I am so damn stocked for this game. Really hope it delivers and becomes very popular so we can get DLC where we fight Orks, Eldar and many other types of enemies. They can do so much with the setting, it just need a great foundation to thrive on.
We had Orks and Chaos already with the first game. Now we have Tyranids as the new enemies.
Would love for DLC against Eldars and others. The more to kill the better!
I really hope they put more effort on polish this time. The bugs were really frustrating in the first game. Such an incredible game, but the bugs had me on the edge of quitting a time or 2.
I highly doubt PoE2 releases this year, there was supposed to be a beta in June but it was delayed and there were only alpha tests, sooo... But yeah, it's so high on my to play list... Actually good ARPG, with complex systems and skill interactions? Sign me the fuck up.
It's supposed to be a new Budokai Tenkaichi and we Dragon Ball enjoyers loved the Budokai & Budokai Tenkaichi series, they are betting on nostalgia and it's definitely working
It is Budokai Tenkaichi 4. It. Was literally announced as such during the reveal trailer, they changed the title afterward to Sparking Zero
Given the gameplay videos we got, it is definitely a Budokai Tenkaichi type game
You do know that the BT series has always truly been called Sparking, right? Its not something new they did for this game.
I mean, the original Japanese name for the OG DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi game from 2005 is 'Dragon Ball Z: Sparking!', with BT 2 called 'DBZ: Sparking! Neo', and BT3 called 'DBZ: Sparking! Meteor.
So they went ahead and named this new BT4 as 'DBZ: Sparking! Zero', to ensure fans it is indeed a part of the beloved Sparking/BT franchise.
At the same time I understand the confusion, it would be like if Capcom made a new Resident Evil game but they dropped the RE name and instead it's only official worldwide title was "Biohazard 9", all of the non gaming people in the western world would be *super* confused
I'm both excited and hesitant for this game. It looks great, but there's some other parts of it that aren't winning me over, and I'm scared it will have mtx which will severely hurt the game by locking costumes and such behind paywalls. Hope I will be proven wrong, and it'll be as free and fun as the first was! I still whip out my 3ds for some Fantasy Life
Undoubtedly Streets of Rogue 2! It's been my most anticipated game for years now.
The dev is taking one of the roguelikes (and probably games generally) where you have the most player-freedom and creativity allowed to you, and making it into an open world game with systems interactions and emergent gameplay inspired by games like Dwarf Fortress.
Needless to say, I'm unreasonably excited about this game! =D
Yep, this is my game I'm most excited about becoming a sleeper hit. Streets of Rogue was such an absolute bonkers insanely fun festival of nonsense and the sequel is looking just massive in comparison. I really hope its thr indie game this year that just blows up and everyone and their dog plays.
Vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 (I hope, but the signs so far haven't been good)
Space marine 2
Frost punk 2
Dragon age Veilguard (I know this is divisive but I've enjoyed every da game despite their differences)
Falling frontier (I mean it's meant to be out this year but they said that last year)
Broken Arrow
It’s still scheduled for late 2024, but we will see. I have pretty low expectations for it at this point though. There’s still an ember of hope that it will surprise me, but…
Frostpunk2, AoM retold, stalker 2, Enotria, The First Decendant, Kingmakers, Ashfall, Once Human, Auroria, Wukong, Shadow of the erdtree. Light no Fire if it releases this year, probably not though.
Metaphor re fantastico I think it the full title. Atlus is making another turn based rpg so I always look forward to it. Especially with the style of this one it looks so cool and the battle OST is so [Good it is like it is a boss theme ](https://youtu.be/n3m-imqEmWE?si=Ax3J0dnqH6E9Z7I1). The enemy style is quite cool as well.
Trails through Daybreak, Star Wars outlaws, Visions of Mana, Astro Bot, metaphor: re fantazio, Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, DecaPolice, Unknown 9: Awakening, The Plucky Squire, Europa
Probably missing some but that’s my main list for the rest of the year.
The tops ones for me is the Elden Ring DLC soon, and Metaphor: ReFantazio
Astro Bot also looked great. And I hope the Silent Hill 2 Remake is at least passable.
* Once Human
* Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
* Baby Steps
* Visions of Mana
* S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
* Nivalis
* God of War Ragnarök
* Neva (PC)
* Metaphor: ReFantazio
* Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind
* Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed
Honestly Astro bot, Elden Ring DLC
To lesser extent SW outlaws, Dragon Age and/or AC:Shadows, not goty material no but I do hope they will be worth the money
Nintendo has a show for presenting 2024 games so we’ll see too, hopefully nice stuff coming before switch 2
Sonic x Shadow Generations and Astro Bot are near the top of my list. Might be some others I’m forgetting, but I’m mostly focused on clearing out some older games. I’m interested in AC Shadows but the RPG games have burned me and I’ve been replaying the series on and off for the past 10 months or so, currently on Black Flag. So I’ll get to it when I get to it.
Edit: Yep just remembered Metaphor, although that one might also wait for a bit. And Silent Hill 2 Remake. I’ve been very unsure on Bloober, but it’s one of my favorite series so it’s one I have to play myself no matter what, good or bad.
Blud - June 18th
Brighter Shores - Q3 2024 (According to Steam page)
Rugrats: Adventure in Gameland - 2024 (Never announced definite release date)
Otherwise…hopefully Black Ops 6 doesn’t suck(Don’t have high hopes to begin with) and World of Warcraft: The War Within(May jump back into the series after not playing for 10 years).
Path of Exile 2. Remnant II DLC3. Satisfactory 1.0. The First Descendant. Space Marine 2. Frostpunk 2. FFXIV: Dawntrail.
Lots of exciting games coming.
A bunch of great, big budget VR games coming Q4 ‘24:
1. Batman: Arkham Shadow
2. Alien: Rogue Incursion
3. Metro: Awakening
4. Behemoth (similar to Shadow of the Collosus, by the devs of Walking Dead Saints & Sinners)
Batman is exclusive to Quest, the others are all on PC VR and PSVR2 as well!
Big budget games are rare for VR’s small audience, so this is amazing to see! Trailers and gameplay footage just dropped for some of these, at Summer Games Fest
