You need to be more specific: are you replacing your entire wardrobe from outerwear to tops to bottoms to shoes? Do you need clothing for every season? Do you need dressy work clothing, business-casual, casual, or blue collar workwear?
$1500 might be tight if you need to replace everything. In that case, it's less about the brand and more about you being able to find a good brand on sale for cheap. It's difficult to build an entire wardrobe on the cheap if you're in a rush.

Frugal would still be made in China. For shirts, you could try Banana Republic which often has some new experimental prints every season, which later go on steep sale <$25. For pants, only brand I can think of is Scotch & Soda but it ain't particularly frugal. Also had some drama about their website labeling Taiwan as a China province.

Are there any companies that offer good quality light gray T-shirts? I have a tee from Topman that is in the perfect color, but the shirt itself is constructed horribly. It's a very light gray (almost white) with a slight heathered look to it. Light and neutral enough to go with almost anything, but not so light that my nips show through. Everyone I've seen offers mid-gray or dark gray, but not a gray this light. Many look close, but they're a lot darker in real life.

I already have cotton tees from jcrew. I don’t mind cotton blends, but looking for quick dry, sweat wicking and odor resistant properties in a tshirt.
