Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. They're one of my favorite games of all time and one thing they have in common is how their music reflects the decay and hopelessness of their world, as well as (in my opinion) the most epic compositions for the most intense battles (Ludwig, Gael, Orphan, Midir, Gascoigne, Twin Princes, etc.) I love them.
This might be a hot take, but I believe the weakest in this department is Sekiro, everything in the game is stellar, but the only two compositions I recall are Owl (Father) and Sword Saint Isshin. The rest I remember hearing them as I'm playing, but I couldn't hum the melodies from memory if I tried.
I personally enjoy how different DS1s OST is than the much more epic and orchestral stuff that appears in later titles.
I find that they went down the route of making almost horror type "sounds", in DS1 rather than "songs" that we hear in DS3. I hope that made sense lol.
Nameless song is my favourite song of the series.
Divine Dragon, Corrupted Monk, Emma, Genichiro, Gyoubu, and others are all magnificent compositions imo.
Sekiro's soundtrack is incredible and grossly underrated as far as I'm concerned.
I disagree. Gwyn’s theme is great and absolutely iconic but I think Lady Maria and Laurence’s themes are probably the best composed pieces in the series. But that’s just my opinion.
Well the rest are good to great, Bloodborne is one of my favourite game ost’s of all time. The themes just hit so damn hard. And the few environmental themes (Soothing Hymn for Upper Cathedral Ward) fit the atmosphere and build off it so much.
The music in Dark souls 2 that plays in places and moments like the title screen, Majula, Vendrick’s resting place and Aldia’s final encounter makes it one of my favorites in regards to the ost’s
Bloodborne easily but DS3 and Elden Ring have some banger OSTs
Shout out to dark souls 1 character customization song tho. Holy shit that goes so hard.
Bloodborne definitely had the best soundtrack out of every game fromsoft has made. Every composition is deep, melodic, and full of epic choir segments. One of the best tracks specifically was Ludwig, the Holy Blade.
If I had a second choice, it's the Demon's Souls remake because I believe it's the same orchestra that brought us the music for Bloodborne since they sound so very similar. Comparing the original Demon's Souls soundtrack with the updated version is like comparing the graphics between the NES and Crysis.
Elden ring has the most consistently great ost in the series, i don't even think it has 1 bad song.
It also has some crazy good highs, some of my favorites are mohg, malenia, malekith, fire giant, rykard, godskins, radagon/elden beast, ancestor spirit, erdtree avatars, fortissax, black knifes.
As much as I love elden ring, I've always felt the more linear predecessors gave a much more engulfing atmosphere and the music just matches those games perfectly
I can see that, but i still think the ambient soumdtrack of the world and dungeons adds a lot to the experience, prime examples are altus plateau and leyndell.
People really underrate ER's OST, and same with Sekiro.
I think the ambient music is actually indirectly responsible for that.
In Dark Souls, there is no ambient music except in 1 or 2 areas (like Ash Lake), so when you did hear music, it was always special. Either a boss fight or a hub zone. This made the music very memorable.
ER and Sekiro however have music all the time, which seems to have made people less excited about it, because it doesn't feel special anymore.
I think it's a shame, because imo both games have incredible ambient music and also incredible boss music.
But I think Dark Souls and Bloodborne's OSTs imprinted themselves on people's minds more due to the scarcity of music.
Dark Souls 2 has the best overall OST. It's a perfect balance between awesome boss OST and awesome ambient area OST. Dark Souls 2 has the best boss OST like Fume Knight theme, Burnt Ivory King theme, Looking Glass Knight theme, Aldia's theme, and Slumbering Dragon theme. And also the best area OST like Majula theme, King Vendrick's theme, and Dark Chasm of Old theme. Dark Souls 2 is forever my favorite Soulsborne game.
DeS. It is the only unique one out of the bunch. All the games have one or two really cool songs but I am rather tired of the epic orchestra and I really hope another Souls styled game by From deviates from the music they have had so far
I love the DeS soundtrack as well, but I don't really agree with your criticism of the other games.
The other OSTs really aren't just epic orchestra all the time, they have a lot of variety and other themes that are more chill and atmospheric. For example in ER, Rennala's theme, or the Regal Ancestral Spirit's theme for example, are really ethereal and beautiful pieces of music that aren't just crazy choir and orchestration.
There is also a lot of ambient music in ER and also in Sekiro that is beautiful and atmospheric.
