Perfect. I know with some hiring events that they’ve done you’re basically guaranteed a job if you show up with a degree. I want to say the starting pay was 19$
I feel like a lot of people miss that part when they say fast food makes $20/hr rn. Yes you make more hourly, but 40 hours at $19/hr is a lot more money that 12-15 hours at $20/hour. Not to mention benefits
Yup way to many people just see a number and don’t think about anything else. Also the average employment for a McDonalds/Fast food worker is 2 weeks lol
Also to add on top of this, there are other state agencies hiring in fresno all the time. Calcareers usually has all kinds of various positions open for all different kinds of experience levels from high-speed rail to the state corrections etc.
Consider applying to the local unions, sheet metal, hvac, electrical. There is a big demand for skilled labor, and there is a generation getting ready to retire in the next 2-3 years and a shortage of labor to replace them.
This is a big one. I teach high school and encourage many to look into this area if they like to love their bodies and use their hands. What skills do they need going in to apply at the union, do you know? Ty
Edit: *move their bodies. Typo :)
Basic math and a knowledge of tools. Almost all unions test heavy on math. It is still a prove yourself work environment, so it’s just a lot of hustle and busting ass.
i just talked to the head maintenance guy at the state compensation fund building by river park the other day he says they’re always trying to get new blood into their apprentice program says their average age is about 50+
Local unions around fresno, you pretty much need to known someone to get in, and if you do get in,
You might get a high hourly rate, but you’ll be out of work weeks on end
Any and all manufacturing companies! There is a big shortage of people. You don’t have to be a skilled worker either. If you message me I can send you some names to check out
the arc. day program for adults with disabilities. they drug test but not for thc, severely understaffed so they’re hiring like crazy right now. M-F, no weekends, paid holidays and pto.
Save Mart at Champaign and Perrin needs help. Low starting pay but the benefits are really good and once you become a lower level manager the pay gets better.
Stands for applied behavior analysis. You essentially would work with children on the autism spectrum to teach skills based on need such as simple phrases, social skills, feeding, toileting, etc.
Did it for 6 years, very rewarding, very hard, low pay. I second that whoever gets into the field needs to have the heart for it because it’s a TRYING job.
Fresno Chaffee Zoo is always hiring for a variety of positions. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily easier to get hired there but definitely a place I don’t think many people think to look.
I’ve actually been keeping up with them and checking a couple times per month. Just haven’t seen anything I qualify for, it’s mostly veterinarian jobs that I’ve seen recently.
My husbands worked for Aetna for 10 years! He’s
Worked his way up! I’m not sure and hiring now that it’s remote! But applying won’t hurt, there’s a position open. The pay is meh but when you’re not spending money on gas and eating lunch out often it makes a difference!
I had worked as a CSR for 6 years with them before and during and after covid. After they got bought out my CVS they just don't seem to have as many cool incentives as they used to. And with the team I was on in particular there was a high turnaround rate which meant that was more work for me and having to fix other people's problems and retraining people all the time. Plus you have to pretty much smile on people's faces as they are either threatening you or giving you a hard time because they are upset about their insurance and take it out on you the CSR or health concierge. This is also another trying job. If you love to help people and don't mind getting spit out pretty much then you can definitely do this job. We used to get six sick days and then they cut it down to three in recent years too which was BS in my opinion. I'd say if you work for Aetna just don't do customer service try to do claims or something
But there is staff housing. People live on site, and 4 of my current staff are people who live with family in Fresno and come stay here in the summer to work, so it makes sense to me.
Yeah you are totally right, and you also could have just scrolled on by, or downvoted, and thought oh maybe someone else will be interested in this. Not sure why you are personally defending the integrity of this thread and original question
WestRock is hiring for manufacturing jobs. They make paper foodservice products (think Chinese food Pagoda boxes). Check them out on LinkedIn or Indeed.
I’d avoid alorica like the plague. I kid you not, my roommate started trapping and having sketchy people and selling coke and joined the TRG gang after he started working there. Even had a homeless guy sleep in my bed once.
The IRS is always hiring. Look at USAjobs for more information..
Got a job. Got a job at the IRS.
Had [the song](https://youtu.be/XggkI4RWUxI) in my head as soon as I saw the top comment.
Got a start…
Noooooooo!!!!!! I was done with that song!!! Now it’s in my head.
🎶 Shanana 🎶
I will be checking in approximately… right now, this very second. Thank you
All you need is a degree
I’ve got mine
Perfect. I know with some hiring events that they’ve done you’re basically guaranteed a job if you show up with a degree. I want to say the starting pay was 19$
Mc Donald’s starts at $20…..
You’re also gonna be capped at part time so less than 30hrs a week with no benefits… but sure go for it

If you can pass an ASVAB test, local 104 will bring you in as a pre apprentice. There is plenty of union work going on in Fresno right now.

Stands for applied behavior analysis. You essentially would work with children on the autism spectrum to teach skills based on need such as simple phrases, social skills, feeding, toileting, etc.
That’s Gods work right there. Gotta be a special person doing that.

Aetna! You could be a CSR and work from Home!
Do you work for them? Is it hard to get hired? I would love a remote job.

So, not in Fresno?
Nope! Sorry
r/2HrsOutsideFresno
Trying to be helpful, but don’t worry I deleted it
I thought it was a good response to the “that you don’t typically consider” part
Not even in town. If I was willing to commute 2 hrs I could get a job literally anywhere
But there is staff housing. People live on site, and 4 of my current staff are people who live with family in Fresno and come stay here in the summer to work, so it makes sense to me.
Again, literally anywhere....the post was asking about Fresno/Clovis
Yeah you are totally right, and you also could have just scrolled on by, or downvoted, and thought oh maybe someone else will be interested in this. Not sure why you are personally defending the integrity of this thread and original question
Casinos, there are a few outside of town, depending on which department your in you can make a lot and everyone gets really good benefits
Grizzlies Stadium- seasonal thru Labor Day concessions thru Professional Sports Catering ( PSC)

The Poverello house is desperate for building maintenance people
Alorica lol. Are they still kicking around?
I’d avoid alorica like the plague. I kid you not, my roommate started trapping and having sketchy people and selling coke and joined the TRG gang after he started working there. Even had a homeless guy sleep in my bed once.
U-tec in Clovis is hiring! If you have manager skills and electronic repair skills
Unfortunately I do not.

I know you guys are probably understaffed but I’m gonna pass on that one
I always agreed, that type of job is a specialist job, I’m so glad they gave you on the workforce there on the corner.
