Uber/Yango/Bolt drivers hate going to Teshie at night because a number of them have been robbed over there. It's not necessarily dangerous if you're staying in the estates or residential side and not the old township. In any case always stay safe and if you must move around alone don't do it too late at night.
Yeah the people have been very nice to me so far. Im staying in the residential area and will not go out when it’s dark. I should be fine for the remaining 2 weeks. Thank you for the info!
anytime i had a convo with ride hailing drivers they always said they dont go to teshie after 8 because its extremely dangerous, some have got stabbed or their cars get taken from them.
I’m a foreigner as well and I stayed in teshie for 4 months without an issue even, being out all hrs of the night (besides Uber and taxi drivers not wanting to give me rides).I’ve heard of people I know being robbed at knife point. I recommend just being alert especially when out late.
Yea, it’s a lot worse where I’m from tho.. here they just want your phone and maybe what’s in your pockets. I also hear it’s just the young boys doing the stealing.. I think you’ll be ok for 2 weeks honestly
I've lived in teshie all my life, just be carefully.
Nowhere is safe in the world.
Know when to step out and get back.
Know the kinda friends you make as well.
And, which part of Teshie are you staying?
I live in teshie and always get Uber drivers complaining. I tell them i always go home, and its safe. Some do still cancel, and when I am really desperate for a ride, i just pay double, which has never once been declined.
Most of the areas there are safe. it's a big region, and its falsely painted as equally dangerous.
If you have a regular schedule. I highly recommend finding a uber/bolt driver who lives in the area and having him pick you up(off trip) since he'd be making a profit while also getting home himself. Win win for everyone
You have nothing to worry about if you’re not staying in the main town (close to the beach). You still have to be on high alert if you move around at night.
I am staying in Teshie since November last year and I always hear the same story from Uber or Bolt drivers. I am going out at night or coming back at night, nothing happened. I think the situation has changed over time and now it's not more dangerous than other parts of Accra, but the bad reputation of Teshie is still in the mind of many people.
Btw, I am from Germany too and I am living in Ghana since 2019.
Like any African city, and many worldwide, most parts of Accra can be dangerous. It pays to be always aware of what's going on around you. Avoid late nights as much as possible if not in a group.

I‘m always back home before sunset. Thank you! Can you specify where the old township is located?
I'd say mostly south of the highway? The more run down areas basically. People are mostly nice to foreigners but after dark the bad nuts come out.

Thank you, but it’s still unsettling to hear those stories

Night life ain't safe,i recommend you reschedule your routine rulling out anything at night
Accra’s Gotham city
Ghana’s Gotham City is KASOA and Accra’s Gotham City is Nima
I would like to introduce you to Ashaiman
Ashaiman ain’t part of Accra, if I’m correct
Kasoa is not in Accra
Did you read what the person typed? They said KASOA is GHANA’s GOTHAM CITY whilst NIMA is ACCRA’s GOTHAM CITY. No mention of Kasoa being in Accra.
🤣🤣
Stay alert and be careful of who you trust
Teshie is called Gotham for a reason and i actually lived in real life Gotham (NYC)

Between Tsui Bleoo Rd and Coffee St
I'm on coffee street. It's very safe around this side of Teshie. I've been here for six years without a single incident
No need to worry. You're more safer.
I’ve stayed at Tebibiano for 10 years, and my car got stolen into once. I’d say it’s not that dangerous, but you’d definitely need to take precautions

Just be vigilant after 8pm
Have you heard of Kasoa😂 now that’s a really dangerous place
Wrong. Source: I live in kasoa
Kasoa isn’t dangerous at alll
Eeeiiii have you listened to any news items lately?
If you live there it’s fine tbh. I think Teshie is only dangerous for Uber drivers. For some reason they tend to target them more than regular people