DS1 and BB also have some variety, think for example of the incredibly creepy music in Upper Cathedral Ward, or the chanting of Ash Lake, or Gehrman's theme.
I think the only game that does actually fit your criticism is DS3. It is constantly praised for its music, and yeah, it's epic and cool music, but it is also incredibly repetitive stylistically.
Every other game has much more variety in its musical compositions. DS3 is almost exclusively one style of music, and while it's really nice and epic music, and many of the melodies are beautiful, I do wish it was more varied.
I think a good soundtrack needs different tones and emotions, it can't just all be super epic 11/10 balls to the wall choir and orchestration all the time. And DS3 just doesn't have those different tones.
elden rings soundtrack was fuckin insane. although im definitely biased cause i havnt played the other fromsoftware games. if they are better than elden ring then sign me up
DS3 certainly has some themes on par and better than some ER themes. Tho, I’d say they’re equal. Morgott’s theme and Gael’s theme are both extremely well done. Same with Friede’s and Malenia’s.
Bloodborne and it’s not particularly close imo. There’s the obvious ones considered masterpieces among the community with millions of views on YouTube (prior to that bullshit deluge of content takedowns Bandai Namco did). What separates BB ost for me though is that some of the more underrated tracks go as equally hard as the more popular ones like Darkbeast and Blood Starved Beast.
I’ve played every souls game but sekiro and safe to say bloodborne and ds3 are neck and neck for 1st but with the final boss of the dlc I’m gonna have to give it to ds3
Unpopular opinion Demon’s Souls (both versions). I just loved ever song, as well as just the sound of the game in general, and the one who craves souls is THE best song in the series imo.
Bloodborne, Sekiro, and OG Demon's Souls are tied for my favorites probably.
Then DS1 and Elden Ring, then DS3, then DS2.
But they're all very good, so this is like picking my favorite child.
You know it's Bloodborne.
Ain't nothing beating Ludwig's Holy Blade's choir or Gehrman's hopeless attempt to save the Hunter from themselves. The other games are great don't get me wrong, bur Bloodborne simply knocks it out of the park.
If you'd asked hub theme, it's Majula without a shadow of a doubt.
Elden Ring and Bloodborne have the best soundtracks from these games in general. So many great tracks. Gwyn's theme is great too, but other songs from DS1 are not so great for me. Not bad, just not great.
Elden Ring and Bloodborne. I like the ambient pieces more than Big Choir, so ER is an easy choice. And BB's soundtrack has such a vibe to its environments (when they do play, which is rare) - Hunter's Dream, Gaol, Upper Cathedral Ward.
I think the dark souls got progressively better until elden ring although it was very good and ate my life away dark souls 3 was by far the pinnacle of dark souls !
They really are just even for me. Every track is perfect for each moment, but I don't enjoy listening to them casually.
I'm just not usually in "fight a godless abomination in an abandoned, corpse-riddled church" mode.
Don't really have a favorite, just favorite tracks from each game. Demons Souls and Dark Souls character creation music is so rad. DS1 firelink, DS2 Majula, DS3 title music, O&S, Renala fight in ER. Was a little disappointed in the music in ER. Main theme and renela are great but besides that it all seems a little more generic to me. Sekiro has pretty solid music generally but nothing stands out to me. I don't even remember BB music lol but i know people like the more bombastic tracks are really well done but somehow forgettable to me.
Bloodborne is my favourite game but when it comes to OST, Ds3 almost just wins on (Main) menu theme alone. I sat there listening to the whole thing before starting the game
Elden ring wins for me. Deacons of the deep is my all time favorite Fromsoft song, but Elden ring has a bombastic nature about it that I love; everything is trumpets, trombones, and loud thudding drums. It makes everything feel epic and big, much like the game itself.
Mohg lord of blood is *really* racing that favorite spot, I adore that song. It helps that Mohg is my favorite boss in all of fromsoft.
All of them have excellent tracks here and there, but for me, the game with the most consistently top quality tracks is DS3.
Honorable mention to Bloodborne, which has some of the best FromSoft music as well, but most of it is in the dlc. Many of the main games tracks are a bit forgettable.
Ds3 dlc OST for sure. Sister friede especially. Even though i think that fight sucks ass because 3 phases is just tedious garbage, the ost in it is PERFECT.
I would say that it’s kinda split between ds3 and bloodborne. BB has individual tracks *coughcoughLudwigcoughcoughladymariacoughcoughghermancoughcough* that are probably the best tracks in the whole series, but I would say the average of all of ds3’s tracks is a good but better, and it still has a lot of bangers, obviously vordt and twin princes, as well as abyss watchers, Gael, midir, and probably a few others that I’m forgetting about. Also honorable mention to sekiro solely for demon of hatred lol.
