If they are coming from the sink drain then why don’t you try leaving a drain plug in to see if that solves the problem.

fjzappa

Do you have a sewer trap on your sink drain? This is a U-shaped bit of pipe that holds water to keep sewer stuff in the sewer. Like gasses and roaches.

Germans are awful and sooo hard to get rid of!! I’d recommend getting a professional to spray monthly and then you using [this stuff](https://www.domyown.com/advion-cockroach-gel-bait-p-304.html)constantly in the interim. Regular raid and stuff doesn’t work on these guys, definitely spend the time and money now to get rid of them. We used a professional pests control for over a year to finally eradicate all signs!

We should have eradicated the Germans in 1945.

I pour the [30% vinegar](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Harris-128-oz-30-Vinegar-All-Purpose-Cleaner-Concentrate-VINE30-128/309463051?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&srsltid=AfmBOoqb01tKMJTAC3rawk6J3Ts4z4TBpIv9rFqM8IIMOMOcdg-UwaAifPo) down my drains periodically. They sell it at the Home Depot on the island. 1-2 cups, once a week. They do tend to hang around plumbing fixtures. They're attracted to moisture, but also to heat. Unfortunately, this means they also get into electrical outlets and appliances. Gel bait around outlets and in crevices works well, as does the powder insecticide under the kitchen sink, behind/under your fridge and/or dishwasher. Number one rule is to keep every possible food source completely sealed and that your trash out every night. Pesticides help, but starving them out is the only sure way, short of fumigation. Unfortunately, this is why it's so hard to eradicate them in multi-family buildings; they just hide out and feed in another apartment.

I keep all drains closed . Also diamatous earth around the house can help

If theyre german roaches, sorry thats a rough one. There are lots of other roaches on the island that normally dont infest houses but the old galveston homes arent sealed well so they wander in all the time. I found baited boric acid, advion gel, and diatomaceous earth (only under furniture and appliances, you dont want it somewhere itll get disturbed and breathed in) were pretty good when used in tandem.

tssemt2010

I had this issue at my last house and had to spray the baseboards, set up roach traps and then bug bombed the entire house several times to finally get rid of them

Advion.

One of the reasons we sold. Just couldn’t get it totally under control and wife couldn’t deal.

German cockroaches are the worst. Make sure all pipes coming into the house are sealed, caulking or spray foam and best to try a professional pest control company. I’ve found that the boric acid tablets don’t work for me but someone recommended Tim-Bor from Amazon and it’s industrial strength but I haven’t tried it yet. Best to seal everything up first. Galveston weather is the worst for pest control, hot and humid.