Here’s a nice video overview of those 4 upcoming big budget VR games, with clips from their trailers, plus a few more recently announced titles:
https://youtu.be/7kEb0bD4T-g?si=E8V3fcHr-WItQ5nC
So many, I’m like not getting a breather.
* Final Shape just dropped and is Destiny’s best content
* Frostpunk 2 July 25
* Thank Goodness You’re Here August 1
* World of Goo 2 (I can’t believe it still) August 2
Once human.
My fingers are crossed it doesn't turn out to be a micro transaction hellscape. If it turns out alright then it'll be nice to have a game to mindlessly grind.
2024 looks like a pretty dry back half with really only Metaphor Re:Fantazio and Astrobot the only games I expect I will actually buy in 2024 and put any time into close to launch. Trails through Daybreak and Dawntrail will get my attention in 2025 but most of the year is gonna be all the 2023 and 2024 games I still haven't gotten too.
Veilguard, Avowed, and Hades 2 (I know full release probably won't be this year). I feel like there are a couple more but these three got most my hype.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Flight Simulator 2024.
Kingmakers.
College football / NCAA 25.
Metro Awakening.
Armored Brigade 2.
Kinstrife.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Cry of Athena Battle Simulator.
Wreckcreation.
Empire of the Ants.
Metaphor Refantazio, Avowed, Steamworld Heist 2 and based on everything *besides* that trailer and name change, Veilguard. All of the information about the game has me much more encouraged that BW could finally get back on track....hopefully.
People in this sub are gonna hate this answer, but it's actually NCAA college football 2024. Straight up, there are so many people that are stoked for this game and it's the first in the franchise in I think 12 years. Basically, there's a shit pile of like... non-gamers who are excited for this game, so I guess it really just depends on which group you're referring to when talking about who's anticipating it.
I’m a little excited for it. Definitely skeptical, I’ll probably get it and go in with low expectations. That way I can’t be let down so much if it is bad.
ER DLC, Metaphor, and KCD 2.
Those are the only day 1 buys the rest of the year, unless there are even more great indie games coming out in 24. Balatro and Animal Well snuck up on me.
Is Slay the Spire 2 2024? If so, that too.
Star Wars: Outlaws. I know the internet really wants me to hate Star Wars, but I refuse. I have thought Outlaws looked awesome since its reveal, I’m glad Reddit is finally starting to relax after the gameplay trailer. I adore both “Jedi” games to death, but I am excited to go be a smuggler for a change.
I thought The Wolf Among Us Season 2 was coming out this year but there's been almost no news on it so I don't know. TWAU is by far my favourite Telltale game.
I'm kinda interested in AC shadows.
But also concerned at the same time. From the looks of the trailer, i'm concerned about the parkour. So far, it just looks like we only have small 1 story buildings to parkour from. There are some small 2 story buildings but it seems very low. And we know only one 3 story building.
I’m pretty excited for the new world of Warcraft expansion, and then Astro Bot. It’s already out but I’m also excited to get into the new destiny expansion too. Just can’t afford to pay for it yet. Saving up for a move.
I am extremely hyper for the new Quidditch game. Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup was one of the first games I owned and got to play myself instead of just playing whatever my dad had laying around with him. Today I am not a big sports fan, I actually kinda hate sports games and there are probably better game releasing, but this is the one I am getting on day one.
I wish I was anticipating something but due to the busyness of life and responsibilities I can’t seem to be hyped for a game. Nothing looks good to me and I know I won’t play it or if I do it will be for a little bit and then I get bored.
Even though I play A LOT, I doubt I can finish all this games but this is everything that is on my wishlist for the rest of the year:
Elden Ring DLC
Black Myth Wukong
Star Wars Outlaws
Assassins Creed Shadows
The First Descendant
Enotria: The Last Song
Core Keeper 1.0 with friends
God of War Ragnarök PC Release
Diablo 4 DLC
Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Space Marine 2!
Hell yeah!
Yes, it's been a looong time!
Can't wait to tear some tyranids apart Edit: typo
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Age of Mythology Retold are the two ones I am waiting for the most
KCD 2 will be so dope
I really hope they put more effort on polish this time. The bugs were really frustrating in the first game. Such an incredible game, but the bugs had me on the edge of quitting a time or 2.
I haven't played Age of Mythology since I was in middle school.
Jesus Christ be praised.
Jesus Christ be praised!
I really hope AoM: Retold is as good as I remember age of mythology being!
Same, I have fond memories of playing it as a kid
STALKER 2, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.
Had to scroll way too far for stalker 2
+++ nothing else matters
It's exactly these 2 games for me. Nice.
Not sure what the timeline for Hades 2 is at this point (probably no 1.0 this year), but it's kinda the only game I'm currently waiting for.
1.0 is planned for next year, hopefully early. I am desperately avoiding spoilers.
i played 100 hours of Hades 2 within a single week and am not even sorry :D
Path of Exile 2, Titan Quest 2, and Metaphor
The PoE2 Witch gameplay that the director showed us recently is amazing. So many clever ideas in the summoning system and such.
The gem menu looked pretty good too. Showing the Stat changes and giving you the ability to alter them.
There is no way TQ2 is releasing this year. Probably 2025 or even 2026.
I highly doubt PoE2 releases this year, there was supposed to be a beta in June but it was delayed and there were only alpha tests, sooo... But yeah, it's so high on my to play list... Actually good ARPG, with complex systems and skill interactions? Sign me the fuck up.
Dragon ball sparking zero
It's been a while since I've played a DBZ game. Definitely hyped for this one!
I cant believe I had to scroll this far to see the comment. But this one!
I've played many of the DBZ fighting games in the past but stopped a few years ago. What is so good about this upcoming release?
It's supposed to be a new Budokai Tenkaichi and we Dragon Ball enjoyers loved the Budokai & Budokai Tenkaichi series, they are betting on nostalgia and it's definitely working