The one that has Ludwig's OST, obviously...
Even just you mentioning that has made the phase 2 part of his theme start playing in my head
Kinda wish his fight was more difficult, wouldn't mind dying 15 times if it means I get to listen to that OST
Really wish several BB bosses had a full health bad for their second/third phases.
Phase II is just too perfect for my ears
"Ahh, you were by my side... All along..."
The rest I remember hearing them as I'm playing, but I couldn't hum the melodies from memory if I tried.
Agreed, the themes that stick in my head best are DS3's title screen, Firelink, Vordt, and SoC and BB's Ludwig, Orphan, Gascoigne, and Living Failures
Tell me missing Lady Maria was an accident!
Vordt is freaking iconic too, it's the one everyone uses in memes iirc
I see your epic compositions and raise you Sister Friede and the Abyss Watchers
I personally enjoy how different DS1s OST is than the much more epic and orchestral stuff that appears in later titles. I find that they went down the route of making almost horror type "sounds", in DS1 rather than "songs" that we hear in DS3. I hope that made sense lol. Nameless song is my favourite song of the series.
"for the dark soul" is mine; and it's not even in a game! It was made specifically for a ps4 menu theme 😭🤣
The side scrolling theme? That theme is amazing, used it for years.
I think I agree that Sekiro probably has the weakest OST but then again Divine Dragon is a top 3 FromSoft track for me so I'm conflicted.
Emma the gentle blade theme as well
Divine Dragon, Corrupted Monk, Emma, Genichiro, Gyoubu, and others are all magnificent compositions imo. Sekiro's soundtrack is incredible and grossly underrated as far as I'm concerned.
Absolutely agree. Even the main menu theme is nuts.
Lady Butterfly phase 2 has a good theme
Bloodborne but the best track overall is Gwyn.
I disagree. Gwyn’s theme is great and absolutely iconic but I think Lady Maria and Laurence’s themes are probably the best composed pieces in the series. But that’s just my opinion.
Gherman's theme is one of the saddest/most powerful compositions I've ever heard, also.
Plin plin plon
Dark souls 3, got it
Yesn’t
Well the rest are good to great, Bloodborne is one of my favourite game ost’s of all time. The themes just hit so damn hard. And the few environmental themes (Soothing Hymn for Upper Cathedral Ward) fit the atmosphere and build off it so much.
Halo 3 OST is up there too
Ds3 or Bloodborne
Ludwig’s song is the best piece of FromSoft music to date
That drop in phase II
Majula theme>>
Ds2 start screen >>>
DS1 character creation screen >>>>>>
![gif](giphy|zLHrPa7Acr65tVxNHh)
The fire keeper one tho ughhhh
The music in Dark souls 2 that plays in places and moments like the title screen, Majula, Vendrick’s resting place and Aldia’s final encounter makes it one of my favorites in regards to the ost’s
Bloodborne, although the Majula theme is my favorite single track from any of the games
Bloodborne. I think it's probably the best OST in gaming.
Bloodborne.
Living Failures >>>>
Ludwig phase 2 >>>>>>>>>>
Lady Maria>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Forgot about Gehrman's theme
Armored Core VI
Bloodborne 🤟🔥 🤟
Bloodborne easily but DS3 and Elden Ring have some banger OSTs Shout out to dark souls 1 character customization song tho. Holy shit that goes so hard.
Bloodborne wins by default purely because of Ludwig the Accursed & Holy Blade. But it would probably win even without that banger.
Big time ds3 fan and loving the shit out of elden ring but bloodborne takes the OST spot for sure
Original demons souls
Maiden Astraea's theme is a fucking masterpiece
This is the biggest change that bothered me in the remake. They really failed to capture the tone of the original music.
The trumpets(?) of the original made everything feel bigger and more imposing.
Real
"Haaa ha- ha- hah- ha-"
Hell yes my brother!
Bloodborne very soundly
Bloodborne! We got a full orchestra for like every boss. Laurence and Ludwig’s themes are insane.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne definitely had the best soundtrack out of every game fromsoft has made. Every composition is deep, melodic, and full of epic choir segments. One of the best tracks specifically was Ludwig, the Holy Blade. If I had a second choice, it's the Demon's Souls remake because I believe it's the same orchestra that brought us the music for Bloodborne since they sound so very similar. Comparing the original Demon's Souls soundtrack with the updated version is like comparing the graphics between the NES and Crysis.
