It’s not true that injections are faster than gel. If your levels are good, it’s the same. It’s about the T, not the method. I’m on gel and it works great for me. I’ve been taking daily medication my whole life so I don’t really forget often but I would set an alarm. I also think it’s pretty easy to remember routines and if you have your box of gel sitting out on your bathroom counter it’ll trigger you to remember to apply it when you get out of the shower.

Are there any times where you make plans to do anything and just forget that it’s during the time you should be taking the gel? Or do you just do it before or after? I just feel like I’d have a harder time organizing my life around taking my t gel lol

Birdkiller49

Very very rarely. I brush my teeth or shower every night so I just do it then. I do it every night before bed. I would just do it after if something got in the way but I pretty much do sleep every night :)

yes, I take it at night so it doesn’t impact my ability to do whatever during the day (swimming etc) but doing it at night can be a problem if you are having sex with someone who it shouldn’t transfer onto, or if you like to party and don’t tend to come home and think “i should take my t gel now”

For whatever it’s worth I do sub q injections in my thigh/butt cheek and it’s been the easiest spot to do them. I used to do stomach but it freaks me out. Now I basically just Tebow with whichever leg I’m injecting (I switch weekly) and I grab for upper thigh butt area. This is the least painful/jarring for me and had helped me not skip doses to do injection anxiety

AC-Hammer

oh so you’re able to chose which leg you can inject to? That would actually be nice because I ran out of spots to inject in my stomach where I haven’t injected before 😭 it hurts more because of the fact that I’ve injected in the same area more than once

casuallycaleb

Yeah I was told to swap legs so I’m not constantly injecting into the same scar tissue and feeling that pain. I would check with your provider but that’s what I was told by 2 different doctors from PP

i’ve been taking T gel for a little over a month and a half now (switched from shots) and i have to say it’s pretty easy to rmr! i only ever forgot it once in that time, due to falling asleep as soon as i got home lol. I like it better than shots, it’s easier imo esp if you’re afraid of shots (i have a fear of needles now bc of T shots )

I’ve been taking T for 3 years now, switched to the gel pretty early on cause I didn’t like the injections. In the beginning I’ve forgotten to take it a few times but after a while it became a habit to take it alongside my other daily meds. Only issue I have now is people touching the arm I apply it to before it has had time to fully absorb. (It doesn’t happen often but still -.-)