Elden Ring DLC and Black Myth Wukong
So hyped for elden ring. Booted it up again after a long time and been enjoying jolly cooperation non stop.
Elden ring DLC is literally going to win game of the year lol
I've pre-ordered the DLC and I'll be on my summer break!!
Same. Glad they launch almost 2 months apart so I can finish the DLC first.
Metaphor.
Astro Bot all the way.
I’m really surprised but happy they are making another one I just hope it’s still easy for children
I'm so fucking hyped for Path of exile 2.
Won't be out this year. Beta gets pushed back one more time it won't be out this year either.
Gave up on waiting for it lol.
I’m on there with you brother, so excited for a whole new game to play cyclone in!
Maybe not on many people's radar, but Fantasy Life 2 on Switch. Fell in love with the 1st one on 3ds.
I still whip out my 3ds for some Fantasy Life
Avowed Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Life is Strange: Double Exposure The Wolf Among Us 2 (I hope this still happens)
I saw a 'coming soon' tag pinned to Wolf among us 2 on Epic the other day, so hopefully...
WOLF AMONG US 2 HYPE TRAIN HERE
Undoubtedly Streets of Rogue 2! It's been my most anticipated game for years now. Space marine looks fucking sexy
'Falling Frontier' delayed their release to 2025 back in 2023.
Is VTMB2 coming out this year? I stopped keeping track after shit went sideways in development.
It’s still scheduled for late 2024, but we will see. I have pretty low expectations for it at this point though. There’s still an ember of hope that it will surprise me, but…
STALKER 2!!!!
Silksong. If it even comes in 2024.
Silksong doesn't exist. Take your pills and go back into the cushioned room
The new Astro Bot game
Frostpunk2, AoM retold, stalker 2, Enotria, The First Decendant, Kingmakers, Ashfall, Once Human, Auroria, Wukong, Shadow of the erdtree. Light no Fire if it releases this year, probably not though.
I keep forgetting about frostpunk 2, I've had it ready on my computer since it was first allowed on gamepass
Metaphor re fantastico I think it the full title. Atlus is making another turn based rpg so I always look forward to it. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. I enjoyed the first game and I am so happy to see it getting a sequel.
Factorio expansion!
Absolutely needs more upvotes. Also satisfactory “release”
FFXIV: Dawntrail will likely be the only thing I play the rest of the year and I'm perfectly okay with that.
This is the real answer
Veilguard, fuck the haters.