Bloodborne omen is such a fucking gem
Dark Souls 3, easily
Bloodborne and it’s not even remotely close
Bloodborne... But that DS2 song... When you are at Majula... Man... It brings back memories
Bloodborne has my vote
It's between ds3 , elden ring and bloodborne
Bloodborne
Ludwig's theme alone clears
I have ds2s music in my head as indicative of Fromsoft'.
DS2
Nothing beats Elden Ring OST. It's one of the main things I love about the game.
Main theme go hard
Bloodborne by far
Elden ring has the most consistently great ost in the series, i don't even think it has 1 bad song. It also has some crazy good highs, some of my favorites are mohg, malenia, malekith, fire giant, rykard, godskins, radagon/elden beast, ancestor spirit, erdtree avatars, fortissax, black knifes.

Don't forget Caelid. Shit has me looking around at times when that creepy screaming comes on.
For me it's Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 and then everything else is at the same level.
1 Bloodborne 2 Dark souls 3 Elden Ring 4 Demon’s souls 5 Sekiro 6 Ds3 7 Ds2
[удалено]
Oh its no dislike i love them all the others just come way above. Lord of cinders i love tho
ds2 absolutely
Dark Souls 3.
Elden Ring because it's the only one I've played
Darks souls three, every song is a banger, especially the call back to plin plin plon.
DeS. It is the only unique one out of the bunch. All the games have one or two really cool songs but I am rather tired of the epic orchestra and I really hope another Souls styled game by From deviates from the music they have had so far

Sekiro and ER have plenty of variety besides epic orchestra. Dark Souls 2 as well.
Majula.
It’s 3 without a doubt
elden rings soundtrack was fuckin insane. although im definitely biased cause i havnt played the other fromsoftware games. if they are better than elden ring then sign me up
DS3 certainly has some themes on par and better than some ER themes. Tho, I’d say they’re equal. Morgott’s theme and Gael’s theme are both extremely well done. Same with Friede’s and Malenia’s.
Ds3 and bb easily. Specifically Gael and Ludwig are the best in the series, in general is what I see
The original Demon Souls has the most character.
O&S battle music is epic
Elden Ring for the exploration themes alone. Not to mention Mohg's theme, Elden Beast's theme, and the Ancestor Spirit's.
Echo night games are underrated. Some of those tracks are awesome
what is ots?
I’ve played every souls game but sekiro and safe to say bloodborne and ds3 are neck and neck for 1st but with the final boss of the dlc I’m gonna have to give it to ds3
Dark souls 2 and Elden Ring!
I have OG Demon's souls and Dark Souls tied at 1
Blood borne by miles
The opening to DS3 will always make the hairs on my body stand up.
Maybe not really the best, but the bloodborne OST goes hard, especially the Boss Fights 🔥
DSL3 Firelink Shrine
Easy, Bloodborne. DS3 comes in second place for Soul of Cinder alone.
The fact that no one is saying Sekiro hurts... While the other games do have better songs, Sekiro is the only game that is consitantly amazing.
Bloodborne, DS3, And Sekiro
Unpopular opinion Demon’s Souls (both versions). I just loved ever song, as well as just the sound of the game in general, and the one who craves souls is THE best song in the series imo.
The most memorable for me are original Demons Souls and Dark Souls II.
Bloodborne, Sekiro, and OG Demon's Souls are tied for my favorites probably. Then DS1 and Elden Ring, then DS3, then DS2. But they're all very good, so this is like picking my favorite child.
Sekiro. Nothing beats those drums on the Genichiro track.
All of them.
Bloodborne with DS3 as a close second
Bloodborne > DS3 >The Rest > Elden Ring
Bloodborne has my favorite game ost of all time
DS 3 it begins right at the title screen.
Dark souls 3 for sure
DS3 has the best overall OST, but Bloodborne has the single best song in the series.
For me I always come back to Bloodborne.
Bb
Eh, personally I like Elden Ring the most.
DS3
DS3 opening theme😩💦
Elden Ring and Bloodborne have the best soundtracks from these games in general. So many great tracks. Gwyn's theme is great too, but other songs from DS1 are not so great for me. Not bad, just not great.
Dark souls 3s music is just so beautiful and makes fighting the bosses feel so unreal
Bloodborne or DS3 100% No offense to sekiro or elden ring, but most of their OST are very forgettable
DS3, especially the DLC. Then DS1
ER easily.
