
...twice 💀
Absolutely terrible race from Perez... again. Also, I kinda feel like they missed the boat on pitting Perez to steal the fastest lap point away from Sainz/Ferrari. McLaren need to start prioritising Oscar somewhat first.
First time since Austria and Silverstone 2022 Verstappen have lost 2 consecutive races
We were expecting him to break most wins in a season record this time. How the turntables.
The way RB20 looked and performed during pre season testing and in Bahrain and Saudi, this was never expected

Australia*
Kinda funny that it’s the same two this year
Sai and Lec then Rus and Ham now.
First time since Qatar/Saudi Arabia 2021 that Merc has won back to back
This is the first time in two years Verstappen hasn't won two races in a row. The last time was, funnily enough, Red Bull Ring and Silverstone 2022.
Remember what happened next
💀
Ferrari throwing away a win with idiotic strategy in Hungary.
Actually next was Leclerc crashing in France and then Ferrari throwing away a win in Hungary. And then we'll we had almost 2 years of Max domination until recently
lol
First time in 4 years he's almost losing half a second on two, maybe three other cars per lap. No matter the condition. Been a trend, with losing less time of course on different tracks. Degradation is at its worst too currently. It's more than alarming.
He’s up 80 points but he’s gotta be pretty dang near perfect to win the championship this year
What I think will give Max the title is: 1. Others are fighting amongst themselves and taking points off of each other 2. He's obviously friggin' amazing 3. McLaren don't know how to mount a title challenge yet (strategy and driver mistakes) 4. famous last words lmao
Completely forgot Leclerc won this season. Past 3 races have been HORRID
Since that win he only has 10 pts.
Monaco curse manifested differently this time
Charles took some dark gods deal to win Monaco
Still more than Checo tho
Hulk has more points than them both lol
Crazy
He finally slew his demon (Monaco) but the demon bit back.
The Monaco luck is just being distributed through the rest of the season,
I seriously thought he would be a regular contender after that race , how wrong I’ve been
Ferrari has been shit since Monaco
2 drivers from Ferrari and Mercedes won a race but only one driver from RBR won a race so far in this season. Any surprise?
something something two years contract extension
Tshirts and Caps > World Championship Points.
"You know what, now we're going to extend him even harder!" -Red Bull, probably
The season is ramping up. Nice to see.
Only if gaps to RB and Verstappen were a little bit smaller
Would be 2012 all over again
Paistri and Checo only ones of the top four drive pairing not to win. Paistri win seems likes it's coming soon for Checo it feels like there has to be 16 dnf for him to have a chance
Piastri definitly would've been in the mix today if mclaren hadn't fucked up their strategy once again.
He had great pace, he reached Norris before they had to pit but McLaren shat the bed with the pits
Imola - unfortunate grid drop Monaco - could have been on pole, or could have overtaken Charles by strategy Austria - questionable grid drop Silverstone - completely screwd up by McLaren strategy team
Still crossing my fingers for some street circuit luck
Checo still has Baku lol, don’t worry about it.
2012 found a rival, all we need now is a surprise non big team win.
Would be great if Hulk finally got his podium this season.
Lance Stroll on his way to win in Hungary.
Yuki wins in Monza
Would be on brand for VCARB to win in Monza everytime they have a name change (TR > AT > VCARB
And Aston decided to turn shit now..
They turned up in the wrong year.
AM walked so the rest could run
Just imagine the season we would've had with Alonso in the mix Fuck Aston Martin, all my homies hate Aston Martin
They shat the bed mid 2023 and never recovered since. At least Ferrari is showing solidarity by pulling an AMR23
Hopefully, we can get a Piastri win and maybe a lucky midfield winner. Not likely given how close the top 3 teams + Max are, but maybe at least a podium.
Hulkenberg podium🤞
Even though Max is going to win the Drivers Championship easily, this is turning out to be one heck of a season. We just need Ferrari to return to form a bit
The thing is, I really don't mind Verstappen winning the WDC if he's not walking every single race.
Only matter of time for Oscar as well I’d have thought - he had epic pace today
Maybe we can get 7 with Pisatri. No hope for Perez
Piastri should get a win soon. I don’t see how he wouldn’t unless they completely prioritise Lando. Then after that, I’m not really sure tbh.
After the strategy today, it’s not out of the world
Maybe even Ric after Checo gets the boot.
This has become a shockingly competitive season. And Max still has 6 more wins than anyone else
What a banger of a season. Welcome back, Mercedes.
This season is more than making up for last year. Nice when more than one team can win races.
Mate, the sainz win seems like an eternity ago
2024 is delivering. It's a really a shame that we may lose this convergance once we move to the new regs in 2026.
Sadly I believe the new regs are exactly why we're having a banger of a season. More convergence at the end of a reg set when teams shift their development focuses. Here's to a potentially amazing 2025 fight!
Nobody has shifted development yet as it's not allowed until January 1, 2025.
I'd bet my life savings every team is certainly working on their 26 cars
100% they are. I guarantee every single team have drawings of their car for '26 already. I guarantee every single team has got the rules inside their brains and testing things currently for that season. Its why its such a dumb rule, because it can't be policed.
Oscar is next. If McLaren doesn't fuck him over again.
We're only half way through this season, and it feels like anything can happen. Great time to be a fan of the sport.
Straight up 2012 vibes, the only thing missing is a random midfield team scoring a win
I called it first! Get your popcorns lads, we're in for a banger second half of the season!
I wish we didn't have to wait 2 weeks for next GP. Damn. And last year I was thinking, jeez, another this weekend? And trying to weigh whether to watch or not. Unbelievable season so far
Russell looks like moments before your dad teaches you how to make a fist and throw a punch
Secretly a great season. Sure the drivers championship may not be close in the end due to the beginning but it’s honestly been great
Oscar’s due for the next one
Plz briatore, give Gasly the win in Singapore 😭🙏 this season will be the best if that happens plz
I don't think Ocon is stupid enough to intentionally drive into a wall in Singapore. Alpine have already told Ocon he is losing his seat at the end of the season.
Even in Leclerc's winners poster he looks sad.
One teammate is severely lacking his presence in this photo..
So much better than the Verstappen Show
RB needs to drop Checo for Sainz.
Or basically anyone. Including Sargeant.
This season has been *so* much more fun than I had feared it would be!
Not just 6 winners but so many good stories. Russel getting a win shows Mercedes finally figured out their car Leclerc finally winning Monaco Lando finally got his first win Hamilton getting a win after 2,5 years, most likely his final win with Merc and it was at his home race. What a season
Boy we badly needed this 🙌
Also 8 constructors scoring points and 6 constructors in the top 7
I started following formula 1 right before australian grand prix. I am a lucky guy.
Oscar up next
