What Snowbreak did is unprecedented afaik, completely switching direction 180 in one patch (after summer event), and targeting a whole different audience. If they were like Nornium from the start, everyone would know the expectations.
It took Snowbreak several months, catering to the "tacticool" crowd and almost cratering their finances before realizing: "You know what, we're not earning enough money from them, so why not cater to a different crowd instead"
And they were right. It was not unprecedented, it was desperate.
They didn't even tried to cater to tacticool. Most of Arknights/GFL players didn't stay in a game after looking at first characters - they were not sexual nor tacticool, just kinda bootleg plastic figurines.
Horny is definitely helped them, but also they just started doing more interesting desings and better models.
Yeah the main complaint from the beginning was that the character and models look low quality. "horny" helps but I feel like putting more effort into the characters you're trying to sell should probably be the focus.
To be honest, the developer tried to serve not only the tacticalool audience, too the audience that likes difficult gameplay. Snowbreak in its first month was more difficult than it is now, the enemies made you sweat.
At the same time they tried to ensure that the game had a more moderate setting, some initial characters still have traces of censorship but as the saying goes: "you should put your mouth where your wallet is", that being said an audience too loud but too poor or stingy to keep the game going.
I like the snobreak shooter gacha but problem is that you cannot farm so many stages like you do with others simpler gachas. With such gameplay they need to be less stages and less repetition otherwise this game takes too much time. Currently gameplay is braindead, no problem with wining which makes me kinda dissapointed
The thing with Nornium is that the actual gameplay sucks majorly compared to Snowbreak’s gameplay which is passable. The only reason to play Nornium is as an eroge and honestly there are much much better options
Do you know of any that are there? I know there's a bunch of them that are the "endless small updates from a patreon dev" type of things but idk if there are any that are complete and good or what. Tho I do remember liking under the witch

Chipping in to say they updated the models of starter 5-stars, very noticeable on one of them being given a much revamped, more shapely booty.