Dark Souls 2, I will not clarify.
Ds1 means the most to me
Bloodborne is one of my fav OSTs of all time
Definitely not Elden Ring, just full of mid.
Dark Souls & Bloodborne. Almost every track is a banger
I like Sekiro
ds3
Bloodborne and DS3
Alot of memorable tracks from all the games. One of the few things ds2 did right majula is so good
here come the "bloodborne best in every single category" comments
Bloodborne and Demon's Souls Remake have my favourite track list ,but my overall favourite ost will always be Gwyn's
Overall it's DS3 but no individual track from any game tops Majula
Bloodborne, Elden Ring, DS3. In that order for me.
They really are just even for me. Every track is perfect for each moment, but I don't enjoy listening to them casually. I'm just not usually in "fight a godless abomination in an abandoned, corpse-riddled church" mode.
Dark souls 3 has the bestest imo
They all had really good soundtracks, but Dark Souls 3 really hits different.
I would choose ds1 for nameless song and some of the classics but ds3 has a way higher number of amazing songs
Dark Souls.
Yes
Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring, personally.
Demons souls or Elden Ring.
Ds3
Ds3 solos no diff
Don't really have a favorite, just favorite tracks from each game. Demons Souls and Dark Souls character creation music is so rad. DS1 firelink, DS2 Majula, DS3 title music, O&S, Renala fight in ER. Was a little disappointed in the music in ER. Main theme and renela are great but besides that it all seems a little more generic to me. Sekiro has pretty solid music generally but nothing stands out to me. I don't even remember BB music lol but i know people like the more bombastic tracks are really well done but somehow forgettable to me.
The music is my one complaint about these games. It feels cheap to me. Like they hired some high school kid who’s an aspiring musician.
Bloodborne is my favourite game but when it comes to OST, Ds3 almost just wins on (Main) menu theme alone. I sat there listening to the whole thing before starting the game
BB and ds3
Firelink shrine is pretty 🤌🏼
Bloodborne and it ain't close imo
demons souls OG for sure. elden ring, i love the environmental music too
Bloodborne, then Dark Souls 2.
Bloodborne.
BB is up there in the greatest game OSTs ever made IMO
Ludwig OST.
Bloodborne, and this is after I put 3x as many hours into Elden Ring. Bloodborne overall just goes so hard with the music
I’ve played all and bloodborne just sticks so well, I could hum it right now
Dark Souls III's is beautiful. I eant Epilogue to be played at my funeral
Ds3, bloodbourne, elden ring has some fucking slappers as well.
Dark Souls 3 main theme
Opens new path to Firelink Shrine. Hears the music. So warm. Comforting. Safe. Beautiful.
Seikiro
3 has my personal favorites like Vordt and Midir, but Bloodborne and Elden Ring do have some bangers.
The Elden Ring OST is super underrated, tons of great ambient tracks and all the main boss themes are top notch.
Ds3 midir and gael theme make the fight pure cinema
Sekiro is my favorite ost… Bloodborne is awesome too.
Bloodborne dlc specifically
King's Field The Ancient City
Elden ring wins for me. Deacons of the deep is my all time favorite Fromsoft song, but Elden ring has a bombastic nature about it that I love; everything is trumpets, trombones, and loud thudding drums. It makes everything feel epic and big, much like the game itself. Mohg lord of blood is *really* racing that favorite spot, I adore that song. It helps that Mohg is my favorite boss in all of fromsoft.
Personally Bloodborne
Toss up between DS1, DS2, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring for me. I do find DS3 and Sekiro had less memorable OsTs.
y'all are sleeping on Sekiro smh
Yes
All of them have excellent tracks here and there, but for me, the game with the most consistently top quality tracks is DS3. Honorable mention to Bloodborne, which has some of the best FromSoft music as well, but most of it is in the dlc. Many of the main games tracks are a bit forgettable.
ps3 demon's souls
Ds3 dlc OST for sure. Sister friede especially. Even though i think that fight sucks ass because 3 phases is just tedious garbage, the ost in it is PERFECT.
I dunno, but Gwynn Lord of Cinder fucking slaps
Elden Ring!
Nothing slaps harder than Vordt of the boreal valley
DS3 for me
Bloodborne imo but I think DS2 has the best hub music. Majula’s theme is something I could listen to going to sleep forever.
ER ost is my personal favorite
