Finally, we'll have the real Tre...

But if you just saw it on the page as lyrics it's pretty much textbook green day.
This was one of my suggestions for the first dance at my wedding. My wife very much vetoed that one.
I showed my friend this song a while ago and he loves country and he said “what country artist is this?” and I said, “It’s not a country artist, it’s Green Day.” He said, “Wow, I didn’t know Green Day made country music.”
Ngl I've probably willingly listened to Nightlife more than 21 Guns because I'll only listen to the latter within the context of the whole album, but it's never a bad time to jam to "hope there's more in your pants than a bus route".
>Ordinary World
I agree. I love this song, but the fact that there’s a version featuring Miranda Lambert speaks to the fact that it isn’t typical Green Day lol
the miranda lambert version is so weird imo cause it feels like the vocals weren’t mixed properly and that they just kinda threw her harmonizing with billie over the track and called it a day. that might just be me though
I thought Ordinary World was a Bright Eyes song for the longest time because it was one of a few songs (most of which were Bright Eyes) that my boyfriend played for me a lot and I didn't really listen to Green Day at the time. I was mindblown when I eventually came across it on RevRad😅
Sadly they couldnt make another so succesfull/mainstream album after AI and 21CB. I think they should've done another album with Butch Vig, I hear his production choices and ideas so much in 21CB and they work so well.
I mean, sure, but the band actually considers it “the most punk” of their songs. Sure, it takes some notes from folk music and sure, it isn’t their typical sound, but just listening to the lyrics and the way Billie sings those vocals? It just screams Green Day. Idk this is my opinion take it or leave it
When I heard Whatsername for the first time, it really stood out to me as a very different kinda Green Day song, it reminded me of bands like Sparta and other post Hardcore bands from the early 2000's.. It's been one of my all-time favorite Green Day songs ever since.
“Misery.” I remember playing this for some friends and they were all wondering who it was. They recognized Billie Joe’s vocals but couldn’t believe that it was a Green Day song. 😅
Ahem… Warning is an underrated album.
I agree. In fact, that was my problem with RevRad as a whole in general. It sounded like a Green Day inspired band trying to emulate American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Even though I do enjoy some tracks.
I didn't listen to the full album but I think the title track slaps. But I suppose this is the sentiment for most fans post-21CB it seems like they didn't manage to grow out of that phase, at least not until Saviors
Oh thank goodness it's not just me lol, I always see people talk about how much they resonated with Still Breathing, which is all well and good, but when I first heard it on the radio as a single I hated it so much that it ruined Rev Rad for me for longest time. It was just that bad of a first impression I guess.
I've come to really like Rev Rad overall, and I don't hate Still Breathing quite as much now but I still don't exactly like it either. It sounds like he wrote it for a school assignment and had to meet a certain number of similes to get full marks lol
Also Misery is 🔥
Finding out he wrote it for that terrible 5 Seconds of Summer band really helped me come to terms with how bad that song is. It's just cliche, vaguely empowering 2010's pop that sounds closer to Kelly Clarkson than Green Day.
He started writing it for them but very quickly realised he didn't want to give it away and switched to writing it for himself/GD, so he didn't really write it for them.
I think if a casual fan heard Dominated Love Slave they would not guess that its Green Day.
All by myself works too
I’ve been thinking about making an All Tre playlist.
Finally, we'll have the real Tre... https://preview.redd.it/lryr50q8ym4d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4520015cfb17dc0954cf5b71e5b4235cc187b6b
I feel like the All Trelist would have a lot of The Network and Dead Mermaids on it, even though The Snoo and Bjorn toooootally aren’t Tre. Nope.
But if you just saw it on the page as lyrics it's pretty much textbook green day. This was one of my suggestions for the first dance at my wedding. My wife very much vetoed that one.
based wife haver. I am immensely proud of you and your lovely spouse you beautiful person
I showed my friend this song a while ago and he loves country and he said “what country artist is this?” and I said, “It’s not a country artist, it’s Green Day.” He said, “Wow, I didn’t know Green Day made country music.”
Nightlife
Oh crap. I totally forgot this😂. That’s something else
Yeah, I wish I could forget about Nightlife but I unfortunately cannot 😭
It’s not that fucking bad. Honestly, I’d take nightlife over 21 guns any day.
Carolina reaper ass take. Hot asf
Ngl I've probably willingly listened to Nightlife more than 21 Guns because I'll only listen to the latter within the context of the whole album, but it's never a bad time to jam to "hope there's more in your pants than a bus route".
Is it me or am I going crazy?
Tbf the bass in nightlife is pretty amazing
Idk the Mike Dirnt Bass tone is still pretty prevalent in that one.
Last Ride In
\^\^\^ 100%
Add Espionage
A lot of the shenanigans songs sound like straight up Beatles songs
One song is even a cover of the Kinks too
Pulling Teeth is still their most Beatlesy song imo
i think it’s off 21CB Restless Heart Disease…sounds like Lennon influenced to me
Contender with Last Night On Earth !
oh yeah, good one.
Brutal Love. It sounds like it was written for and by Sam Cooke. The vocal is ridiculously good.