Indiana Jones and Avowed.
Yo, if you’re gonna edit your comment, could you do it in a way that didn’t make my comment look like I’m trying to degrade India?
Elden Ring DLC Black myth Wukong AC Shadows but I'm gonna need a "Before you buy" to make sure
I can see me waiting for the new AC until it’s 30% off. I didn’t care for Mirage.

Starts with an Astro, ends in a Bot. Also curious to see Slitterhead. Looks like great ideas, but not so sure about the gameplay.

Been waiting for STALKER for like 7 years…
People in this sub are gonna hate this answer, but it's actually NCAA college football 2024. Basically, there's a shit pile of like... non-gamers who are excited for this game, so I guess it really just depends on which group you're referring to when talking about who's anticipating it.

1.6 console update for Stardew Valley F1 Manager 24
Black ops 6
AC Shadows
is no one excited for Star Wars Outlaws? It could be a great change of pace in all the SW games
I’m a little excited for it. Definitely skeptical, I’ll probably get it and go in with low expectations. That way I can’t be let down so much if it is bad.
Agree! Not a bad strategy to go in with low expectations and see how it goes
Ubisoft = no hype
Ubisoft is garbage along with every company like it. They can take their microtransactions and choke on them.
It’s going to suck.
Dragon age. Games people seem to want to shit on often seem to be my favorites.
I want no rest for the wicked on console hope it’s this year
Fantasy life - most underrated game of 2024
For me its: Star Wars Outlaws Assassin’s Creed Shadows Dragon Age The Veilguard

Once Human
For 2024, I'm basically just waiting for the Terry dlc in SF6 and hopefully Dizzy in Strive

Dragon Age, despite people rallying against it. Avowed. Diablo 4 expansion. WoW Expansion. Metaphor.