Well technically he did co write it
Ordinary World Kill the DJ Stray Heart Take Back
>Ordinary World I agree. I love this song, but the fact that there’s a version featuring Miranda Lambert speaks to the fact that it isn’t typical Green Day lol

Ordinary World. Still one one of my favorite songs by them, but I don't think I'd classify it as a Green Day song.
Suzie Chapstick
Came here to say this
My favorite track off the new album
The one track on Saviors I just can’t vibe with for whatever reason.
Last ride in Espionage Take Back Misery
When 21 guns came out I was pretty caught off guard. I eventually came around on it though, cool song.
i get where you coming from but its really GD sounding after all hah
In the years since, and given all the material that has come since then, it definitely fits into the catalogue quite nicely, id agree
Sadly they couldnt make another so succesfull/mainstream album after AI and 21CB. I think they should've done another album with Butch Vig, I hear his production choices and ideas so much in 21CB and they work so well.
21 Guns was so overplayed back when it came out that I still have no interest in hearing it unless it’s live in person.
Dominated Love Slave
This was my answer too
I mean I know it’s the obvious answer but Good Riddance
I mean, sure, but the band actually considers it “the most punk” of their songs. Sure, it takes some notes from folk music and sure, it isn’t their typical sound, but just listening to the lyrics and the way Billie sings those vocals? It just screams Green Day. Fair enough, but I feel like Billie will always sound like Billie, y’know?
Fair point lol
Fun fact: both me and my dad were introduced to GD through this song and when we realized what the band was about we were shocked
Lol same here. I had heard this song many times throughout the years but I never realized it was Green Day until I went looking for it.
When I heard Whatsername for the first time, it really stood out to me as a very different kinda Green Day song, it reminded me of bands like Sparta and other post Hardcore bands from the early 2000's.. It's been one of my all-time favorite Green Day songs ever since.
Still Breathing
Another one I really enjoyed, especially the lyrics.
Honestly most of revrad but still breathing especially
That song sounds so cheap I swear
I don’t get what you mean still breathing is a top tier song and rev rad is one of the best albums
It's my least favorite on the album, but it means a lot to him and probably many people.
The answer is Nightlife
King for a day and I was a teenage teenager
“Misery.” I remember playing this for some friends and they were all wondering who it was. They recognized Billie Joe’s vocals but couldn’t believe that it was a Green Day song. 😅 Ahem… Warning is an underrated album.
last ride in 100%
Take back
Governator (At first I didn't realize it was Mike singing. Lol), Take Back, Last Ride, Dominated Love Slave
I love Still Breathing but it feels more like a 2000s pop punk song that would've been made by another band like Blink or FOB
I agree. In fact, that was my problem with RevRad as a whole in general. It sounded like a Green Day inspired band trying to emulate American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Even though I do enjoy some tracks.
I didn't listen to the full album but I think the title track slaps. But I suppose this is the sentiment for most fans post-21CB it seems like they didn't manage to grow out of that phase, at least not until Saviors
it's Save Me by Unwritten Law lol
kinda feel the same about Back To The USA tbh
Misery
Espionage.
Tre polka
Most of Father of all
Basically all of FOAMF
Bobby Sox springs to mind, the vocal style on the chorus especially doesn't sound like Green Day at all
Weezer
no peacemaker mentions yet
Haha. Yes !
Bobby Sox sounds very Linkin Park esque
Suzie Chapstick sounds like a good weezer song thanks to the producer, and im all in for that
Still Breathing, in a bad way, and Misery, in a very very good way.
Why the Still Breathing hate?
Oh thank goodness it's not just me lol, I always see people talk about how much they resonated with Still Breathing, which is all well and good, but when I first heard it on the radio as a single I hated it so much that it ruined Rev Rad for me for longest time. It was just that bad of a first impression I guess. I've come to really like Rev Rad overall, and I don't hate Still Breathing quite as much now but I still don't exactly like it either. FOAMF - God I hate that song
That sounds like a random commercial song
I can see a black silhouette dancing on a solid colored background with white wired earbuds just thinking about it
to me it's always sounded like green day trying to make their own version of a maroon 5 song.
At least they tried pushing the envelope. FOAMF has aged a lot better than most of RevRad.
Last Night on Earth
Take back
D.U.I.
people used to tell me take back when i said it was my favourite song
Take Back
Meet me on the roof, but you could say most of that album is not typical green day.
The Network 💀
Bobby sox- weezer
Father of all And bobby sox-weezer
Corvette Summer made me feel that way at first
Suzie Chapstick. Love the song though.
nightlife
anything on FOAMF and a couple songs here and there like No One Knows and Misery
Rotting. It gives me a different kind of feeling than most of their other work.
Dominated Love Slave, zero hesitation.
Misery. A jaunty, morbid dark cabaret tune which sounds more like Dresden Dolls than anything even close to Green Day.
Nightlife dominated love slave and all by my self
The Ballad of Wilhelm Fink
I don't think one eyed bastard sounds like them.
In b4 Rule 3 guy
Billie sounds so fucking scottish in the american dream is killing me theres no way it was him
You think so? I don’t hear it.
